This pull actually stun locked my brain!

i kid you not when I say as soon as I got pulled I actually lost all brain power. What is the highest form of rage bait in ow and why is it lifeweaver mains. It even crossed my mind to just close the app and gtfo ow for the day😹😹.

you can actually see the moment where once I land on the ground i was just to dumbfounded to understand why I got pulled.

After 9 years

Calibration push went crazy but I hit Masters for the first time in my OW career. Cant wait for the epic losing streak! Anyway feels good to finally feel like Im truly not a gold or low plat player anymore.

Edit: this isn't a new account but this is on Open Queue I am Diamond 3 on role Queue as healer. I didn't post this looking for any validation and by no means am i saying that im some OW god. Im just proud to see it and it made me happy so I wanted to post

Was I in the wrong for pulling my tank when they were nearly dead?

Last week I was in a competitive match on Midtown where I was playing lifeweaver and my tank was roadhog. The first round we were defending and when there was a team fight, the roadhog would place themselves in the middle of the enemy team, around corners where it made it difficult for myself and the other support to heal them. I was initially not worried since they could heal themselves, but they would quickly take so much damage that there would be no time for their own healing to recover.

There were many times where their health would fall dangerously low so I would pull them so that they could be healed. When the round eventually ended, they immediately went to chat to curse me out, calling me a “f**king idiot”and to stop pulling them because they were “fully healed.” I said okay and moved on with the next round, healing them where I could and not pulling as their behavior continued the same as the previous round.

Ultimately, we won the game but not without my tank complaining that I wasn’t pulling them enough and not healing them, despite me having the most healing in the game with over 14k. Was I in the wrong for pulling the tank in the first round and not pulling them the next?

Am I too old to be addicted to overwatch?😅

Hey everyone!

The other day I had one of those moments where my age suddenly hit me…

I’m an OG Call of Duty player. I grew up playing the original Modern Warfare, MW2 and MW3, and I even played competitively back then. That probably gives away that I’m in my 30s. 😅

I came back to Overwatch in February after not playing for years, and I’ve been absolutely hooked ever since. I usually play around an hour a day if I have time (some days not at all), and a bit more on weekends if I don’t have other plans.

After a really good Competitive game, another player added me. We chatted for a bit, and out of curiosity I asked how old he was.

He said… 20.

For some reason that really made me stop and think. I suddenly realized there’s over a 10-year age gap between us, yet we’re grinding the same ranked games together.

So it made me wonder…

Am I actually “too old” to be playing and enjoying a game like Overwatch?

I know gaming has no age limit, but I was curious how old everyone here is. Are there many people in their 30s (or even older) still grinding Competitive, or is it mostly a younger player base nowadays?

EDIT: IM SO THANKFUL FOR EACH OF THESE COMMENTS, YOU GUYS ARE LEGENDS AND THIS COMMUNITY IS AMAZING!!!!

I MADE THIS POST OUT OF CURIOSITY AND IM OVERWHELMED BY THE AMAZING COMMENTS YOU GUYS HAVE!!!!

THANK YOU🙏🏻

10 Years A Bronze

I can't do it anymore.

I can't - I feel INSANE!

I went 0-5 in comp today and in my last match I check my Level 251 Torb, 1 Tricks account because he just kept running in and exploding.

Please, tell me WHY this man had 900+ hours in comp alone and had played since the 2016 LAUNCH!!!!

Yet hadn't ranked out of silver...

I kid you not his peak was gold 5 - HE STARTED AS BRONZE 1!!!!!

10 YEARS of playing this game!!! 7 of being JUST DPS and 1 tricking Torb and you couldn't learn how to WAIT TO GROUP UP????

HOW????

I got into this game with my partner last YEAR and I have ranked from Bronze 3 all the way to a Gold 3 peak!!! I'm happy being Gold, I know its where I belong! That's my skill level!!!

But every game is either newbies vs Smurfs or a 1 trick who goes 20 deaths before you check their account and realise they've been hard stuck since 2019!!!!!!

I know I'm just another drop in the ocean of this exact same complaint but for the love of GOD Blizzard: Fix your game's matchmaking!

Hopeful or Ozhiy sens

I got to masters comp wise and on other new accounts before I took a hiatus I was playing against gm and high masters everytime when doing my 50 win qp, but I’m over my sense bc it’s hard to track and is flick heavy rather than tracking. I am good on it but if anyone has any better I’d advice I’d be down. My sensitivity right now is 90v 77h, 38h boost at max deadzone, 36v boost at max deadzone, 99 smoothing 0 aim ease in, 65 window, 100 aim assist ease in. Deadzones are 0.01 inner, 0.22 outer left, 0.06 inner, 1.00 outer. This sense is honsestly really good to me but it lacks in tracking people. If I was to improve on this sense what would you think I need to change to improve on tracking rather than flicking? Should I move to hopeful or ozhiy sense? Also I’m currently away from my main setup so I won’t be playing comp, that being the case for the time being which would you prefer if I was to switch hope or ozhiy? If anyone has any ideas though on what I could try and switch for my own sens to help with tracking I’ll also take that too? In advance thank you for anyone who gives their input. In actuality my real question would be what yall think is the better sense to learn hopeful or ozhiy, but if yall have a godly insight on what i could change on my actual sense that’d be much appreciated. I’m currently on a big ass tv on 60 fps bc im living with someone else but im usually on a 27 in monitor 120fps on my actual setup. Also im doing a drunk post so my bad if this is hard to understand my b. Last thing if I was to get kontrolfreaks would yall recommend inferno or cyclone ones and do only PlayStation ones work on gamesir controllers?(im thinking about buying one but dk if Xbox ones work with them).

Why is soldier 20 dps mean it's bunker time in overwatch?

Read this somewhere and I'm curious why does 1 point of damage increase mean it's bunker time

Pink rank

Hit the pink rank at the end of last season. i only climbed to C5, before I got hit with the loss streak at the start of this season. usually when hitting any new rank it comes with a pretty solid loss streak afterwards And that’s exactly what happened. I went from C5 with a no win loss streak all the way down to GM3 on both roles. although knowing I could hit champ once gave me the confidence to keep playing. I eventually went on a winstreak on both roles back to C5 and then almost hit C3.

feels pretty good climbing as a solo queuer vs so many stacks in this rank, plus I did it 0 comms. tbh as long as you play consistently and don’t tilt you can climb.

Exponential ramp settings?

Hey all. Was wondering if anyone had any exponential ramp settings they wouldn’t mind sharing. The recent aim assist changes are affecting my current settings which I spent weeks tweaking.
Feels like the lock on is entirely missing now.
Yes, skill issue from my part. 💬

Stadium is unplayable?

Posting this here as I’d imagine it’s just a console issue. I’m on PS5 and as stadium gets into the later rounds, things get really weird and people start doing that thing where they slide through walls and pause. I’m wondering if anyone else has this issue or knows how it can be fixed or lessened.

Flicking hero’s vs Tracking Hero’s? Rechoosing my mains.

I play lots of overwatch but it’s only 1000 hours in that I’m realizing that my flicking aim is better than my tracking aim overall!
In the last 2-ish months i’ve tried the JEENZ custom game for aim training. I’ve tried it when I felt at my best and worst mechanically and every time my flicking is better than tracking.
Low, medium, and High sense? Linear? Expo? Dual Zone? Never matters🤷🏾it’s always flicking better than tracking

What are some good heros in every role that reward good flicks?

I’m only asking because I’m reconsidering my mains and I’d love some guidance. 😇
On Tank, I play Dva, Domina, and Mauga
On Damage, I play Widowmaker, Bastion, and Soldier
On Support, I play Ana, Kiriko, & Lifeweaver

Any suggestions or tips? I’d super appreciate it

Also maybe a debatable question, but…
What requires better flicking? hitscan or projectile heroes?

i started playing Overwatch this January and i started playing comp around March. i do not play fps games at all except fortnite unranked anddd i play on switch :p

i placed Bronze 3 for DPS. omg it was HELL climbing out of Bronze 3. i was in there for MONTHS. i basically one tricked Vendetta and sometimes Sym to get out lol. i moved to Bronze 2 like two weeks ago and i just reached Bronze 1 like five days ago and now two days later, i’m in Silver!!!
