I was out cycling through rural Palakkad when I noticed something I really wasn’t expecting to see - a young girl practising archery in the middle of a paddy field, with her father standing beside her, helping and encouraging her.

I stopped and watched for quite a while. There was something really heartwarming about the whole scene.

She studies at Victoria Girls HSS, Chittur.
And the timing made it even more special. On the same day, India was winning gold in archery at the Asian Games. 🇮🇳🥇

Maybe this is simply a girl enjoying her sport. Maybe it’s the beginning of something much bigger. Either way, it was wonderful to see this happening in one of our villages.

And a big 👍 to her father for supporting her.
Hope she keeps aiming higher and, who knows, maybe one day we’ll see her representing India. 🎯🇮🇳
