So if you're on tiktok you might have come across an account claiming to offer a platform you apply for jobs at events particularly gigs and concerts. This is the account @_tekkerzdaily. Their supposed website is gigsinkenya.events

So I tried following the website in their link to see how I can apply. They proceed to prompt you when you try to create an account (should've been my first clue). So I paid the 560 thinking it was a small fee compared to the exclusive opportunities they offer. Come to find out that after you pay you get forwarded to a completely different washwash website, the ones full of affiliate marketing, forex and betting scams.

I was so disappointed, yani Kanairo mnawork overtime hivi kuscam unsuspecting people😭. I thought I was too smart to get scammed but oh well. There goes 500 that I'll never get back. Please go report that account y'all. I would hate for anyone else to fall for that.

TLDR; Got scammed by a fake job posting website.

How do you handle clients who become rude immediately after you give them your service rates?

I’ve been posting about my cleaning business on different social media platforms. At first, I was honestly scared because I wasn’t ready for the matusi ya social media. 😂 But I told myself, I have to start somewhere.

Recently, I made a post about fumigation and pest control huko FB. Thank God, I got 2 clients and several inquiries from it. I’m still waiting for some people to call, but I’m hopeful.

Then this guy calls: “Hey, mnaua kunguni na ngapi?

I ask for the size of the house and location so I can give him an accurate quote. He tells me, and I’m actually happy because he’s quite close to where i live.

I give him the price. Honestly, I didn’t even charge him that much for a single room.

Then he goes: “Acha nikabuy ile ya 50, zitakufa.”😂

Okay, fair enough.

Then he asks what chemicals we use. I explain that we have a proper treatment process, the chemicals we use are not cheap, and we also offer a 2-month follow-up guarantee. If the pests return within that period, we come back and retreat the house at no extra cost.

Mzae aliwaka! 😂😂

And now I’m sitting here thinking, “Did I say something wrong? Ama why did he tell me all that?”😭

I’m still learning how to deal with aggressive clients because, honestly, I want to grow this business. I know not every client will communicate nicely, and I also need to learn how to remain professional when someone is rude.

For those of you who run businesses, how do you handle clients who become rude after hearing your price? Do you explain yourself, stay calm and let them decide, or simply walk away?

I’m genuinely trying to learn. 😂
