Seeing the news that RESCENE has joined NewJeans in becoming the only other girl group to place three songs simultaneously within the MelOn TOP100’s Top 5.

This incredible achievement inspired me to take a deeper look at just how ridiculously dominant NewJeans’ original run was 👀👀
The Daily Chart: On January 3, 2023, only one day after OMG was released, NewJeans had already claimed all three top positions. Fun fact: Ditto would go on to spend a record-breaking 99 days at #1 on Melon’s daily chart at the time.
The Weekly Chart: For the week of January 9–15, NewJeans officially swept the entire weekly Top 3. Fun fact: “Attention” was also sitting pretty at #7 that week! 🔥
They THEN (because there is more.) maintained the #1, #2 and #3 positions for an incredible 10 consecutive weeks!!!
The Monthly Chart: NewJeans finished January with Ditto, OMG and Hype Boy occupying the Top 3. Then they REPEATED it in February, And AGAIN in March✨ oh GodJeans (insert fainting southern Church lady)
They became the FIRST EVER artist in Melon’s history to sweep the monthly Top 3 for three consecutive months.
This wasn’t about hourly peaks or a debut-day album rush. NewJeans✨👖 completely locked down Melon’s DAILY, WEEKLY and MONTHLY rankings with three different songs, including Hype Boy, which was already six months old. They didn’t simply place three songs within the Top 5. They occupied #1, #2 and #3 and refused to move for an entire quarter.
