Writing another Marauders fic, would love to hear about your favorite headcanons or ideas about them that you like seeing in fics!
And, on the contrary, what don't you like in marauders fanfiction?
Obviously, everyone has different tastes, but I'd love to get more ideas from y'all :)

I'm in the process of writing a Marauders fanfic (which I know there are many of, but I still want to do it, mostly for me) but it's so difficult to find actual information about the events of their school years. Can someone help me a bit with the timeline and the events that we know of? Basically, anything that you know.
hello sorry i want to get into marauders however I don’t really understand where the content is. is it all fanfiction or is there a book or something i should be reading. THANK YOU LMK
Hi! I'm looking for other people around my age who love the Marauders and might want to chat.
I would love to meet other people who are into cosplay, fanfics, or just talking about the Marauders.
I'm not really looking for a huge server—I was hoping to find a few people to actually get to know. All the communities I've joined are massive and I feel like it's really hard to talk or get to know people.
If you're around my age and looking for Marauders friends too, feel free to comment or send me a message!
Posting fanfic for the very first time (I'm usually more of a playwright or article writer) - really excited to finally be sharing my long-fic rewrite/fix-it of Prisoner of Azkaban from Lupin's POV. He's been a lot of fun to slip into, and I'm really hoping others enjoy spending time with him too!

Summary - Remus Lupin never intended for his return to Hogwarts to be anything more than a necessary duty. He came to teach, to protect Harry, and to keep his secrets buried deep under a layer of well-worn tweed. He didn't plan on meeting a Hufflepuff student who understood his silence better than his words, or on finding his best friend again in the most unexpected way.
In the halls where ghosts of his past still linger, Remus is about to discover that home isn't a place you return to—it’s the people who pull you back from the edge.
yeah that’s it
Guys, I'm currently sleep-deprived at an airport waiting for a flight (for Edinburgh, yay), but I've been reading this fic and WOW. Just WOW. I love how it's written, but most of all, it's mindblowing. I'm hoping some of you will read it so we can discuss it, haha. I'm currently at Chapter 13 (so please write at which chapter you are when writing a comment if you decide to read it!). Also, I fucking love Remus Lupin.
Here's the fic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/16126862?view\_full\_work=true
Enjoy!! :)
Hey, I was thinking about a story idea that could be really awesome, but I don't know if people in the community would like it :
When Sirius wakes up, he’s alone against the cold wall of an elevator. The place he arrives in is strange, and stranger still. He can’t escape it without the others. They watch him like an animal. There’s a boy who’s taken an interest in him, Evan, was it?
James seems to hold the group together, welcoming to some, keeping the wilder ones like Barty in check, though nothing about James actually frightens him. And then there’s a boy, Remus, who barely speaks, who disappears into the maze every night, the same maze Sirius was warned never to go near.
Then everything changes. A girl appears, Lily, the first one any of them has ever seen.
Miles away, when Marlene wakes up, she’s alone against the cold wall of an elevator. The place she arrives in is strange too, and colder still, walls of ice closing in on every side. She wants to run.
She wants to leave them all behind and find whatever’s left of her memory, which keeps slipping through her fingers like something stolen.
The girls move like a hive, tired, disciplined, always working. Dorcas leads them, sharp and steady. Mary flinches at shadows now, ever since she saw something out there she won’t talk about. Sibyll talks of visions no one should believe and yet they all do, word for word. Pandora is one of the only ones who still believes there’s something beyond these walls, something worth finding.
Every night, the maze answers back roars in the dark, and flames burning an impossible blue.
Then Regulus arrives. He says he remembers. Everyone else has forgotten.
Anyway, that was basically the summary
There will be a Remus facing a problem similar to his werewolf issue though
I'll let you discover it for yourselves (no, it won't be lycanthropy, but just picture him in the « Maze Runner » universe).
The main pairings will be as follows: Wolfstar, Dorlene, and Marylene (which will be the most developed), followed by Jegulus, then Rosekiller, and finally Jily (this might seem contradictory to some, but don't worry they will all be included).
Does the story appeal to you or not? I’ll call it : Where the Dead Don’t Rest
I’m trying to understand how lycanthropy actually works in the Harry Potter world beyond “you get bitten and become a werewolf.”
Has Rowling/Pottermore ever explained what physically or magically happens after the bite? Like how the curse spreads…..whether it’s treated as venom, a blood-borne curse, a magical infection or something else?
Also, are there any fanfics that go into the biology or magical mechanics of lycanthropy in a believable way? I’m especially interested in the period between the bite and the first full moon, how healers deal with it, and what the body is actually going through.
I’d love any canon references or fic recommendations!
Ive watched the harry potter movies wyen i was younger but only remember stuff with harry. And no close to nothing about marauders except,
1, its about like Harry's parents and their friends
2, im apparently like this guy called barty?
And 3, something about Wolfsburg being basically cannon.
Anyways, I need help figuring out the cosplay for this barty guy and maybe some facts that make me not completely lost?
In which chapter does James and Regulus get together? I’m on chapter 39 right now and I just need them to GET TOGETHER
Hi there! I’m looking for a marauders-era canon timeline. Is there one that’s been put out there? Im looking for the facts only - no fan input. I’m making this timeline myself but it would be super helpful if there was already one out there, to check everything I’m writing is correct. Thank you so much in advance for any info :)
Ac for the first 2 images: brainspikez on twt 3rd image is an excerpt from the birthday fic I wrote for him. It has all of the Marauders and one of my friends' yumeship with Regulus Black (the oc of which is to be found in image 2) The fic link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/87603431 Ac for the last image: mintyicy on toyhouse
I was wondering if anyone could help me storm some ideas for a plot issue I've had -
Essentially, I've been writing an AU were things are a little different and the marauders find out about horcruxes during the first wizarding war (Regulus decides to go to Sirius rather than doing it on his own)
I've got plots sorted for how they find the ring, diary and cup (and of course Regulus already knows where the locket is) but the diadem is causing... issues
Essentially because the Diadem is so well hidden, the marauders don't know about the Room of Requirement (and even if they did, it literally changes), and Voldemort hid it in the '50s, it's difficult to come up with a reason they might find intel on its whereabouts.
I have got a separate plot line where Remus and Sirius are in Borgin and Burkes and hide in the vanishing cabinet and accidentally get sent to Hogwarts - which I briefly considered a brilliant idea for how they could end up finding it. But then I realised that the Vanishing cabinet is only in the Room of Requirement because it gets moved when Peeves breaks it in Chamber of Secrets/when Fred and George shove Montague in it in Order of the Phoenix. Previous to this it sits on the first floor. So that idea went out the window.
I've thought and thought about it for so long but keep coming up short for a logical reason they might find it. Please, can anyone help me come up with something - even if it's just a hint of an idea?
(Btw, them finding horcruxes isn't even the main point of this fic, which is why this problem is so annoying)
SPOILERS FOR ALL THE YOUNG DUDES
I’ve been recommended atyd ever since I joined this fandom years and years ago. The fic that’s “longer than the bible”/possibly the most popular fic on the entirety of ao3 (alleged, I haven’t checked).
I really do want to read it!!! Especially considering that, from what I understand, the majority of the widely accepted fanon came from that fic. But I know that it’s very very sad post-prank, and that Sirius and Remus probably aren’t okay for a long time after.
I’m more than willing to divulge my time into reading the nearly 200 chapters, but the only thing holding me back is the ending. I skimmed the last chapter (I know I shouldn’t have, but I had next to no context for the majority of it and I’ve heard mixed reactions so I wanted to check) and the ending seemed a bit… Rushed?
Remus and Grant break up, Sirius and Remus hash out what I expect was many chapters worth of resentment in a short conversation, then the book ends with them verbally deciding to love each other anyway. Which I get in theory is a poetic end. But from where I stand, having no context, it seems like at least 3-4+ chapters worth of satisfying endings squeezed into a couple paragraphs.
Considering the author doesn’t seem to have any interest in a sequel, for those of you who read it all the way through, did you feel that the ending was satisfying? Or did you feel satisfied with what you got out of the ending considering the time you put in?
Edit:
I know it’s hypocritical considering I read ahead, but pls try to answer with no spoilers!! Other than what I wrote in the post. Just please no context, only opinions!
I’ve been trying to make a Marauders-era story for a long time now, and before I start properly writing it, I’d love to know what people think about the premise.
It’s an alternate ending, but not in the sense of “everyone survives because the OC saves the day.” My idea is more like a butterfly effect. If one believable person had existed alongside the Marauders for all seven years, wouldn’t that naturally change some of the people around her? Not because like she’s the centre of the universe, but because that’s simply how relationships work.
The OC is a Gryffindor pureblood girl who enters Hogwarts the same year as the Marauders. She’s not a prodigy or Chosen One or some supergirl type of thing also and not someone who immediately becomes everyone’s best friend. She has her own life, her own friends, Quidditch, family problems, misunderstandings, and her own storyline completely separate from the Marauders. The friendships grow the same way real friendships do through years of shared classes, arguments, inside jokes, mistakes, awkward moments, Quidditch practices, Hogsmeade trips, and surviving school together.
Because she’s around for all seven years, some canon characters naturally develop a little differently. Sirius, for eg, is still Sirius. He’s reckless, arrogant, loyal, impulsive, and deeply complicated. But canon Sirius never really had someone in his life equivalent to what Lily eventually became for James….someone who quietly challenged him, argued with him when he was wrong, and simply became part of his everyday life over the years. I’m quiet interested in exploring how that changes him without changing who he fundamentally is.
The same goes for the others. I don’t want Peter to be a cartoon villain from day one. I am heavily inspired from TLE version characters and I want to have my part in it. Lily character and james are so well written in that i loved them and would like them that way. The OC doesn’t replace their arcs; she intersects with them, and those intersections slowly create a different future.
So the real story I’m interested in isn’t the romance or even the alternate ending. It’s seven years of Hogwarts life…friendships forming gradually, people growing up, politics creeping into the castle, the First Wizarding War getting closer every year, and one extra relationship here or one extra conversation there slowly creating ripples that eventually make the ending diverge from canon.
Pls give me your honest opinions on this… i would really like to know. Basically i am someone who loves sirius and really want for him to have these good of a life because all i ever think of is the broken child behind that face he keeps showing to world. TLE version sirius by ch darling has made me understand.
