Re-igniting the Overwatch flame.

Overwatch is a game that has evolved a lot over the past decade. It has changed to the point where people who loved it four years ago could genuinely hate it today.

I've been playing consistently again for the past couple of weeks after taking a three-year break. I just didn't vibe with the whole Overwatch 2 situation and what felt like a scam, so I decided to walk away from the game.

But now... I'm having a lot of fun.

I forgot how much I loved the characters, the gameplay, the abilities, the ultimates, and especially the teamwork.

I remember being extremely competitive. I would get tilted, frustrated, and genuinely upset when things didn't go my way. Now, I'm just having fun. Maybe I grew up and became more mature about competitive games, but I honestly don't care that much when I lose anymore.

Funny enough, back when I was completely obsessed with climbing the ranks, I was stuck in Platinum. Now that I'm much more relaxed about it, I'm only a couple of games away from Grandmaster.

When you really get into Overwatch, it's easy to see all of its flaws: balance issues, questionable matchmaking, and all the other things that can make the experience frustrating. But if you're playing casually and just looking to have fun with friends, it's still, in my opinion, one of the best shooters out there. And it's free-to-play.

The only major complaint I have is that 5v5 still feels like an actual torture simulator when you're playing Tank. 6v6, though? Super fun.

If you're looking for a multiplayer game with a lot of content, I'd say give Overwatch a shot. For me, at least, it just doesn't get old.

New to this game - THIS IS WONDERFUL

I started playing this game last week, thanks to the hype around the Switch 2 port I decided to give it a try on my PS5.

I was really excited at first and found myself watching videos about the jobs and the whole dynamic of this game since it's my first MMORPG ever, I was ready for the "slow start" everyone talked about.

And while it is a slow start, I've been loving this game. It's just so addicting, I'm currently level 18 as a Bard Lalafell and everytime I log in there's a sense of wonder and discovery that keeps me glued to the screen.

I'm on the free trial but I will be buying the game eventually, specially because I feel like I'm missing out on some social aspects of the game and the market. But idk, is it that big of a deal? Regardless, it's been a joy to play. I'm still getting used to the UI and the menus, personally I find them a bit confussing but I guess it's standard for these type of games.

Why did it take me so long to play Life Is Strange?

I've never been big on Telltale-style games. I can appreciate them, but I've never really dived into the genre as much as I'd like.

Life Is Strange is, from an outside perspective, one of the biggest (if not the biggest) franchises in this genre. As someone who likes exploring gaming culture as a whole, it's almost impossible not to know about its existence.

I finally got to play Life Is Strange because of my girlfriend. She watched playthroughs of it when she was a teenager and became a fan, but she never had the chance to actually play it until a couple of weeks ago. Once she finished it, she lent me her copy.

And oh boy... I really, liked it.

If you're not familiar with the genre or have never heard of Life Is Strange, it's essentially a story-driven game where your choices determine the outcome of important interactions and events throughout the game.

The gameplay revolves around talking to NPCs, getting to know them, inspecting your surroundings for clues, and making dialogue choices that can affect later events. The twist is that the main character can rewind time.

But before getting into that mechanic, I'd like to talk a bit about the story.

The protagonist is Max Caulfield, an awkward but kind-hearted 18-year-old photography student at Blackwell Academy. Early in the game, Max discovers she has the ability to manipulate time after witnessing a girl being shot in the school's bathroom during a confrontation with a wealthy student involved in drug dealing. In a moment of panic, she instinctively rewinds time and pulls the fire alarm, preventing the girl's death.

That girl turns out to be Chloe Price, Max's childhood best friend, whom she hasn't seen in years.

From that point on, the story focuses on Max learning the limits of her powers while reconnecting with Chloe, now a rebellious and troubled teenager. Together, they begin investigating the mysterious disappearance of another student, using Max's powers to gather information, sneak into restricted areas, and sometimes avoid death itself.

Trust me, the game does a much better job of setting all this up than I just did.

The best way I can describe the story is as a coming-of-age drama mixed with a murder mystery, all enhanced by supernatural time-travel elements.

It's a really compelling narrative. I was hooked not only by the plot itself but also by how it's presented. There are plenty of quiet moments where you're simply exploring a classroom or Max's dorm room, and those moments do a fantastic job of developing both the characters and the world around them. It often feels surprisingly cozy despite the darker themes.

One criticism I've seen about Life Is Strange is that it can be a little corny at times, and... honestly, I agree to an extent. Max occasionally says things like "Wowzer," which was cringe at first but then I ended up finding it cute.

Even so, I think that awkwardness actually adds to the game's charm.

Life Is Strange has a very distinctive style. I love the art direction, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. The original score is excellent, but where the game truly shines is in its use of licensed music. The songs are placed perfectly during emotional moments, and I already know I'll be adding a few of those artists to my playlists.

The rewind mechanic also gives the gameplay more depth than you'd probably expect from this type of game. Most of the time you'll use it to rethink a decision, revisit a conversation after learning new information, or solve environmental puzzles. Since Max stays in the same physical position after rewinding, the game also creates some clever situations around that mechanic.

Overall, I really enjoyed Life Is Strange.

I connected with Max in a lot of ways, and I think the game blends teenage drama, supernatural elements, and mystery remarkably well.

Playing it for the first time at 26 does make some of the dialogue feel a little cheesy. My girlfriend agrees, but she also pointed out that when she first experienced it at 15, none of that really stood out to her. Maybe that's just part of growing older and experiencing a story centered around teenagers from a different perspective.

Either way, I think Life Is Strange is a fantastic entry point if you're new to this type of games, and I'm really glad I finally gave it a chance.

Can't seem to be able to do things right

Hi.

I (26M) have been in a relationship with my girlfriend (24F) for almost four years, but things have been difficult for the past two and a half.

Over the years, there have been several occasions where she has broken down because of certain behaviors of mine. The main issue is that I struggle to open up emotionally, and that has made her question how I feel about her. It has led her to believe that I don't truly want to be with her anymore or that I'm no longer in love with her.

The first time this happened, I agreed with almost everything she said. I felt absolutely horrible because I love her so much, and the thought of making her unhappy was devastating to me. She comes from a very difficult family environment, especially because of her relationship with her mother. Her home has never really felt like a safe place for her, so I've always wanted to be that safe place instead. Realizing that I was making her feel the opposite left me feeling incredibly guilty.

One thing she said has stayed with me ever since. She told me she was convinced that I didn't love her anymore and that I was only with her out of habit. Every time I tried to reassure her that she was the most important person in my life, she'd either laugh or simply say, "You know that's not true."

We eventually got through that argument, but she wanted us to stop talking for a couple of weeks. I desperately didn't want that to happen. We're both pretty goofy people, so I even made her a PowerPoint presentation explaining why I thought taking a break was a bad idea. It was both funny and romantic. She loved it, told me she loved me, and said she wanted to be with me, but she still felt she needed some time apart. We agreed to it, although we ended up talking again and working things out about a week later.

Things were relatively okay for a while, but similar situations have continued to happen ever since. Usually, she'll bottle up things that bother her until they reach a breaking point, and then we'll have a one- or two-hour conversation where she goes through everything I've done wrong over the previous months. To be fair, this isn't as frequent as it might sound, maybe once every four months? but when it happens, it's emotionally exhausting.

At this point, I feel like I'm constantly under pressure. I never feel like I'm good enough. Every time we go on a date or spend time together, I feel like I have to perform perfectly and avoid making even the smallest mistake. I become anxious over little things because I'm always worried they'll eventually turn into another serious discussion.

For the past couple of years, I haven't felt the sense of security I used to have in the relationship—the feeling that no matter what happens, your partner is going to be there for you. Instead, I feel like that security only exists as long as I'm doing everything right. The problem is that even when I think I am, something eventually comes up, and suddenly it feels like I've ruined everything.

Our last major argument happened after we went to the movies. The person sitting behind her kept moving around and kicking her seat, and I didn't say anything to them. She was very hurt that I didn't step in.

Another recent issue was that we usually only see each other once a week, occasionally twice. For some context, Saturdays are my only day off. I leave for work around 6:30 a.m. and don't get home until about 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. She lives about an hour and a half away, so seeing each other during the week isn't very realistic.

I understand that we could still go out for dinner occasionally, but I'm trying to save money because we've talked about moving in together. At the moment, she isn't working because she's trying to start a pastry business. I've been doing everything I can to support her—I help sell her pastries to my coworkers, pay for online ads, and even make deliveries whenever I can. It hasn't really taken off yet, but I genuinely believe it will. She's incredibly talented.

I know this post focuses mostly on the problems, but I don't want to paint an unfair picture of our relationship. When these situations aren't happening, things are genuinely wonderful. We laugh constantly, we enjoy spending time together, and I truly love her. I want to spend my life with her, and I want to do everything I can to make her happy.

The problem is that, lately, I feel like no matter how hard I try, I'm always waiting for the next conversation where I'll find out all the ways I've fallen short.

Finally finished Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, after 4 months

Let me start by saying that this is an amazing game. People will tell you it's full of padding, bloated content, or lazy design, but letting those comments stop you from playing it would be doing yourself a huge disservice.

Rebirth is one of the most detailed games I've ever played. It's one of those games where you can genuinely tell that the people making it love the franchise and care deeply about it.

Almost every side quest is enjoyable and either develops the party members or dives deeper into their backgrounds.

Then there are the minigames. A LOT of minigames. I know they're divisive, but I honestly loved almost all of them. Quite a few could easily be their own standalone games, like Queen's Blood or Chocobo Racing, while others are simply fun or delightfully goofy.

I almost never complete all the side content in open-world games, but Rebirth made me want to do everything. Not only did I complete every side quest and minigame, I even went for the highest rank in all of them.

If you've played the original FFVII, you already know the story is fantastic. Rebirth, of course, takes it in a different direction. Whether you like those changes depends on your opinion of the Remake trilogy, but one thing is undeniable: the presentation is phenomenal.

The combat is also better than Remake's. It's fundamentally the same system, but much more refined. I had an absolute blast with it. I've never been the type of player who experiments with Materia or spends hours optimizing builds, but this game actually made me want to. In the original FFVII I basically used the same Materia setup for 80% of the game, lol.

As great as the story and gameplay are, I already expected them to be. What truly blew me away was the soundtrack.

Almost every theme has multiple arrangements that change depending on the situation. You might hear an upbeat version of Tifa's theme in one scene and a melancholic version in another. Every variation felt unique, and it did wonders for my immersion. Hell, even Chocobo Racing has incredible music, one of the tracks is straight-up metal.

In total, I spent 110 hours with this game, completing the story, every side quest, and every minigame.

I have to admit that, even though I'm only a few trophies away from the Platinum, I won't be going for it. Chadley's Brutal and Legendary simulations, replaying every chapter... even though I loved the game, I think that would be too time-consuming and frustrating. I'd probably end up souring my experience, so I'd rather leave it here while my memories of it are still overwhelmingly positive.

After four months of slowly making my way through this massive game packed with content, I'm happy to say I genuinely loved Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Tonight, I'll be deleting it from my PS5.

Side note: I own the physical version of the game, which means I actually own a copy of the game itself. It's worth remembering that roughly 80% of physical releases still include the complete gold master on the disc. Don't let companies convince you that physical media is worthless.

Advice regarding a mistake I made on a YT Short

I uploaded a Youtube Short that is 1 minute 30 secs long, but I just noticed that I made a mistake when uploading and the short repeats itself, not like shorts usually do but rather its 3 minutes long and plays twice before looping.

Should I delete or unlist and upload it again? Im afraid it will affect metrics because its 3 minutes long and people will probably only watch half of it at best.

It's been up for a couple of hours, about 700 views atm

Question regarding a new vs old channel

Hey guys! I have a question

My YouTube channel is about 7 years old, I have like 7 videos with less than 100 views each (only one has like 600 views or so but most of them are between 20 and 80). My subscriber count is about 28 or smt lol.

I’m going to start uploading more frequently, now that I have a better grasp of video editing, a better mic and overall better ideas for content.

Would I be better off with a new channel or should I use the old one? Since this one has been inactive for A WHILE idk if that affects how new videos will perform or if the YouTube algorithm would even bother getting them out there.

Edit. Idk if it matters but the little views I have on that channel are not exactly organic, I used to spam my videos on forums and a few people bothered to watched them lol

I encountered a funny situation

I started a new channel and videos were doing okay, I had a couple of shorts with 1k+ views, then I uploaded a short were I mentioned AI in the description, it was a “ day 1 Filtering AI out of your feed with video games” short.

That one tanked hard, 2 views in 2 days, felt really weird. On Facebook, it had like 2k views in less than a day.

Today I uploaded another similar video, but avoided mentioning AI in the title/description.

Views are back to normal, growing by the minutes.

This is just a theory but did mentioning AI did something with the algorithm? YouTube has done some changes in their policy regarding AI so maybe it’s much more aggressive than I thought. Specifically on new channels.

That could explain why it did good on Facebook since they don’t have any regulation towards AI that I know of.

Well, if you’re a new channel trying to grow maybe avoid even mentioning AI in your videos.

Just a theory, a YouTuber theory.

Let me paint the picture:

I just started a channel and views were doing ok, I uploaded my third short yesterday and this happened:

Video 1: 1.3k views and 54 likes

Video 2. 1.5k views with 5 comments and 51 likes

Video 3: 1 view

Like, the third video didn’t even get pushed or anything. I uploaded that same video on Facebook and got like 2k views in about 12 hours so the content is at least a bit interesting.

Is this normal? Should I delete it and try again?

The movie appeared randomly on Prime and I just had to watch it.

I really really liked it, the last scene >!with Cheryl!< was very disturbing, honestly it left a whole in my stomach.

The movie as a whole is very entertaining, but that last scene really takes the cake as one of the most haunting I’ve ever watched.

I love found footage movies but 80% of them are very corny and/or just plain bad, the other 20% are amazing movies, no middle ground lol

I’d say The Poughkeepsie tapes are a part of that 20%.

It’s not Noroi level (nothing is really), but it’s pretty good.

Edit:
Wow, people either love this movie or hate it. I'm glad I was on the team that liked it, and I had a good experience watching it. It would’ve been a shame if it hadn’t clicked with me and I had missed out!

I do shorts analyzing videogames in 60 seconds, I was doing the voiceover with TTS and manage to hit 1.3k views on my first short. Then, I tried doing voiceover by myself on a diferent vid and the views are significantly worse.

I used my iPhone's mic and it's not great, it'll be a while before I get a proper mic, so my question is: is it more engaging to do the voiceover with a good and fluid TTS or human voice with a bad mic/sound quality?
