Making new friends

Hey, I shifted from Hiranandani Thane to Mulund West (18M) and I want to make new friends here to hangout with.

As I’m new here I’m not aware of the prime hangout spots of Mulund people (it was The Walk/Viviana Mall back in Thane). I only have one friend in Mulund and she takes me to Cypress and Runwal Greens, but I want to socialize with more people of my age (college-going students mainly).

Please suggest me spots where I can meet people. Thank You!

Does Jio 5G suck for everyone?

At this point, it’s not even 3G speed at my office and home. Are Airtel and/or Vi better in Mulund?

What is actually going on with Mulund lately?

I’ve been reading Mulund-related news pretty regularly lately, and honestly, I’m starting to wonder if the area has genuinely been having a lot of problems or if I’m just noticing it more because I keep coming across these reports.

There seems to be some incident almost every other day. Recently there was a fire at LIC Colony, and a woman lost her life after being hit by a bus. There was also a similar fatal incident around Mulund station a few months ago, and a biker lost his life on Navghar Road after an accident involving an autorickshaw.

Then there are completely different kinds of cases — a paneer seller getting involved in an extortion case, a man allegedly attempting to sexually assault a woman, the fire at Mulund station, etc.

Flooding and waterlogging also seem to be a recurring issue, including at Mulund station. There was even waterlogging outside Agarwal Hospital, and I read about people facing delays of 15–20 hours related to sonography around the same time.

Now there’s also the redevelopment/rehabilitation issue involving people from Dharavi being shifted to Mulund, which has been getting attention.

I understand that incidents happen everywhere, especially in a city like Mumbai, and obviously news reports can create a very negative perception because normal everyday life isn’t newsworthy. I’m not saying Mulund is inherently unsafe or that all of these incidents are connected.

But when you keep seeing accidents, fires, crime-related cases and flooding from the same area, it does make you wonder whether there’s an actual pattern or whether it’s just confirmation bias from consuming too much local news.

For people who actually live in Mulund, especially Mulund West, how do you see the situation? Are these issues genuinely noticeable in everyday life, or does the news make Mulund look much worse than it actually is?

Looking for reliable Garba classes in Thane West (Beginner-friendly) 🕺

Hey everyone!

With Navratri coming up, I am looking to join some good Garba lasses in the Thane (West) or Mulund areas.

I am looking for a place that is beginner-friendly rather than just basic Bollywood freestyle.

If you have personally attended any classes or know of reputable groups/studios currently taking registrations, please drop their names, locations, and approximate fees below.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

I built Mundhe Map - a map of all FDA crackdowns!

The recent FDA crackdown by Tukaram Mundhe and his team got me thinking - how many of these places have we eaten at, ordered from, or had on our list?

So I built Mundhe Map: a simple map of publicly reported food-safety enforcement actions across Maharashtra.

See each restaurant's timeline, licence status and credible sources reporting it → https://mundhe-map.info

Looking for Amit Kumar – GEBBS, Airoli (around 2018)

I’m looking for a person named Amit Kumar. We worked together at GEBBS in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, around 2018.

At that time, he was in his early 30s, used to live in Mulund, near Wagle Estate, and was bald/had very little hair.

I’ve lost his contact number and really need to get in touch with him. If anyone knows him or can help me reconnect with him, please DM me.

If you have his Instagram ID, please share it with me privately. Thank you!

Kampa in East seriously needs a food safety inspection

Having personally ended up with food poisoning twice after eating at Kampa in mulund east. It wasn’t a one-off which is why I eventually stopped eating there altogether. I obviously can’t say for certain that the restaurant caused it, but having the same thing happen twice after eating there specially after having their chicken has made me seriously concerned about their food hygiene and handling practices. I feel like this place needs to come under radar if FDA. Has anyone else experienced something similar after eating there?
