Non-Believers may say "How do you know your bones are strong if you've not taken risk for proof?"

To them I say, one need not experience to reserve their throne of Strong Boner, for the faith in one's structure is intrinsic.

Once the seed of doubt hath been sown, the merited badge of BBB is fastened. Why must you seek words of validation if you possess true confidence in the strength of your composition?

Unite, my fellow Strong Boners, for your skeletal make-up is superior to those of brittle bone skeptics.

Am I... a fraud?!

To be clear, I've never broken a damn bone in my life.

However, I've trained martial arts for roughly 20years. I've had some pretty gnarly bruising (no black magic doctor is going to use spells to see inside this body!)

Bruising is all I've ever had concrete proof of. I've never had a cast, never seen a doctor post *injury*.

So heres my question, I've always blamed soft tissue, it's in the name. It's gonna tenderize now and again.

But I can't shake the feeling someone would argue "fractures exist". To them I say, what fractures? And conditioning one's nerve endings / bone density (yes it's a thing) surely isn't a BBB characteristic.

Thoughts?

This myth that breaking bones during CPR means it's good CPR needs to be stopped

I just saw a poll on this sub for whether a broken bone during CPR meant you're a BBB. Yes, I did like thinking about this argument but jokes aside, some of the comments have me worried and I reckoned the comment I left in the post might not reach a good amount of people due to how old the post was.

Please take this seriously.

I'm a former CPR and first aid trainer. I also taught paramedics on proper handling of spinal injuries and other stuff.

Breaking bones is NOT the goal here. Yes, they can happen if the patient's profile shows there's quite a high likelihood. They could have pre-existing conditions like osteoporosis which leads to brittle bones.

Does that mean you stop CPR to avoid breaking their bones? Nope, broken ribcages are hardly the concern when cardiac arrest is the focus here, so continue CPR after READJUSTING your hand position.

Do I then mean to say that you should go out of your way to break somebody's bones? Hell nah, we aren't looking to give someone a punctured liver or lung. Not to mention the amounts of sharp tiny bone fragments which would cause internal bleeding and in turn, lead to worse oxygen delivery to the rest of the body (the brain in particular) which is something we need to avoid when the technique we are employing is meant to prioritise exactly that.

TIdr, broken bones can happen even with the right technique. But do not go out of your way to hear that grotesque "crunch".

Edit: This isn't some shitpost about whether those who had bones broken during CPR are BBBs. It's not a poll and I couldn't care less about the banter just for this thread. It's to educate or discuss.

Roommate has broken knuckles, thinks they aren't a BBB.

Settle this debate. Roommate has broken knuckles in fist fights. Does that make them a BBB? Even if they broke their knuckles when breaking someone else's brittle bones?

I fell off my bike

I got several huge bruises on my legs, sprained a finger, and a couple of scrapes. However my bones remain intact. I am proud to say that the strength of my bones has proven itself once again

Severe PIP Joint Stiffness One Month After Index Finger Fracture Surgery – How Long Did It Take You to Regain Motion?

Age: 22
Sex: Male
Height: 190 cm
Weight: 92 kg
Medications: None currently
Smoking Status: Smoker
Current Medical Issue: Severe stiffness of the PIP joint after surgery for a fracture-dislocation
Duration: 1 month since surgery
Location: Right index finger

Hi everyone,

I had surgery one month ago for a fracture-dislocation involving the PIP joint (the middle joint) of my right index finger. There is still an implant inside the finger.

My main concern is severe stiffness in the PIP joint. The joint feels extremely tight and is very difficult to bend, almost as if it is stuck. I have recently started physiotherapy and finger exercises.

I am not looking for a personal diagnosis, but I would like to know whether this degree of stiffness is common after this type of injury and what the usual recovery timeline may be.

I would also appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar injury:
- How long did it take before your finger started moving better?
- Were you eventually able to make a full fist?
- How much did physiotherapy help?

Thank you very much for your time and for sharing your experiences.

Nearly lost my membership, but my fat ass saved me

I was riding my e-scooter down a bike lane when a truck cut me off. In my attempt to stop, I lost traction and slid out under the truck. The back wheel rolled right over me and I was absolutely terrified, not only that I could lose my life, but that I would no longer truly be a boner. After an extensive hospital visit where I had many xrays done, confirming my bones were as intact and healthy as ever, I pulled the video from my camera mounted on my scooter. The rear wheel of the boneless tacoma went smoothly over my fat estrogenized behind, distributing the weight, saving my internal organs and precious bones. Remember, strengthen your bones, but a bit of padding doesn't hurt

Do Ribs Broken During CPR Make You a BBB?

Someone surfaced this question: are you still a strong boner if your ribs were broken during CPR?

We all know Doctors are trained in black magic, so their bone breaking abilities don’t count. But what about EMTs? Or any average person who has been trained in CPR?

Curious to see what everyone thinks!

My experience with a broken ankle which needed surgery

Sooo where do I start,

I do a lot of crazy shit and nothing ever happens to me but I somehow managed to break my ankle doing more or less a normal task.

I went to the emergency room and had a cast put on with a follow up the week after,

It resulted that I needed surgery and a plate to fix the Weber b break I had.. fuck.

So I had surgery which was painful but didn’t need many pain killers as the pain went after the next day or 2, too bad I didn’t get any oxys would have been a good excuse lol.

So I’m told that 2 weeks post op I will have a follow up and stitches removed,

I was hoping maybe I’d be transferred into a walking booker then but it didn’t happen, up until this point I had a back slab cast which was surprisingly comfortable, had to adapt whole life around not having legs which was shit, but after the 2 week mark and removing the stitches I got the fiber glass cast put on for a further 2 weeks.

It was almost like the closer the day came the more the cast was annoying me,

Somehow after feeling like forever this period past I had the cast removed, to be transferred to a walking boot.

The surgeon was impressed with my range of movement considering it had been immobile for 5 weeks and so was my physio therapist.

(I had been on Test & HGH since around the injury for gym)

This helped the healing a lot apart from the vitamins, rest and protein I was taking in.

Now it’s been almost 6 weeks and I removed the walking boot 2 days ago, was meant to be kept until the full 6 weeks, and I can almost walk normally with a little pain

Anyway that’s my experience, got any questions hit me up,

Over all not the best experience but happy it’s over more or less

Resorption

I couldn’t find a cut and dry answer. What if the bone doesn’t break or fracture, but it basically disappears? Would that still be considered broken?

Edit: we derailed, so I took out the distraction.
