Breaking Dynamic Fog

Breaking Dynamic Fog

I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times before, but with the new updates, thought I'd try again. I'm doing a lot of winding tunnels, did half of it as all one area of Fog and realized I needed to have each tunnel its own entity (broken by "doors") so I can Alt-Click without lighting up the entire map. Is there any way to cut a large area of Dynamic fog into smaller pieces? Basically just draw a line thru it with a slice or a break or some such tool made for the purpose, and the result is each side is independent? Image of the left side of it, and there's more on the other side.

How do you make your own extension?

Howdy Owlbear Rodeo users!

I was curious how everyone makes their extensions? I kind of want to make my own, but am unsure where or how to start.

World Explorer

I’m starting up a shadowdark west marches campaign after running some one shots on owlbear. Love the VTT!

I know it’s a shot in the dark, but does anyone know if there’s an extension coming out for hex crawl exploration similar to World Explorer? I saw it highlighted on the glass cannon channel (using foundry) and loved how it could show a full world map and then reveal secrets as they are explored.

Segmented stat bubbles?

On the Stat Bubbles for D&D extension page, it mentions segmented health bars for enemies. I assume this would hide numbers and display as blank bars. But I can't seem to find the setting anywhere.

Help with Fog

Does anyone have advice for how to manage fog? I want to use fog to keep my dungeons spooky and mysterious, especially using Dynamic Fog. Ideally, I would like to have fog that starts off everywhere, but whenever a player enters an area that fog is permanently cleared out. I've been doing this manually using 5-6 different fog boxes and deleting them when the players move, but it would be great to do this more automatically.

Request for an Owlbear.Rodeo Extension for Custom Dice Roll Macros

Hello everyone!

First of all, I'd like to thank the Owlbear team for creating such a simple and wonderful virtual tabletop. I run my games on a 4 GB RAM Celeron computer, and I'm able to GM Curse of Strahd (D&D 5E 2014) with excellent performance thanks to how well optimized Owlbear is.

However, I really miss having an extension that makes it easier to roll attack rolls, damage, spell save DCs, and other common dice macros for D&D.

The current Owlbear dice rollers all use 3D dice, which many of my players' smartphones and low-end computers struggle to run smoothly. This ends up working against one of Owlbear's greatest strengths: its outstanding performance and accessibility on lightweight devices.

As a workaround, I've been using the Tables+ extension, but it's extremely time-consuming to set up because it was designed for random table rolls, not for attack, damage, or spell macros. Even so, it's currently the only extension that allows dice to be rolled directly within Owlbear while displaying the results without relying on 3D animations.

What I'd love to see is something closer to how Roll20 or Foundry VTT handle macros: you simply click a macro, and it automatically posts the action's description, performs the attack roll, and displays the damage if the attack hits.

I believe an extension like this would greatly improve the gameplay experience while preserving Owlbear's biggest advantage: its lightweight, highly optimized performance across virtually any device.

I've also attached some examples of the workaround I've been using with Tables+, so you can better understand what I have in mind.

Using a TV Table Display Help

Hi all,

Our party is starting to use a TV display on our table. I typically use Owlbear for our maps (with every player having it on their screen.) I have a MacBook Pro, and when I tried to extend the display to the TV via HDMI, it was a bit of a mess. I had to super zoom in to get the grid to line up with our minis, and I had to use an incognito mode to get the player view up, since I couldn't cast to the TV (nor did could I access "Player view" from my GM view on Owlbear.) It didn't fill up the screen like I wanted.

tl;dr Any tips on trying to play on a TV table with Owlbear, using real minis on the screen? Appreciate you all!
