Room Layout
Hello! I am a person who has not owned a budgie but is hoping to in the future. I was just hoping to ask those with more experience if my current living situation is one that would be healthy for owning a bird. I am currently living in an apartment with one roommate who is entirely okay with me having a bird as long as it mostly lives in my room and the smell isn't overpowering. The only problem I foresee is that she has slightly OCD-adjacent tendencies (in her own words) towards scent and will every now and then light scented candles to keep the apartment smelling nice. If I keep the cage in my room, I was hoping a closed door would be enough to keep a budgie safe. I attached a diagram of my room with how I had planned to incorporate the budgie. I have a heater in my room, but it will only activate automatically when the temperature dips below 40 degrees fahrenheit (in anticipation of this being an issue, I put a bookshelf inbetween it and the cage to minimize damage). Do you think a setup like this is appropriate? For clarification's sake, I am extremely open to the idea my current living space would not be healthy for a budgie under any circumstances. Any thoughts/advice from experience owners is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Rehoming in Ontario
Heartbroken to be doing this, haven’t found any good homes otherwise… I think I need to rehome my 4yo female parrotlet. Located in Toronto but I’m willing to drive to get her to the best home. Looking for another home with parrotlets after her mate died 💔
It’s been a lot of work, lots of bonding and boundaries to be had but I’m SO happy we are at this point. 🥹
A few months ago, she would bite draw blood every time I held her. She would fly away constantly, she would express constant stress and defensive behavior. This took work. Work= research (not one day has passed in the last 4 months where I have not researched how to be a better mom to her), patience, kindness, respect even when I would feel defeated or mad at her (her bites hurt). There were times I wanted to give her back. I’ve yelled at her a few times because of how bad she would attack. I’m so happy we made it this far. I’m so happy I stuck it out. My little goblin, Olive. 💚🫒

I'm sorry, did Mars just show his first sign of intelligence?!
He loves taking those thumb grips off and throwing them on the ground. Uuhm, did he just try to put them back on? He did this consistently and after a while he just gave up. Tbf those caps are a pain to put on.
I might have to start thinking of ways to challenge my boys more. But him forming a thought is terrifying to me lol. It's like a toddler finally gaining conscience. So, any suggestions of activities are appreciated. (He knows a few very very basic tricks already)
Gender
Hey all, question; any idea what gender this little bird might be?
