Simparico Trio

My 11 lb Maltipoo got very aggressive after his dose it happened the first and second time he got it too. Lunging, barking and growling at me, my 11 year old grandson, other dogs and strangers help so frustrated. I know he is not feeling well I just put him in his playpen and zipper it up and cover with a sheet. He opened the zipper escaped and ran under the bed because he knows I can’t get him out! His brain is clearly still working well😂🤣😄. He will wait for bed time then crawl into his bed with his teddy guarding him. He did this last night too

Little butt

Rosie has been a sleepy head most of today. She has been following me around the hot summer weather for the past couple of days while I finish the yard work; she says “Today we rest mom.”

Dental cleaning options

Hi all!

My daughter Poppy is 5lbs and about 9 months old. I’m looking for dental cleaning options which I’d like to get done around her 1 year mark.

I currently brush her teeth with Virbac toothpaste, she gets 1 Virbac chew per day, and a dental water additive from Arm & Hammer. Despite these efforts her upper molars have marks of yellowing, and while it’s discouraging, it’s also really hard to get around a mouth as tiny as hers. Plus this breed has an array of issues regarding dental.

I’m looking for non-anesthetic options because those prices are absolutely egregious but I’m still open to hearing what you guys do regardless. Company names or procedure names etc.

Thank you!

For more context: Poppy’s baby k9s have yet to fall (don’t worry the vet knows), so if they don’t fall on their own she will have to get them pulled—go under anesthesia. Has anyone ever done a baby teeth pull + cleaning?

Will my dog ever calm down??

My Maltipoo is about 11 months old but still has SO much energy. We try to take him on at least one walk per day and will take him out to run leash free at our apartment dog park (only when there are no other dogs) and give him daily lick mats and kongs but he still will not settle unless we put him in the crate and force him to nap. We will also reward him with treats or words if we do catch him on the rare occasion he just sits calmly even if it’s for a little bit. Is this normal? Or am I doomed?? Am I missing something? Please send help

Struggling with dog allergy after getting a Maltipoo puppy

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice and experiences, hoping someone here has been in a similar shoes.

We brought home our little Maltipoo boy, Cinnamon, a little over a week ago. I’ve always imagined my life with a dog, and I felt like now was the right time. Back in January, I visited an allergist who confirmed through testing that I am highly allergic to dogs. After doing a lot of research, I came across the Maltipoo breed, which sounded very promising. My husband and I even visited a breeder, where I spent over an hour with two adult Maltipoos and had absolutely no allergic reaction – this is what gave us the courage to go for it.

During the first week at home, I didn’t have any symptoms either. Since his vaccination schedule isn't complete yet, we’ve carried him around in our arms a few times. After about 20–30 minutes of direct skin contact, I got a mild local skin reaction that cleared up within an hour. However, two days ago, my allergy really flared up: I'm struggling with a stuffy nose and a slightly scratchy throat. 😢

What we’ve been doing from the very beginning:

The bedroom is a completely dog-free zone, and he is not allowed on the couch either.

I mop every two days, and we clean constantly and very thoroughly.

We wash his things regularly, and I wash my hands immediately after every interaction.

I’ve wiped him down three times with water mixed with a bit of mild dog shampoo (he hasn't had a full bath yet).

A Philips PureProtect Quiet 2200 Series smart air purifier is already on its way for the living room, where he spends most of his time.

Long-term allergy medication and immunotherapy are not options in my current situation.

I am really heartbroken because we absolutely adore this puppy, and I don’t want to give up. Have any of you been through this? Is there any hope that my body will get used to him, or that it will ease up once he gets out of the puppy stage? I would be incredibly grateful for any tips, proven tricks, or specific products (shampoos, sprays, etc.)! 🙏

I live in Hungary, a little side information.

UPDATE: At the dog's first vet check-up, they found out that he has giardia. Actually, ever since he's been with us, he has been undergoing deworming treatment and can only do his business inside the apartment on a puppy pad. We cannot take him out on the street because he hasn't finished his vaccination series yet, and also to prevent him from getting reinfected due to the giardia.

Five years ago, I was still able to live full-time with a golden retriever together with my family. It was a detached house where I lived on the upper floor, and the dog was on the ground floor. I don't remember having any allergy symptoms.

Happy 4th of July Frens🇺🇸🎇

I hope everyone is having a happy holiday!! I went on a boat and people watching at a festival where we live. There were lots of people and a few other dogs. It was getting hot so now we came home and I’m taking a nap. Stay safe frens, it might be a scary night with all the fireworks. 🇺🇸🎇❤️ Love Noelle
