Wanted to set up a thread for if anyone zeros out or is still negative!

I’m a grad student and I’m still sitting at a negative balance, I keep reading everyone’s posts and seems like everyone has either already gotten their refund or zeroed out, what say you?

Normally, I would have gotten my refund email out by now (and had no issues in the summer), but I haven't, so I got worried and called FA. I was informed that I had a graduation hold (I am a 2nd-degree graduate student), but admissions and the registrar's office told me I don't have any registration or account holds, so I should be fine. I called FA back; they said they didn't see any holds, placed me on hold to triple-check, then came back and said there was still a hold. Has anyone else been having these issues with FA? I am registered for in-person courses, and they are both 16 weeks, so I know it's not that.

So I’m ODUglobal and just got off the phone with financial aid and reason they didn’t release my loan is because I’m only taking 1- 3 credit class for the first 8 weeks and the same for the second 8 weeks. The way they are making this for online students doesn’t seem flexible. Reason I’m only taking one class per session is because I’m 8 months pregnant and I give birth in October. And I’m pretty sure in the spring I’ll be doing the same thing.

Received an email today at 4:55pm that my refund has been processed to my checking account. So be on the lookout!

I am an ODUGlobal student and it’s split to the two 8-weeks. I got the first 8-week refund.

ETA: my first term was this summer which I actually had to pay out of pocket for but my employer reimbursed me. This refund was direct deposited and is for the Fall semester (first term). I will get another refund for the second term when that starts. I did update my direct deposit last week. I don’t normally get a refund (when I attended in the past) so IDK what is normal for me yet as far as refund timing. I just saw a lot of posts asking when and then randomly got the email and wanted to let ppl know it’s on the way.

I also got a statement update on the 15th and it still showed the full negative balance but yesterday morning it only showed the first term and not the second in my account. Looked different than before and I received the email before 5.

My refund was in my account midnight. I didn’t check because the email said it could take up to 5 days.

Hello, idk if this is a dumb question or not but if we already have an ID from last year do we need a new one or can we use that one??

And if we lose the old one what do we do?

I know this is probably flooding this thread but I need to know, are they splitting up the refunds due to the 8 week online courses? I do not have an online class until october, so I would get that refund then?

I was recently moved from Gresham to Proximity for my ODU housing assignment, and I’ve seen some reviews mentioning pest problems, which is a little concerning.
I noticed ODU Housing and Residence Life will have a presence at the apartments this year. Has anyone who lives there or has lived there recently had issues with pests? If so, were they taken care of? Also, does anyone know if ODU has done any recent exterminating or deep cleaning before students move in?

Hey so I wanted to ask if you classmates know when my direct deposit 💵 will be available in my bank account because I applied to be aided Financially and I haven’t received the aid that is financial yet.

Just making a thread to see when everyone will have a negative balance or zero out. mainly zero out though because I’ve noticed most of us has been sitting on a negative balance.

Is anyone else waiting for their grants and loans to be disbursed?

Any other ODUGlobal graduate/doctoral students having Fall financial aid issues?

About two weeks ago, my estimated Fall aid was showing on my account. Now it’s completely gone with no explanation, and my classes start Tuesday.

I’m also receiving emails saying I’m registered for a First 8-week course, although I’m a Ph.D. student and my courses are 16 weeks. Between the new BBAY/8-week changes and financial aid, I’m wondering if something is being coded incorrectly.

Communication isn’t helping either. I emailed campuspayments@touchnet.com, which was a working contact as recently as Saturday, and it came back invalid today.
I only learned about the BBAY changes because I happened to find the information on ODU’s website this summer.

I received my MPA from ODU, so I’m not new to dealing with Financial Aid here. It wasn’t great before, but now…whew. 😩

I just got an email that ODU dropped me from a class because it’s no longer being taught, then reenrolled me in a class i took 2 years ago.

I wonder if this attempt to overhaul the system without prep or notice is falling apart.

Hello, on my payment schedule it says estimated August 17th for aid, does anyone know if our financial aid should be credited to our bill today ? ( Online classes undergrad)

I would call but I know a lot of people are calling. Also is our financial aid going to be split between the 8 weeks now? Basically getting two refunds ?

When will professors start to upload to canvas?
