There has been a run of movie biopics with MJ being the most recent. What artist from the 70s, 80s, or 90s would you like to see an accurate biopic of?

Does anyone remember What About Your Friends?
So I was minding my business on YouTube, going down one of those late‑night rabbit holes, and I stumbled on What About Your Friends — that CBS Schoolbreak Special from ‘95. And tell me why this little hour‑long movie was actually hitting?
It’s about three homegirls getting ready to graduate, and life starts switching up on them. Folks growing, drifting, getting in their feelings — all that real friendship stuff we ALL been through. And it wasn’t on that corny after‑school special energy either… it felt honest.
And the cast had me like “hold on now”:
Lark Voorhies (yes, THEE Lisa Turtle), Malinda Williams (She’ll always be Bird to me on Soul Food), and Monica Calhoun (Mia from The Best Man) just popped up like it was nothing.
Plus it was directed by Gina Prince‑Bythewood before she became Gina Prince‑Bythewood. Like sis went from this to Love & Basketball.
It’s wild because I wasn’t even around when it aired — I only discovered it through YouTube — but it still hits like something we all should’ve grown up watching. It’s one of those specials that came and went so fast you almost think you imagined it.
It’s still up on YouTube too, just sitting there being iconic for no reason.
Anybody else remember this? Or am I the only one who found it way later and got hooked?
Hand made collage art
Peace Peace! Here are some of my handmade collage art. My style is Afrofuturism. I like to see us in space, different planets, the spirit world and alternate realities etc etc.
- New Universe (8x10 Canvas)
- Black Man Science (8x10 Canvas)
- Wider Horizons (8x10 Canvas)
- God and Chaos (6x8 Canvas)
Making collage art reminds me of creating Hip Hop beats. I'm a sample-based Hip Hop producer so the similarities are pretty much the same.

My art is deeply influenced by nostalgia
Just the mundanity of life, I like to romanticize it. Everyone says my art gives 80s/90s would love to know your opinion! I know nothing about those era ( I wasn’t born yet😭) so I can’t really tell.
Anyways, what are your favorite memories, simple days that you look back on with fondness. I’d love to know. And I hope you’re having a magical day. :)
