Wedding planning in Ottawa

Looking for some assistance- my financee and I are starting to think a bit more seriously about wedding planning and I don’t know where to start.
Any suggestions for Ottawa venues (in the valley or within a reasonable distance), catering, getting a dress, etc etc

Please help a girl out- it’s so overwhelming trying to figure this all out from scratch!

(I’d like to keep things as local as possible)

Has anyone done a perfume bar at their wedding

As the title states, looking for a fun party favour for my guests and thought a perfume bar could be fun. I found two vendors but for people who have experience with them and looking for others to compare pricing and packages.

Anyone who has any experience as a guest attending a wedding with a perfume, pls also share your thoughts! Did you enjoy it? Was it memorable?

Thanks!

Looking for Reviews of Weddings at Le St Laurent Restaurant

Hello! My fiancé and I are currently planning our 30-35 person wedding in 2027 and considering booking Le St Laurent Restaurant for the ceremony and reception venue. I would love your insight on two things if possible:

  1. If you've attended a wedding there (or hosted your own wedding there), I'd love to hear your review of the facility, services, logistics, etc.
  2. If you are down to share pictures of how they set up the venue for the ceremony and the reception, I'd especially love to see those so I can get a better picture in my mind of what to potentially expect! (or if you don't have pics, could you please describe how they set things up?)

We ate dinner there last weekend and LOVED the food and the vibe of the whole venue. We also have a tour scheduled with their events coordinator this afternoon. But I definitely want to hear first-hand accounts of your experience hosting/attending a wedding here to get the non-salesy review of the place. Thanks everyone!

LF photographer – shoot ONLY, I do the editing

Are you a busy photographer that gets bogged down with post-production? We're having a wedding in Ottawa in June 2027 and I'm looking for a photographer that's happy with a quick & simple ~7hr Saturday evening gig – no engagement photos, no photo editing, no frills. Shoot on my memory card and leave it with me when the night's over.

I do some event photography for work and I'm happy to cull and edit, and of course save money. I know this won't appeal to most photographers but if you're interested, please reply here or DM me. Thanks!

Small Wedding Venues Ontario

Hi everyone! I’m in search of somewhere to host a small wedding (likely 30-40 guests) in Ontario. I love the idea of an all inclusive wedding package or non-traditional wedding venues like restaurants with a separate dining room. We’re open to anything in the Ottawa or Niagara areas. Our budget is under $8k for venue & reception. We haven’t set a date but we’re leaning towards an off-season wedding, so somewhere with indoor spaces for ceremony and reception would be ideal but not necessary. We’re looking for the perfect place before we set a date!

Happy to hear any suggestions or personal experiences! TiA

Summer Montebello Brides Beware

Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello is currently in labour unrest and employees, while not on strike, are not wearing their uniforms, and have a very sloppy appearance.

Untucked shirts, shorts, red bandanas, jeans, athletic wear, etc.

The food and most of the service was amazing, but the staff at our events were so sloppily dressed it took away from the aesthetic.

Come prepared with lowered expectations. The overall look of the hotel and peaceful setting helped during these issues.
