New player - village not working great

Hello everyone, I’ve started playing this game for a couple days now and I’ve realised that my settlement has the anvil icon in the top left corner and a number of 22. I have buildings with no workers that I can see is a problem from management, but it was only about 7 “!”. I’m not sure if the storage shed is close enough to all of the work places, and when I build further away from storage, it won’t automatically use the materials in there anymore for new buildings. I find myself having to go back to collect logs to then build. Some workers are standing idle due to lack of materials, when I ask my husband how our kingdom is doing he says that our workers need more crafting materials. Is this because I haven’t purchased enough crafts from the technology menus? Also, how do you get your workers to produce exactly enough materials in time for say the smithy’s? Trying to make it self sustainable is so hard. Thank you for any advice.

New player with a question about potential village size

I'm just getting into this game and playing in the Valley. I've started a village on top of a steep hill, but I also want to use the area at the bottom of the hill for crop fields and the shoreline of the lake for fishing. It's quite a large area though, so I'm wondering if there any limits on the size of the village you can build, or if it's possible to use all that space?

(Also, as an aside, is there a way to track down specific vendors in a particular village without having to open up a dialogue with literally every NPC you meet in that village? I don't know why they just tell you where a vendor lives, instead of, y'know, mentioning the vendor's name. Seems like that would be more useful.)

Overall I'm enjoying the game so far, though! :)

Does anyone know how to get 700 hops in 4 seasons? I just planted 25 hop seedlings but I realize the challenge ends in the summer and I won’t have time to complete it since I can only harvest it in the autumn… please help

Any advice on what to build next

I am slowly adding aesthetic area's to my current village. Most are without real ingame function.

Based on ideas I got from this sub I added a rock garden, a harbor, a 'zen' garden and will soon be building a graveyard.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I might build next? Preferable with sample pictures (or links to pictures).

Can you still get siblings if you take over the heir?

There was this thing a few years ago when you take over your heir your oh character and their spouse could have more kids. Is that still in the game? I think it's cool to get to have siblings in the village.

What is the equivalent of writer’s block for decorating?

Hello everyone. Falimir, son of Racimir, needs your help! He has undertaken a massive village overhaul of the area shown in the pictures. But… he doesn’t know what to do!

This is the tavern by a little creek and serves as the town center (market is elsewhere already). So I would have a road there obviously. I would like my own version of a firepit area for travelers, and part of the park (with the pond) will be turned into an outside terrace for the tavern. I can’t envision how I want things to connect so it’s not awkward. I will put many trees, bushes and flowers around it all.

After hours of trying things and never saving, I can’t look at this spot without going crazy, so I decided to ask MD enthusiasts. What do you see in those spots?

Fishing hut not producing

EDIT/SOLUTION: Problem solved thanks to comments. They are drinking the fish like psychos. I did not think to check the allowed drinks. Thank you everyone who suggested answers!

ORIGINAL: Hey everyone, I could use some help troubleshooting why my fishing hut is not producing anything.

  • It is staffed by a capable and content worker
  • It is stocked with fishing spears and knives which are recognized by the management menu and being consumed over time
  • Assignments are active, work intensity is set, and I see the progress bars for each assignment move in the management menu
  • I heavily micromanage allowed food items and have toggled each fish and fish meat on and off multiple times. They are well fed through other food items. Fish or fish meat I add to food storage manually will not be consumed
  • If I put a fish into food storage, it will be consumed by its respective "Make Fish Meat" work order but no fish meat will appear
  • I have checked the fish hut storage, resource storage, and food storage, and there are no items produced by the fishing hut. The food management menu also does not detect any fish or fish meat items in storage
  • My understanding is this doesn't matter but my fishing hut is maybe a 10 second stroll from my storages, it is just outside of my personal crafting radius
  • Annual assignments are enabled, not seasonal. I've been trying for at least 3 seasons now
  • I'm a new player on year 3 autumn and have not had previous success with the fishing hut

I've tried to research it a few times but I can't seem to find a solution matching my problem. Any advice or ideas are appreciated!

Winter is just too cold

I know it gets cold at night but, I guess cooking your feet solves that.

Current Oxbow build

Still a work in progress. I love this area north of Piastovia, though it's a pain to build in. This is becoming my new favorite build

I might be stupid

So I started playing again after about 6 months and I swear I remember being able to have seasonal management for the barn because it’s really annoying to always change around the grain production after harvests through the year

No incursions in game, but...

I absolutely love *Medieval Dynasty*. Once the main story is done, it’s the best "cozy" game I’ve ever played. Simply managing the village, strolling through it, gradually unlocking new building and decorative elements, traveling in autumn to make sales and visit other towns, or helping villagers with their tasks—it’s all incredibly rewarding. HOWEVER—and this has been discussed countless times—it lacks a real challenge, a certain tension to keep you on your toes. The devs ruled out raids, and I’m fine with that. But... what about a middle ground? Imagine an event: a guy arrives on horseback, or you find someone wounded, or you hear a rumor that a band of outlaws is pillaging a certain village. You get their approximate location. The event could result in a villager being kidnapped, the loss of specific resources, or villagers becoming frightened and less productive for the season. The way to deal with it would be to hunt them down and kill them. You aren't forced to do it, the consequences aren't catastrophic, and you can keep playing your cozy game. But if you do take it on, you gain reputation and loot from them, plus increased happiness for your people.

I think this would be a great, non-intrusive way to add some endgame content.

What do you think?

Do the type of meals and drinks affect my villagers’ mood?

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering whether meals and drinks - or rather, the type of meals and drinks - affect my villagers’ mood.

The reason I’m asking is that I’d like to build a beautiful village at my own pace, so I’ve set all of my villagers’ needs to zero. They don’t need food, drinks, or firewood.

But by doing that, am I preventing their happiness from increasing?

Has hunting got harder?

I've had this game for a few years but only recently got back into it (it's currently 3am, if that's any indication into how much it's sucked me back in!), I have over 100 hours in this game but between the last time I played it and now, there have been a lot of changes and I'm loving rediscovering everything.

However.

Is it just me getting slow with my reflexes in old age, or is hunting way harder than it used to be? Back in the day I was traumatising Bambis all over the forest, but now I can't for the life of me take down a deer. Rabbits, foxes, badgers, ducks: no problem. But deer? No bucking chance.

I'm playing on normal difficulty, but the deer make it seem otherwise. Did something change?
