Mark your calender, midnight eclipse at August 27-28 (or keep sleeping...)

From https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19gWFitjwF/

Date: August 27-28

Begin: 11:33 PM in HALIFAX TIME on August 27 (Thursday)

Peak Maximum: 1:12 AM in HALIFAX TIME on August 28 (Friday)

Coverage: 96.2% (It`s almost a Blood Moon)

VIEWING TIPS:

No glasses needed! Unlike solar eclipses, lunar eclipses are 100% safe to look at with the naked eye.

Bring binoculars: While not required, binoculars or a telescope will make those crater details and red colors pop!

Check the weather: Clear skies are your best friend tonight.

Just so you guys know, I'm going to bed and need to wake up around 5....

Anyone remember the good old days when you didn't need to ask permission to Electronically unlock the bathrooms at Wendy's :(

Looking to move to PEI

Hi, I’m a licensed plumber in UA Local 46 Ontario looking to relocate to PEI (Charlottetown, Kinkora or Summerside). I’ll be ready to move in about a year’s time. I want to rent for the first year. I was hoping some others plumbers or construction personnel could tell me what the realistic job market is. Ideally, what the job market is for plumbers in UA 721.

Issue 2 of my comic PUNKGUTS is out now!

I'll be at the Better Art Market on Sunday, August 30th at the Arts Guild from 11-4pm selling my art and comics. Stop by if you can!

Otherwise you can find my comics at The Comic Hunter or Back Alley Music. If you're off island they are also on eBay! (Sorry if self-promotion is not allowed).

I have original advertisements for Town City, Blank Canvas Art Supplies, Form Free Branding, and Nortons Jewellers in this issue. All of these local businesses deserve support! (Last issue had Humble Barber and The Comic Hunter advertising as well). I'm trying to manifest my best life, and these cool shops are supporting me to do it. :)

In the image posted are both covers of issue 2 (cover B is by Robert Doan). I'm trying to fund local artists to do variant covers for every issue, so if you're into horror/slashers/punk rock, and like to draw/paint/create let me know!

Good bars in Charlottetown?

I’m visiting family and am old enough to go to bars here now (yay) and am wondering where the good spots are for young people? The kind of bars I go to back home are small dive bars, karaoke bars, gay bars, alternative bars or somewhere to dance.

Born in NFLD, live in Ontario and finally visiting PEI

I am so beyond excited to finally be visiting PEI. Surprising my teen daughter with a 11 day trip leaving tomorrow. Excited to experience some reminders of home in NFLD and get away from the mainland for a bit.

Carney has asked provinces stock US alcohol again. I would like if the honourable Mr Lantz would politely say no.

We declined additional TFWs when offered. Let's decline this too. Two wins in a week for the Conservative government. I would be shocked.

Looking for an electrician recommendation

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a reliable electrical contractor/company for a few small renovation jobs, mainly replacing an old electrical panel. Ideally someone reasonably priced but still good quality.
Any recommendations based on your experience? Thanks! East royalty area behind the KFC 😊

Carpentry apprenticeship

I just got an email today confirming that my application to become an apprentice has been approved and my logbook will be ready in a few weeks. I am confused on how the in school portion of the apprenticeship works and when I should take it because I see that block 1 has a recommendation of 1620 hours but I don’t have that. Can anyone help?

Calling casual service workers at Health PEI - What are your hours like?

Hey guys!

I am considering applying to be a casual service worker with Health PEI in Charlottetown and/or somewhere in Eastern PEI, but before I do I was wondering what the hours are like? Are you able to get full-time hours most of the time with the combination of scheduled shifts and call-ins? Right now the posts that I can see are for creating a casual list/call-in only. Does anyone have experiences with this? How many hours a week are you getting?

PS - I know it's not necessarily the greatest place to work and there are lots of issues with Health PEI, but I would also love to know your experiences of being a casual service worker with Health PEI too!

Thanks in advance and I hope everyone is having a great week!

Edited for clarity*

Temporary foreign workers in P.E.I. report fraud and abuse, but only 10 employers have faced penalties | CBC News

Only 10 employers in Prince Edward Island have been found non-compliant with the temporary foreign worker program, according to federal data. Experts this number reflects only part of the problem, as they frequently hear from workers about ongoing exploitation. Temporary foreign workers in Canada are often vulnerable due to closed work permits that limit their ability to leave abusive or unfair workplaces, with issues such as illegal recruitment fees and poor conditions persisting despite oversight.
