But the possibility of the sommers match up feels so much better to me.

Its sommers ideology itself, my favourite thing about the match up. Sommers entire love ideology preached the complete opposite message Sanji learned in wci. Earlier gaban was called the minister of love and this is why Luffy said he's like Sanji. Sanji facing sommers would redefine his views on love, he would not just love for the sake of it but genuinely start to preach it. Becoming the king of love unlocking acoc. In a way it's him defending his mother's sacrifice to him because she gave herself up for sanji the same thing sommers said why love is false. How can it be love if it results in pain. And Sanji would defeat him knowing that's what love is for, the development is Sanji preaching proper love an independent ideal. Something he can call king ship over which is the cause of his conquers haki. The question sommers proposes to the holy knights (or us the audience) is simple. How can love be real when it can be used to put people in pain. Zoro is sure as hell not going to answer this ideologically. Sanji however can very well do it, his existence alone arguably does. Sora is gone yes but Sanji came from that sacrifice and him defeating sommers and his evil shows what that love and sacrifice did for sanji. Making him a kind selfless man and develops his ideology and takes king ship of it.

FULL SUMMARY

Chapter 1187 starts with Luffy's punch blowing away Imu. Loki is very shocked, and you can see red lightning. Imu creates a small Omen fire with both hands while getting blown away.

In a funny panel, Ragnir tells Luffy that was a good hit, and Loki tells him, "You are talking about the damage I dealt, right? lol."

Luffy tells Loki he needs to take a break, as he is pretty much beat up. Loki gets pissed while wheezing, "A break? Who do you think you are talking to?"

Luffy is sort of shocked to see Imu's flame attack and mentions that this guy is pretty terrifying up close.

The flame that Imu made while getting blown away lands on Loki, and they are talking: "Get on top of the cloud," "It's where the sword pierced him earlier."

Loki is shocked and asks what this is, as it is spreading. Imu uses a new attack named GRUDGE SWORD, which then pierces Loki exactly where the flame was.

Nami uses a lightning attack on Ragnir's ice, and she is backed by Jinbei, Usopp, and Franky. They are all trying to move the ice, but it won't budge. Franky tells them maybe it is diamond, and Usopp asks isn't it water? They talk about touching it and note that it is cold.

In the next panel, Loki comes flying in and crashes into the ice. They are all shocked and talk about the hammer/Ragnir falling on them, lol.

They wonder if Loki got taken out, as he has a big hole in his chest. Ragnir transforms back into a squirrel and is very worried about Loki. The ice behind Loki melts, thus freeing Gunko.

Luffy also got hit with the fire that marked Loki. The fire was on Luffy's jacket, so Luffy throws it away, and the sword goes in that direction.

We get a panel with Sommers and Zoro talking. Sommers tells Zoro, "You're the villain from the village earlier, right? lol, you will get hurt."

Sommers tells Zoro he has no idea how strong he has gotten because of Imu's buff and attacks Zoro, but Zoro dodges it very easily.

The next panel is with Zaza and the kids, and Sanji is there. He assesses that the monster is large and moving with the kids, and he can't save them in option 1. For option 2, he can't bear to watch the screaming kids, but he is stressed out because the monster is a woman, and he can't bring himself to kick her.

The giant warrior can't save the kids either, leaving him in a big dilemma. We can see Ripley crying and her clone saying, "Sorry mommy, I got caught again." Sanji states that for option 3, he doesn't want to see a woman's tears, so he is going to have to give it a go now.

In a flashback, Gaban, Zoro, and Sanji are talking. Gaban tells Zoro how he can help the Pirate King with that (by that, I mean Conqueror's Haki). Sanji asks Gaban, "What about me? I don't have King's Haki."

Gaban tells him he should have it, but he carries a dangerous pride; he can become a king too, truly for Luffy. He tells Sanji that if he wants to see him become the Pirate King, then do it, telling him to forget his pride. It looks like Sanji is about to hit a woman, lol.

On the final page, Luffy is in his Gear 5 form, and the giant is about to face Imu. Imu says, "Joyboy, you are here," and Luffy gets mad, replying, "Don't call me by those different names! I'm Luffy, the man who will become the Pirate King!"
