Pico motion trackers 2 or 3

I mainly play vrchat usually sat down or on my chair.

Are 2 pico motion trackers enough for ok body tracking when laying down? Does it work if I'm belly down on my bed?

If i need to buy 3 motion trackers I'll make my own slime trackers instead

Got Pico 4 few days ago and I have 2 questions

Got my Pico 4 and I am discovering the VR world. I got a decent PC to play some games and a sim rig to play Sim Racing games (main reason I got the VR, cheaper and less invasive than a 3 screen setup), and this led to the first question:

1: How to play sim games like Assetto Corsa or AC Evo with VR? I got Virtual Desktop (which will be part of the second question) and Pico Connect. I can easily enter the Steam VR "Room" and perfectly play Half Life Alix, but if I try to open AC or other games compatible with VR, the games go to my pc screen and all I can see in the VR is a notification of the game running. What do I need to do in this case?

2: as previously mentioned I got Virtual desktop and all I can read are positive reviews. But if that's so, is it normal the whole experience is very pixeled? And I mean, big pixel, looks almost like Minecraft. This starts from the moment I run Virtually Desktop through the whole experience, while with Pico Connect I can see everything clear and smooth. Do you know why this happens? Is it because I am connected with the cable instead of Wi-fi?

The future of standalone PC gaming | Meta Quest & Pico VR.

Much like the Steam Frame advertises, playing your PC games native within headset is now possible, opening up a huge library of games without needing to ever plug into a PC.

This video gives behind the scenes info on the development with the now deprecated GameNativeXR Project and introduction to the NEW WinlatorXR version for July 2026

both applications allow you to play your Steam, Epic, GOG and Amazon PC store games inside your Meta Quests and Pico VR headsets- FOR FREE- WITHOUT any PC!

One important point covered in the video is about the hugely popular Meta Quest 3 and 3s VR headsets.

Unfortunately, Meta Horizon OS continues to barricade progress of existing and future developments that could one day potentially bring PCVR into standalone, This is due to the missing Turnip video driver support for Quest 3 and Quest 3s devices.

The Qualcomm drivers that Quest 3 / 3s uses suffers greatly with compatibility and performance compared to Turnip, being unable to render any openGL PC titles, while already having limited compatibility with dxvk (dx7-11) and vkd3d (dx12), sometimes unable to render correctly no matter the container setup.

The older Oculus / Meta Quest 2 remains compatible with Turnip, The PICO 4 Ultra which has the exact same chipset as a Quest 3, remains compatible with Turnip and the upcoming Steam Frame will be functioning solely with Turnip.

This lack of support stops any hope of using existing pre configured game profiles from something like GameNative, which assumes (quite rightly) that turnip would be supported on the GPU in quest 3.

This in part ultimately lead to returning development time to WinlatorXR, where full setup control can be managed in a way that doesn't have the users constantly fighting against incompatible setup being imported and not launching their games.

All code towards the XR modifications has been passed back to the GameNative project and the lead developer has since acquired a Meta Quest 3s, so the future is still bright and in safe hands, our hope is the massive community there can shout louder than me alone with regards to getting turnip support reinstated.

---------
No development builds for GameNativeXR will be shared, but for the new WinlatorXR (CATS27 APK) see the setup guide below

Introducing "Neo Skeld - Pico Neo 2" discord server (to finally get most out of this hardware piece)

Hello guys, i found not so long ago a project by some guys that i know in which they are trying to get more of this VR Headset (which did not reached its full potential and has became pretty much e-waste nowdays) It is composed mainly by FannakLKab and TheRedImposter, they already have made some good progress behind the scenes!, they have gotten a good selection of games to run in standalone and the same with PCVR (with wiVRn and ALVR) and even Root!

I invite you to take a look, stuff is looking really promising and i am sure it will only go forward :)

WinlatorXR: NEW Setup guide- Play PC games from Steam!

NEW setup guide for WinlatorXR on Quest and Pico VR headsets!- Easily play PC games native on your device with the new included stores!

The guide covers basic container creation and runtime installs ( you don't strictly need runtime installs, but if a game is expecting it to work, then its better to just get this step done at the start and avoid troubleshooting any games not working )

Once you've launched the game for first time, setting DXVK version for it is handled in the shortcut for that specific game, along with any other tweaks you may want to do, the container itself is already preset ready to go and you no longer need to touch it.

Video covers pretty much all you'd need to know for getting up and running, any questions please ask.

For a full written guide that goes a little deeper than the video, a comment in this thread will be made

On The Fence - Help

Hi,

So I've been a Meta Quest user since 2020. Got Quest 2 when it released then Quest 3 when it released. My issues are twofold, I hate Meta and the dog shit way they have run their OS and game store into the ground, and the weight of the Quest 3 with a BoboVR means I struggle to do the type of long sessions I'd like to do with games like Skyrim. I've been obsessively checking every day for Steam Frame news since it was first announced eight months ago. Now that I'm confident it's only going to be a few more weeks until Frame releases I discovered the Pico 4 Ultra exists. So, as the Frame is going to be a lottery and I could end up having to wait until 2027 to get one, I'm debating getting a 2nd hand Pico 4 Ultra both to plug the gap and to replace my Quest 3 to have as a spare extra headset for multiplayer with friends. My use case for it would be almost exclusively PCVR streaming. Has anyone had the Quest 3 and the Ultra who could give me their take on whether switching over is worth it? The main benefit I'm looking for is increased comfort but I've seen lots of criticism of the Pico 4 Ultra around the quality of it's lenses.

Struggling to decide...>!!<

WinlatorXR 2026/Q3 update

We're excited to welcome another developer to the WinlatorXR team: Sean Gilleece!

Many of you may know Sean from his recent CitraVR port for Pico headsets, based on Amanda Watson's original Quest version. Since joining the project, he's already made a big impact. While integrating the Ludashi-Plus store feature, Sean helped transform it into a much more polished, modern, and user-friendly experience.

We've also been putting a lot of work into the core of WinlatorXR itself. With Winlator-Cmod (the fork WinlatorXR is based on) seeing no development for almost a year, we decided to take ownership of the emulation side and start pushing things forward ourselves. Along the way, we've improved the content downloader with more community-maintained content, and GmoLargey has been doing an incredible job updating, testing, and validating drivers and wrappers across supported VR headsets.

With new talent joining the team and development moving faster than ever, WinlatorXR is only getting better. Although the new update is already on Sidequest, there's more to come during incoming weeks.

Bunch of Pico NEO 3 links being sold on a UK auction site.

It's johnpye auctions, it's a legit site I've bought furniture and other things from there. Seems like they've got a job lot of Pico NEO 3 link headsets to sell. 1 day and 4 hours left in the auction and many of them are currently as low as £4-12 each.

OVERAY DESK is live on PICO, curious what PICO users think

Hi, we make OVERAY DESK, an XR workspace app for using your PC in VR with virtual monitors, flexible placement, and a personal desk setup.

It’s already live on PICO, but we honestly haven’t heard from many PICO users yet. So we wanted to share a quick demo here and see what you think.

If you use PICO for PC work, browsing, studying, or just desktop time, what feels useful here and what feels missing?

PICO @ AWE 2026, project SWAN demo'ed + user testing?

PICO and the developers behind project SWAN were in attendance and exhibition at this years AWE in Long Beach, California. Their, PICO won most ethical product during the Auggie Awards while fielding TONS of interest in project swan user testing and upcoming demos.

That being said... who in this sub is interested in user testing project SWAN? Post here and let us all know (and anyone at PICO reading this!) why you'd make a great candidate for testing out Project SWAN!

Help with choosing either Pico 4 or Pico 4 Ultra

Hi, I am currently looking at getting my first VR headset and decided on Pico because of it's design and price point (Quest 3 seems to be too expensive for my first VR headset), but I am unsure which one to go for (Pico 4 or Pico 4 Ultra).

I saw a few posts stating that the tracking of the ringless controller in the Pico 4 Ultra is really bad, but those were posted a few years ago, and I don't know if that's still the case now. I was wondering if anyone has any experience about it, and also which one would you guys prefer, assuming that the price difference between the two is not the main concern.

If it helps, I plan to primarily use it for pcvr (mostly wired), while being able to watch/stream media from the headset itself is a nice-to-have. Thanks!

Edit: Hi everyone, thanks for your comments, I'm not sure if anyone is still following this, but I initially wanted to get the Pico 4 Ultra because it's discontinued and I can only get it at third-party platforms, so my initial thought was that getting a newer model is a way of "future-proofing". Honestly now I'm still torn between the two. If there's still anyone reading this, if let's say I can get a Pico 4 in "Like New" condition for about $250-$450 SGD, while a Pico 4 Ultra in "Brand New Condition" for $500-$590 SGD, is it still more worth to get Pico 4 Ultra?

Pico 4 stuttering even on standalone mode

I've had this pico for over a month and since day 1 I've had this stuttering issue, it happens even when I'm getting 90 fps on a perfect connection. This doesn't happen on quest 2 I've tried everything.

This is where it all began.

This Space Pirate Trainer DX video changed everything for me.
Playing outdoors with a huge open space around me, for the first time I felt a level of adrenaline and physical intensity I had never experienced in VR before. My body moved on its own, completely without brakes.

From that day on, I couldn’t settle for anything less.
I realized that feeling was too powerful to keep it limited to just one game. That’s why I created the Home Scale and later the Infinity Scale — two methods that allow me to bring that same level of intensity and freedom of movement to any game that supports roomscale, both standalone and PC VR.

Now imagine your favorite VR game played with this same intensity and action.

What would that feel like?

Our latest immersive video, Lava Cliffs, is now available on Just VR.

It’s been only three weeks since our last release, and we’re already back with a new film. We simply don’t want people who truly enjoy immersive content to wait too long for the next journey.

That said, the actual production of this video took much longer. Quality always comes first. I’d rather spend more time refining a project than rush it out and compromise the experience.

I can’t say this is the best immersive video ever made. But I can say that it contains everything we had to give.

And honestly, I believe it was worth it.

I hope you’ll enjoy this journey to the lava cliffs of Jeju Island, South Korea.
