Gopher Netplay Tournament/Event ?

I would love to get some tournaments or some sort of online community for netplay going.

For those of you who do not know, there is a very simple emulator called Gopher64 that is extremely easy to get set up for Netplay. It works with all AKI roms and romhacks that we've tried.

From my experience, 1 vs 1 matches work fine, but introducing more than 2 humans in the session causes subtansial lag for at least one player. As fun as multiman matches are, I'd be inclined to suggest most matches are limited to 1v1s

Open to ideas/suggesstions/people who have experience running these sort of things who may be interested in helping us organize them.

On top of developing these mods, everyone on the team loves netplay and we will gladly face all of you in the squared circle. Maybe we could figure out something worthwhile non-monetary to put on the line.

Opening this up for community discussion. Something we've long internally talked about but never gotten the ball rolling on. We'd all love to see something like this come about.

What say you r/N64WrestlingGameMods ?

Phase One

Get your forks and spoons ready, in 2026 we feast.

Depending on how some other things shake out--there may be another surprise or two along the way before the big winter release.

The only hint I'm gonna give about the Winter release: it's going to be our equivelent of an Avengers movie. This is the big one.

Stay tuned. :)

Happy 1 week anniversary to r/N64WrestlingGameMods !

GETTING STARTED: How To Get These Free Mods

DO NOT pay for Reproductions. These mods are FREE and intended for all free of charge. If you pay, the money is going to resellers, NOT to the original creators. Do not support repros.

To get started, you will need your original, legally-owned backup ROM copy of your AKI game. then simply go to this website:

https://patcher.aki.guide/

Select the game you want, upload your original rom, it will produce the patched ROM.

Most of these ROMs are compatible on real hardware and the emulator of your choice.

👋 Welcome to r/N64WrestlingGameMods - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/SSJ_Kratos, a founding moderator of r/N64WrestlingGameMods.

This is our new home for all things related to Be A Man Prodcutions. Moving forward, nothing will be posted to r/N64WrestlingGames so I encourage all of you that support our work and want to stay in the loop to come check it out here.

To be very brief and explain this move: there is a particular mod on r/N64WrestlingGames who is harrassing our team and I'm done with it. There is a reason literally no other creator in the AKI community will engage with that subreddit. Be A Man Productions were the new kids on the block and we didn't know any better.

Now we know.

On top of being an asshole, he just accused me of contributing nothing to the AKI Community. Fuck him, I will not post another pixel of an image or character of a post in that sub. All of my updates live here now, whether we get 0 subs or a million.

Much love to all the real ones.

What to Post
Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. Feel free to share your thoughts, photos, or questions about the AKI romhacking scene.

Community Vibe
We're all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive. Let's build a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing and connecting.

Starrcade Edition: Entrance Music Update

Hi all, this is Ssark, author of WCW/nWo Revenge: Starrcade Edition.

It’s been about two weeks since release, and I wanted to take a moment to address the status of the mod and the much anticipated Redux version with Entrance Music.

As most of you know, RetroRandy released Revenge Redux a few days before Starrcade Edition came out. He immediately went to work integrating Starrcade into Redux and had it finished within a few days.

So first and foremost: thanks Randy. You’re the fucking GOAT.

The Redux version is basically ready to go. But before I release it, there’s another issue I need to address:

The Jank.

As many of you have experienced, there are quite a few gameplay irregularities that can happen during matches. Weird behavior when attempting diving moves. Wrestlers doing things they shouldn’t when attempting apron dives. Wrestlers warping into the ring when doing grapple moves on the outside. Occasional crashes and other irregularities.

A few points about that.

First, I am an amateur.

This is my first ROM hacking project. I am not RetroRandy. I am not GMSpectre. I am not RagDas. I am not Freem. I never claimed to be. Before this project, I had never even opened a hex editor. A year ago, I was just a shmuck here on r/N64WrestlingGames and decided I wanted to dive in, learn, and contribute. The fact that Starrcade Edition exists at all is honestly kind of ridiculous when I stop and think about it. This was a huge project for a first attempt, and there are definitely some rough edges.

Second, moveset editing in Revenge is NOT like No Mercy, VPW2, or WrestleMania 2000. Those games have built in CAW modes. If you want to create a new moveset, you build it in CAW mode, copy some values into hex, and you’re basically done.

Revenge DOES NOT work that way.

Every move has to be manually implemented across multiple files. Every wrestler has roughly 255 move values, 255 damage values, and additional parameter values that all have to work together correctly. Across a 72-man roster, that’s nearly 37,000 individual values that can potentially impact gameplay behavior. If even a handful of them are wrong, you start getting weirdness.

For example, if you give somebody a top rope moonsault, you’d think the game would automatically know to have the wrestler climb the turnbuckle facing the correct direction. Nope. That’s controlled somewhere else. There are dozens of little things like that throughout the game.

All of that is to say: moveset hacking in Revenge is complicated, and a lot of the jank people have reported stems directly from that.

Now that RetroRandy has put so much work into bringing Starrcade Edition into Redux, I feel even more obligated to get this stuff cleaned up before releasing it. Randy’s name carries a lot of weight in this community and I don’t want to slap his name on something that’s still buggy and janky.

The good news is that every issue that’s been identified so far appears to be fixable… The bad news is that fixing them and testing them takes time. A lot of time. And a lot of elbow grease.

So rather than rush Redux out the door, I’m taking the opportunity to clean up as much of this stuff as possible first. My goal is still to have the Redux version released by the end of June.

I need to get this wrapped up so I can work with Wally and the rest of the team on getting Saturday Night’s Main Event and Prime Time across the finish line.

After that, we’ll be moving on to another project that we haven’t announced publicly yet. I won’t spoil it today, but honestly… it might be the project I’m most excited about out of everything we’ve done so far.

Thanks again to everyone who’s downloaded the mod, reported bugs, posted feedback, streamed it, reviewed it, and enjoyed it. If you took your “nWo 4 Life” vows seriously, this one was for you :)

Entrance Themes are coming. But not until the jank is addressed.

Starrcade Edition: 1.01 Day 1 Bugfix Patch

Hi all,

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the Starrcade edition. I spent a year working on it and I'm glad you have all had a good time.

I don't want to issue a ton of bugfix patches, I'd rather do them all at once, but there were a handful of major bugs in the first 24 hours that I felt needed to be addressed immediately. As such here is a 1.01 version of the patch for you to download and install on a fresh version of Revenge.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/h8tt62lmhi8h60f/Patch.rar/file

^^ Patch is available at this link, C-Drive I'm sure will update the patcher.aki site whenever he sees this and gets a chance

Bug Fixes for 1.01:

  • Fixed Raven's glitched crotch texture on attires 2 & 3
  • Fixed Lex Luger's Spinning Torture Rack (was acting like a pin instead of a submission)
  • Fixed Bam Bam Bigelow's Finisher Damage Values (was not doing damage before)
  • Fixed Syxx's ducking attack sound effects (was incorrectly playing a "GIVE UP" sound effect"
  • Fixed Broken Bulldog Stolen Front Special (was causing an error that resulted in both players in an armbar after the move was performed)

There are a few other minor issues and touch ups that need to be done but those can be saved for a later date

Thank you all. I hope everyone is having fun out there, playing with the big boys :)
