Anyone else notice how tough the KOTR matches are? Strikes, standing and running almost always blocked. Recovering attacks never work. Have to really just weak grapple your way through. One miss and the whole match flips. Bossman just had a special within 2 minutes.

Does he have a site that's updated or know of any site he stored his guides or codes on for wm2k and revenge?

Bit late to the party, but I've been diving into wrestling romhacks and texture mods for a while, and I've been playing lots of ECW Born To Be Wired for the past couple weeks, as someone who gets bored of things quick, the new features breathe new life into this game for me. I love being able to set up tables and put my opponents through them at will, barbed wire matches are a blast, and not to mention I LOVE the 5 count pin because it can make matches go a lot longer if you're doing a Pay Per View or a big main event, and I love a good 30-50 minute clinic without any reason once in a while. Can't wait to play WWF Backlash whenever that comes out publicly, and I hope that RetroRandyPrice and his team keep developing this stuff because I'm really blown away.

Now onto WWF Warzone Badd Blood, which is also top tier, because I always for some reason had a soft spot for the late New Gen/early Attitude roster of the mid-90's. And the nostalgia from playing WWF Warzone looooong ago. It's nice to have a new way to experience that, and I'm also stoked to see what RRP, SSJ_Kratos, Wallywood and BAMP among whoever else comes up releases in the future.

No Mercy and Wrestlemania 2000 are my favorite video games of all time, and it's amazing to see what people can create with these games. I've also played a bit of Prime Time Wrestling and Saturday Night's Main Event plus some of the other ones, and everything about every romhack I've tried has something amazing to offer. I'm very optimistic about the future of N64 wrestling mods.

What's the lowdown on this mod?

What feature from an earlier AKI game do you wish had survived into No Mercy?

For all the things WWF No Mercy got right, AKI's road to its final N64 wrestling game wasn't strictly additive. Some interesting ideas from earlier games were changed or left behind entirely. Virtual Pro Wrestling 2, for example, had second-level Special grapples and fighting-style systems that didn't make the trip intact to No Mercy.

For more than 25 years, that's basically been the deal: modders can perform miracles with these games, but they're still working within the architecture and limitations of an N64 title.

Recompilation could change that conversation.

All six N64 AKI wrestling games now have experimental static recomp projects capable of running them natively on modern PCs. More importantly, recompilation turns N64 machine code into native code that can be patched and modified, opening possibilities beyond traditional ROM hacking.

We're still early, so "possible" shouldn't be confused with "easy." But it raises a fascinating question:

Instead of asking what modders can replace in No Mercy, we may eventually be asking what they can restore, combine, and add.

So if you could resurrect one feature from any earlier AKI wrestling game and bring it into a modernized No Mercy, what are you taking?
