Are all Sharge products JUNK or is it just my bad luck?

So, I'll try to keep it short because it seems nobody wants to read or respond to my long posts.

I have had TWO Icemag 2 power banks, the first one I bought and a replacement from Amazon. BOTH of them act really strange when charging. The first one goes on and endless on/off loop when charging the power bank after it gets to 4/4 lights.

The second one charges at full 30w input even when it gets to 4/4 lights for over 30 min, then finally shuts off to signify its fully charged. But the 4th LED indicator keeps blinking to signify that its still charging, and after sitting a few min will start charging again, then shut off again. Similar to the first one but the time between it shutting off and turning back on is shorter. So I got it down to 0%, checked the charge indicator to see 3/4 lights even though i know its STONE DEAD.

So are all of these ICEMAG 2s junk? Do they just have crappy or wonky BMSes? Are the rest of their products problematic like this as well and behave strange when trying to charge the power bank itself? I'm curious.

Is Magsafe.... err... safe?

I was thinking of buying a 17e, and ive done alot of research on the different models and such.

So i read this one has magsafe, something that has been a feature on iphones since the 13 model. Anyway, im coming from the 7 (i know....) that didnt have it. I never really missed it, but i figured its a cool feature.

So i googled what i could do with magsafe and then a bunch of stuff showed up about it not being 100% safe. So i started to overthink and doubts started to rise in my head about is having a magnet in your pants pocket a few hours a day really that safe or a good idea?

Sorry if this sounds stupid, anyone care to elaborate and share experiences?

if I have a MagSafe power bank attached to my phone but it's already been plugged in via a cable would my phone still be charged via MagSafe or would the cable override it?

I get that my question is a little weird, like why would I pay for a MagSafe power bank just to not use the MagSafe, but my main reason for using it is not so much to charge my phone since it has the added downside of slower charging speeds and heat, hence I am using the magnets so that I can have my phone charging as an all-in-one type of solution, instead of a power bank in my pocket, with a cable tethering it to to my phone being a bit of an annoyance to use.

Whereas with a MagSafe power bank and a short USB-C cable I eliminate this annoyance. So yeah, the power bank in question is the Anker Nano MagGo Slim 5000mAh. I don't know if my iPhone 17 can tell if it's being charged via MagSafe or cable so I'm asking.

Unlike MagSafe 3, what’s actually ‘safe’ about MagSafe for iPhone & AirPods Pro?

Wireless charger that sticks to the table

Is there any wireless charger that sticks to the table? Every time I try to take my phone off it, the charger comes with. It should leave my phone but also keep it connected when it’s on charging. Is there any product that sticks to the table so that it doesn’t come with the phone and just stays stuck on the table?

How do you handle phone charging on a long day hike?

I'm on an iphone 17. Curious how you all handle keeping your phone charged on a day hike. I'm kind of leaning toward a magnetic power bank but I'm honestly not sure about the capacity and charge speed. What do you guys usually use to top up on a full day hike?

About to buy my first magsafe bank for trips, Anker vs Baseus?

Got a trip coming up next month and want to upgrade to a magnetic power bank for my iPhone 17, for travel and everyday use. Right now I'm mainly torn between Anker and Baseus.

I'm not great with specs, I just want to know if there's a real difference in actual travel use, mainly three things: whether wireless top-ups are fast enough, whether it gets hot when I charge and use it for a while, and whether the magnet holds steady.

Capacity-wise the 10000mAh range is fine, don't want anything too heavy. Anyone used both, or one of them? If you're on an iPhone 17, which would you pick?

Does a Qi2.2 25W detachable MagSafe desk charger like this exist?

I’ve been looking at desk charging setups and wondering if something like this exists or is coming soon. A MagSafe Qi2.2 25W charger that works as a desk stand but the puck detaches and becomes a MagSafe power bank on the go.I’ve seen detachable setups, but they’re usually ~15W or just battery packs, not fast wireless chargers. Preferably with Apple Watch charger but could be without.

Does anything like this exist at 25W Qi2.2 or is the tech not there yet?

Need a slim and light power bank for EDC

I’ve been on the hunt for a truly portable power bank for everyday carry. My current one from ugreen cost me around $60 and honestly feels like a brick. Its bulky, heavy and thicker than my phone. It gets the job done but it ruins the slim lining of my bag and just feels like overkill for quick top-ups.

Now I’m stuck deciding between a magsafe style power bank like the Iniu P73 or Anker MagGo Qi2. MagSafe looks super convenient but I’ve heard they charge slower and don’t hold as much power. On the other hand, pocket-sized wired ones seem more efficient but not as clean or easy to use when you’re walking around.

Ideally, I want something small enough to fit in a waist bag, USB-C friendly, and capable of at least one solid phone charge. I just don’t want to carry another mini brick.

Would love to hear what’s been working best for everyday carry and maybe catch some deals while we’re at it!

Measuring the magnetic strength of MagSafe products with a gauss meter

My younger brother's college major is materials science, and since he's on break, he brought home a gauss meter that his school was getting rid of. That gave me a chance to play around with it.

The photo shows all the MagSafe accessories that my friends and I have been using lately (yes, I made everyone bring theirs over when they came to my place yesterday).

I measured the magnetic rings of them with the gauss meter and got the numbers shown in the picture.

Just a quick note though: gauss readings don't directly tell you how strong the magnetic holding force is. They only measure magnetic field strength. Actual magnetic force also depends on things like magnet thickness, surface area, distance, and the material of the contact surface. However, since products in the same category are usually pretty similar in those aspects, the gauss numbers can still be a useful point of reference.

Overall, ESR came out on top in the wallet category. They’ve probably iterated on the design too. The light blue one in the middle was from a friend who bought it about two years ago, and the GEO one is a recent purchase, and the numbers are quite different. For Moft, the different models are pretty similar in readings. And for 3-in-1 chargers, Anker generally shows higher gauss.

Anker magGo 10k UTP issue

I bought this almost a year ago, no complaints at all until one day it just stops working and display the UTP error.
Weather around me is almost 25-30 degree celsius everyday.
This modal is not available for sale in India.
Does anybody know how to fix it, I have already tried everything with charging, cables, wall outlets etc but nothing seems to work

MagSafe Power bank my for iphone 17 pro

i need it to be slim, and that should have options for charging phone with cable.
the power bank should have airline safety protection. I care about heat protection.

it can be 5k-10k , but if you have 20k slimmer version then ok.

minimalist Magsafe wallet recommendations

I've already had a magsafe wallet (original Apple leather wallet) but didn't have a good experience; after less than a year there was noticeable wear and tear and the adhesive/binding at the seams started coming apart and melting in my hands.

Anyhow, I'm revisiting this because I'd really like a minimalist setup where I only carry my ID access card (1.5 cards thick) and my DL. I'm aiming for the minimalist Apple aesthetic, i.e. no fancy extra functions (except maybe Findmy) or added thickness, but would like something that actually lasts longer.

Any recommendations? I'm looking at the Apple Finewoven (which seems even worse than the original leather), Popsocket Finegoods, or the Spigen Valentinus.

baseus magsafe am52 for travel!

Finally found a magsafe that actually makes sense for short trips. So glad I went with Qi2.2, the newest standard (25w wireless fast charging).
I'm on an iPhone 16 and just got back from a weekend getaway.
I used to lug around one of those big traditional power banks every time I went out. Heavy, took up way too much space. Then I realized I never actually needed that much capacity, I just top it off overnight at the hotel and during the day all I really need is a quick boost here and there. So this time I left the brick at home and just brought the baseus picogo am52 instead. It's a 10000mAh magnetic one, and not hauling all that extra capacity around made a real difference in what I was carrying.
That 10000mAh still got me through the whole day without hunting for outlets. tbh I always figured wireless charging was just slow, but the 25W on this is actually quick. And if you want it faster there's a built in cable that does up to 45W.
Either way, not going back to the brick.

I find it difficult finding a 3 in 1 charger that has FAST charging for my apple watch. Anyone else?

I am trying to find a 3 n 1 charger that does fast charging for my watch with a cooling fan for my phone(newest standard charger also a nice to have). I also would like magnets for my airpods charging spot. Seems like everywhere I look it doesnt specify the fast charger for the watch so I have to guess. I got the esr cooling station but it only does 5 watts I believe. Anyone else finding it difficult to find the all in one package?
