I drew a scene with the dusky hopping mouse [FANART]

I decided to draw a fanart of the lil mouse because I thought it was so cute. Didn't use the in-game proportions since they are exaggerated--instead, I searched up real images of the dusky hopping mouse. The rest is according to in-game colors and shapes.

I think I will be writing a story fanfiction about this scene but this is the art so far. Maybe I'll edit the body of this post with the fic when I get to doing it, so stay tuned.

Details list:

  • orange bighorn
  • dusky hopping mouse (savanna creature)
  • big bush
  • grass textures
  • berries picked off a bush
  • seeds
  • medium rock
  • teal tulip
  • blue chamomile
  • savanna tufts of grass
  • little yellow flowers from the grass texture addons

I had references for every one of these, I took those pictures from the game hahahah 🤣 the colors are all color-dropped to match the in-game colors, and I tried my best to replicate the interesting style of the pixelart with my way-too-big brush. Idk if it's good but I hope so? 😭 I nitpicked on some of the details...

This time I included the signature and date. I also drew a previous art of a neighbor's build but I think I'll let them share it instead, this one I guess I'll share by myself.

Just a disclaimer because I am paranoid: don't steal the art. don't steal my art. don't use it without permission and credit.

This mouse deserves a feast, haha!

Featuring: Escoffier the Orange Bighorn

It was a sunny morning in the savanna while Escoffier was preparing a feast for the little dusky hopping mice that lived in the savanna. She knew they liked to eat berries and seeds, and also insects—though she couldn’t find any insects, so she stuck to berries and seeds.

Looking around her wagon, she saw a bush grown full of orange berries—Perfect, she thought. This could be used for part of the feast! She took a few. Then, heading back to the spot where she had decided to put the food, she noticed if she placed them on the dirt, something else would probably get to it before the mice could, so she looked around in her bag to find something to put the food on.

Not long after, she found a nice medium rock—it had a flat side, and it was only a little bit elevated from the ground, which would be perfect for little mice to climb onto! She placed on on the ground, and dropped the berries on it. Then, she set out looking for seeds. There weren’t many in the Flocklands, but she got some from the sunflowers, and took those to the rock. Finally, the feast was done—now all she had to do was find a mouse to rate it!

After half an hour of looking for a mouse among the many trees her neighbor had planted, she finally found one. “Baa—I’ve prepared a feast for you! Care to come try?” The little mouse squeaked in excitement. Looks like it’s interested! She trotted back to the clearing with the rock—the mouse was following not too far behind, clearly excited to see the food. Escoffier stopped just in front of the rock, glad to see none of her prepared food had been stolen. The mouse hopped up to it, surprised—the mice usually only managed to forage some food, and never had all of it in one place. The mouse hopped onto the rock and immediately dug in. Escoffier watched the mouse eat, occasionally taking out the Baa-mera to take pictures. Not much time later, a few more mice had come to see what was going on. Escoffier welcomed them. “Baa—There’s enough for everyone!”

Author's notes...

:D tell me your opinions on this fanart! I would love some feedback. I can also edit the art if there is anything wrong with it but...I...I digress 😭 I feel like I can always pick out things to be like "THIS IS SO OBVIOUSLY A MISTAKE" and no one notices. Anyway--I'll stop rambling and actually post this. After posting will be working on the... Can I call it a fic or something? I'll be working on that. And as soon as I finish I'll edit it into this post!

Edit: Added the fic! Optional but you can also give your opinion on the fic. If there are any typos or grammar issues please tell me!

^(by the way if you see this note tell me if you also like the mouse--and optionally, which creature, monster, biome, or item is your favorite! I'll be first: I like the mouse and the otter for creature, the snake for monster, savanna for biome, and nametag for item!)

Are golden mushrooms ever worth it?

I don't know if I am doing something wrong here but I've used the golden mushrooms several times while cleaning oil. Usually I break even at best, meaning it would have been more cost effective to clean the oil without the golden mushroom. Sometimes I just don't find enough golden clover to cover the cost of the mushroom so it doesn't make sense to buy them.

Is there a better way to use them? I always build the showers first in good spots so I feel like I am giving myself the best chance of finding GC

Game suggestions?

Hey yall, just wanted to share some game suggestions!

I am sitting on 167K of shrub, any way we can exchange x amount for golden clovers? like 20k berries for 5 GC? I really only build barns and showers so I accumulate a lot. I graze with Highlanders at night mostly so I can get items but I don't know what else to do with the shrub.

On showers, can I have my party pick the oil up too? for example, in my flock, I carry 10 at a time, so when my bellweather picks up oil, they'll clean up the same amount. For the shower, it'll deduct the same. So when my bellweather showers, the rest of the flock will too. The shower would be deducted 10 washes. I would need to build it again when its destroyed. If the shower count is lower than the flock count, then the rest of the flock would stay oiled until a shower is used again. Penalty could be that they wouldn't be able to graze, and if you click on them, it will show a sad face.

Lastly, shrub and open lot count on the top of the screen? Sometimes when I enter a new region and like it, I would spend a couple of minutes until I figure out that there is no more space for me. For the shrub count, I like to go from one side to the other but sometimes i miss some shrubs. Could also be an additional task to finish grazing in one region.

Also please bring back auctions every MWF. I have a bunch of sheep I don't use and the breed task adds to it.

Thoughts?
