Why do people write everywhere that OD will be cancelled?

Seriously, why do they write almost every year that OD will be cancelled just like PT, even though no one has ever written that about Death Stranding? It feels like people want this game cancelled

I honestly think OD: Knock is dropping in the first half of 2027. What do you think?

Point 1: KJP’s usual marketing timeline Look at the pattern here.
Both DS1 and DS2 launched roughly 1 year and 5 months after we got our first look at actual gameplay.

DS1: Gameplay reveal (June 2018) ➔ Launch (Nov 2019)
DS2: Gameplay reveal (Feb 2024) ➔ Launch (July 2025)
OD: Game play reveal (Sep 2025)

If Kojima sticks to his usual playbook, that lines us up perfectly for a February 2027 release.

Point 2: The scale of the game and KJP's insane dev speed We all know KJP is a powerhouse that churns out massive, polished open-world AAA games in like 3 to 4 years.

But OD is a completely different beast. Kojima himself said it’s more of a smaller, indie-like project with an episodic structure, probably around 5 hours per episode.
If they started full production on Episode 1 (Knock) around 2024, it’s gotta be nearly wrapped by now.

I know some people are gonna say, "But the SAG-AFTRA strike pushed performance capture back to June this year!"
But come on, this is Kojima we're talking about. Back during DS1, they filmed Mads Mikkelsen in August 2016, and this absolute madman already had those exact scenes edited and ready for the Game Awards trailer by December that same year. 4 months!

Since OD is way smaller in scope, post-production for the cutscenes is gonna be a breeze once they wrap filming. So yeah, my money is on a early 2027 launch for Episode 1.

I used the same lighting technique i used from that one post of the red dress in the O.D Knock trailer

I think there's nothing giant i found in the images but still something i have found : In the door it looks like there's something behind it , it looks like an leg but i might be wrong if it's not , the monster in the windows has more darker hair colors in its hands and it looks like it's wearing an black shirt (i guess?) , and the one i found more interesting : Hunter's feets are probably not human feets but instead (i think) is an animal's foot , like people used to say (an sheep or goat? , idk)

OD will likely be an episodic, seasonal game just like Silent Hills

The following are all concepts that Kojima himself talked about back in 2014:

Silent Hills: "Make it episode by episode and release them early, with episodes 2 to 4 making up the 1st season. If it's popular, we move on to the 2nd season. If it fails, we can just stop. It allows us to manage risks."

"You shouldn't spend too much money on horror. When a game becomes a massive triple-A title, there are various demands, and you have to expand the scope and add all kinds of elements. When that happens with horror, the whole thing falls apart."

OD: "It's a small-scale, indie-like project, even in terms of budget. 'Knock' is something I am designing myself. There is also another part being made based on Jordan Peele's vision of horror, along with various other types of horror. All of those together make up the larger project called OD."

Just an small theory for OD : can Lisa (P.T) have an chance to reappear in OD but with different lore and also redesigned to fit the game?

What films do you think Hideo Kojima is drawing inspiration from for OD?

With the very little we’ve seen so far from OD, what films do you think Hideo Kojima might be inspired by? He’s always pulled from tons of cinematic influences in his games, so based on this brief glimpse, which movies come to mind for you?

What i have so far on the letters above the hooks

I am fairly confident on LIAR and CRYBABY, ANGEL and CRANKY might need more work, below are more guesses on single letters (not meant to be incomplete words) to help others.

LIAR ANGEL CRYBABY CRANKY is what i have so far on the meat hook letters

A photo Kojima took during the OD planning retreat. Might contain some hints? (October 2023)

What's written on the sticky note: Knit, Drawing Pictures, Snail, Hair..., Frog, Sheep

DVD: THE EXORCIST, Don't Look Up/Joyu-rei (1996)

i think i figured it out!

this is an extension to the eye/spectator = a player theory.

i believe its layers more investing than that alone!

i have a feeling, the 'player' (main) will be face-scanned and their emotions and micro expressions will be casted for the 'screamer' JUST LIKE we see in the teaser with Sophia Lilis!
And when we switch from 1st person (sophia's POV) to where we see her terrified face, its the POV of the eye! as in the teaser hits truly close to home as to how this game will essentially feel to play!!! it was right in front of us this whole time...

Remember?

"For all Players & Screamers"!!!!!!

Also, think of the very first teaser with sophia, hunter and udo, where they repeated a cryptic line and Sophia went AAAAAAAHH. i think thats JUST LIKE what we'll be doing as we start the game!

This would be a face scan (to then render our faces in engine? might be a reach, but its kojima...)

I mean, just rewatch that teaser, it literally looks like their facial movements and expressions were being sampled and logged into a machine.
Look at the way their faces are captured, its just so clinical and deliberately methodical cinematography (like how their entire body neck down + their shoulders are ommited)

==============================================

Why i think this crack pot speculation might not be far fetched-

I mean Kojima already said this is even more unique than Death stranding AND we also know that MANY studios rejected the game, which must mean its got to be complex thing if multiple studio reject a game from Hideo Kojima himself.

We can expect a lot of innovation.

Especially because, look at the new generation and their trends with games

They watch streamers more so than anything. not even gameplay videos on yt (like i did as a kid), but streamers.

Kojima probably is looking into tapping into that dynamic and fully integrating it straight through hardcoding it into the video game it self.

Stop thinking that the player face scanning theory is possible

I understand it's fun to come up with theories and all that. But since the very first trailer for OD, people have been speculating that the game will be able to scan your face during gameplay and even integrate it into the engine in real time? It's literally impossible, and even if it were possible, it runs the risk of acting unpredictably and creating a lot of bugs, which could easily ruin the atmosphere of a horror game and turn it all into a clown show. All these theories point to the first teaser in 2023, but that trailer was just that because it was more of a technical demonstration of how beautiful the Metahuman facial animation will be in the game. There's no way you, players, will be using facial capture in a game played by Hollywood actors, sigh. We just need to move on and discard these theories, which already sound very unconvincing and far-fetched. Kojima has already given us a solid hint about how this unique system will work. He says it's meant to help players who struggle with horror games like this; facial motion capture doesn't fit in and wouldn't help with such mechanics. I don't think we learned anything from Death Stranding, where it was also quite difficult to imagine how that game would work. But remember all the crazy theories that surrounded DS1 before its release, and remember how everything turned out to be much simpler than everyone thought.
