A small thing, but it felt pretty cool. After years of seeing people use Apple Pay abroad, finally being able to tap my own iPhone and pay here was a nice little tech moment.
Apple Pay officially launched in India on 30 September 2026, initially supporting eligible Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards.
The payment itself was almost boringly simple - authenticate, bring the phone close to the contactless POS machine, done.
Of course, India already has UPI, which is difficult to beat for everyday payments. But Apple Pay is a useful addition, especially for card payments without having to take the physical card out.
Anyone else in Palakkad tried Apple Pay yet? Would be interesting to know which shops and POS terminals around the district are accepting it without issues., i asked this becuase i used it to fill fuel and after that, i tried the same in a super market - but that machine did not accept it... .
Guys don't you feel we should have some place where everyone brings their book and reads on weekends? Just to increase attention span and keep our minds fresh this AI era to avoid brain rot?

I'm planning to buy a 1.5 ton split AC in Chittur, Palakkad
The room is relatively small, but considering 1.5T since I may relocate in the future. To save costs since my employment here is temporary
My budget is flexible. I'm okay spending more provided it's worth it, but don't want to spend extra just for fancy features. I might enjoy the pre-cool feature but I think I'll be okay with stupid AC also
Currently looking at Daikin, O-General, Carrier, Mitsubishi. But I'm open to other suggestions.
Main priorities are:
- Cooling performance in Palakkad heat
- Reliability
- Service availability
- Long-term ownership
- Comfortable with offline and online purchases.
- Might be eligible for corporate discounts (thanks to cousins and credit cards)
Which AC/model would you recommend? Anything I should avoid?
Also open to any dark horse recommendations - like brands or models that punch above their price.
