This guy made a pretty sick and informative video about Christian Nu Metal. What bands would you guys have added to this list?

The Sound and Emotion of Pre-Emo/Nu-Emo (first time)

This is my first time making a playlist here, it's clearly inspired by IGotSatan posts, which I consider pure art, The list might look a little disorganized.

Yesterday I posted here that I wanted progressive nu metal albums or bands

Could you recommend any Nu Emo bands or albums, or similar ones, besides Fingertight, Die Trying, and Still Naive?

Jason Gleed- Follow Me Now (2007)

I remember this song distinctly from the 2007 Alvin And The Chipmunks film, I've never seen the show The Mentalist, but this is the only high quality version, sans Chipmunks. Enjoy the 2000s vibes

I see that nobody here has said anything about the Spanish band Area 62

Area 62 was a Spanish nu metal / rap metal band formed during the early 2000s, originally connected to Gran Canaria before later relocating to Barcelona in order to grow within Spain’s alternative metal scene. The band became known in the underground European nu metal community for combining heavy downtuned riffs, rap-influenced vocals, emotional atmospheres, electronic programming, and socially conscious Spanish-language lyrics. Their sound blended elements of nu metal, rap metal, alternative metal, groove-oriented riffing, and subtle electronics, creating a style that balanced aggression, melancholy, introspection, and urban energy. Unlike many mainstream rap metal bands of the era, Area 62 focused heavily on emotional conflict, personal identity, social criticism, alienation, political frustration, and internal struggle, giving their music a darker and more reflective tone.

The band’s known lineup included Roma on vocals, Johnny on bass, Atturchayayne on vocals, Poe on drums, and Ivan on guitar and electronic programming. Musically, they are often compared to other Spanish alternative metal and nu metal bands such as Kannon, Skunk D.F., Coilbox, and Hora Zulu, although Area 62 leaned more into emotional rap-oriented songwriting and atmospheric textures.

Their first major release was the 2001 demo/album Rompe el Silencio, which featured a rawer and more aggressive underground rap metal sound influenced by early nu metal. Songs such as “No,” “Revolución,” “Secretos de Estado,” “Poder,” “Venganza,” and “Mujer Canaria” established the band’s identity through politically charged themes, emotional intensity, and heavy urban aesthetics. Although the production was rough and underground, the release gained attention within Spanish alternative metal circles for its energy and authenticity.

In 2007, Area 62 released Quién Soy, the band’s most recognized and polished work. Compared to their earlier material, the album incorporated cleaner production, stronger electronic elements, darker atmospheres, and more mature songwriting while still maintaining the emotional aggression and groove-heavy foundations of their sound. Tracks such as “Quién Soy,” “El Dolor,” “S.O.S.,” “Fe Ciega,” “Nuevo Despertar,” and “Genocidio en Sao Paulo” became some of the band’s most notable songs within the Spanish underground nu metal scene. The album was mixed in Barcelona and mastered in Finland by Mika Jussila, known for working with major metal acts such as Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and HIM, which gave the record a more professional and expansive sound than many underground Spanish nu metal releases of the era.

Throughout their career, Area 62 shared stages with important Spanish heavy bands including Hamlet, Koma, Soziedad Alkoholika, Narco, and Boikot. Their live performances were known for their intensity, emotional delivery, aggressive audience interaction, and distinctly urban early-2000s aesthetic.

Although Area 62 never achieved major commercial success, the band later developed a cult reputation among fans of underground Hispanic nu metal and European rap-oriented alternative metal. Today they are often rediscovered through underground metal archives, YouTube uploads, Reddit discussions, and niche nu metal communities, where they are considered one of the hidden gems of the Spanish nu metal movement. Their music especially appeals to listeners interested in emotional nu metal, rap-oriented alternative metal, atmospheric underground heavy music, and early-2000s European nu metal culture.

Maybe I included too much information and text, but I wanted you to appreciate and listen to them.
