Mutant Monthly No. 112: Jean Grey Redux!
Happy new season of X-Men 97, and happy Mutant Monday! One of the reasons I wanted to slow down to a less demanding cadence of x-men drawings was to give myself more room to explore, and I just finished this study for Jean and wanted to share it here.
I’ve been focused on improving my rendering through my x-men drawings, especially with different fabrics, but it’s come at the cost of texture, and I wanted to recapture some of the energy I feel like my work has been recently missing, while also taking the opportunity to examine one of the most well known x-men looks: the 90s relaunch Jean Grey outfit. I’ve blended it with her iconic Phoenix outfit to try and marry the two looks that she is best known for.
I’d like to come back again to try my hand at a Marvel Girl outfit, but that’ll be for another day.
