Student solo traveller for summer vacation no cert of enrollment yet

Hi! nextweek na yung flight ko and I am an upcoming 2nd year nursing student. Will be visiting my father (sponsor and guarantor) in Japan for a month kasi July parin naman yung classes namin.

My main concern is kakatapos lang ng 2nd sem namin and wala pang enrollment date for next sch year. Possible yun baka June pa yung enrollment and June pa po balik ko if ever.

Tatanggapin kaya ng IO if sch id ko lang and cert of enrollment for SY 25-26 yung ipapakita kong proof? Also ofc yung docs rin ni father as my guarantor.

na-anxious kasi ako, yung nasa cert of enrollment ko is nakalagay has been enrolled for second sem SY 25-26.

Is Sponsorship letter (un-notarized) okay? or AOS

Hi! I have a flight booked going to Vietnam in the coming weeks na.

I am employed, but nagkaron slight hiccup due to delayed of salary/allowance of 3 cut off na which i expected to received yesterday, pero sadly wala paren 😢 (real estate industry) which i plan to use for my travel pocket money

Now, my mom gave me money for my round-trip plane ticket for my bday gift this May and now i plan to asked her also for the pocket money but as heram lang

Based on my research, sponsorship letter is okay (un-notarized) and ask for a salary delayed confirmation from HR

Tama po ba ito or AOS is really needed in this case?

Thank you in advance!

  • Ano po mga possible questions for me?
  • VA po ako and also a PRC licensed holder.

How to travel again without offloading?

Hi!

I got offloaded last January due to lack of documents (AOSG, letter of invitation) because my bf’s family sponsored me for a travel, vacay lang, in Dubai. I was alone and it’s my first international travel sana non.

I’m planning to travel abroad this year, but with friends or family na muna sana. Self-funded and kumpletong documents ang ihahanda ko if ever.

Is there a chance na ma-offload ulit? I just don’t wanna risk na lang if may higher chance, kasi sayang ang pera na magagastos.

PLEASE LMK! haha help your girl outtt thanks!

Anyone here traveled while unemployed? Need advice 🙏

Hi everyone! I will be traveling in November, just in case I’m still unemployed by that time. This will be my first time traveling while unemployed, in case I still don’t have a job then. I also have part-time VA work—do I need to disclose that po?

To those who have traveled while unemployed, what documents were usually asked from you? I do have previous travel history naman po, I just want to be ready and prepared in case they ask for anything. Any tips po please? Thank you!

DIY Japan Visa Application Process - Family, ME, May 2026

Submitted a group application for a family of 3 and received 5-year ME visas within 5 business days 🥹🥹🥹 Sharing details for anyone with related concerns and sprinkling approval dust!

Timeline

March 12 Wed - Successfully booked appointments on VFS website*, after randomly refreshing for slots for a few days. Regular slots, VFS Quezon City (Gateway, Cubao). Paid Php520 per person (VFS service fee at that time)

May 13 - Appointment day. Arrived 8:15AM, entered** and got queue number (appt time is 8:45 but it didn't matter at that point), number called around 9:05, updated some docs as requested by staff***. Finished submission around 9:45, was informed that processing will take 7-8 business days. Overall spent around 1.5hrs at VFS, no extra services or additional payments

Updates as per VFS tracking webpage:

May 14 - Submitted to Embassy

May 18 - Under process

May 19 - On the way back to application center. Status updated to 'Ready for collection' by end of day

May 20 Wed - Arrived at VFS for collection around 12:15PM, 1 person queue, submitted receipt with auth letters, not more than 10 mins total

Profiles

  • Father and Mother - 60s, retirees, no previous travel to Japan, multiple Asia trips in current passport
  • Daughter (me) - 30s, self-employed, tech industry, 2 previous trips to Japan (this year and 11 years ago with SE visas), multiple Asia and EU trips in current passport

Application type: Multiple-entry tourist visa (PH nationals with considerable financial capacity)

Documents

  • Appointment confirmation printouts
  • Cover letter - only 1 from me on behalf of the family, mentioned that the trip is a gift from me and included reason for ME request (see below)
  • Photocopies of passports and previous Japan visa
  • Application forms
  • Request for multiple entry - 1 each applicant. Reason: to visit other cities and experience different seasons conveniently
  • Letter of guarantee - 1 each parent, I'm the guarantor
  • Birth certificates - all applicants
  • Marriage certificate - of parents
  • DTI registration - of my business, as self-employed
  • BIR docs / ITR - only mine
  • Explanation letter for lack of Mayor's permit (WFH, no physical store). Handwritten as an extra requirement by VFS staff, but I suppose it could've been included in the cover letter
  • Bank certificates - all applicants, 6~7 digits ADB / current balance
  • Itinerary - Trip scheduled late June, 9 days in Tokyo & Hokkaido

Footnotes

* One account, separate appointments. From my experience, there seem to be multiple ways to book as a family:

  1. Use 1 account each person, book separate appts for the same date
  2. Use 1 account for everyone, book only 1 timeslot/appt and add each person as an applicant under the same booking -- seemed technically possible but encountered 'not enough slots' errors when I tried
  3. Use 1 account for everyone, book separate appts (1 for each person) for the same date -- this is what worked for us

Basically, each applicant must have a booked slot in the system and submit the appointment confirmation with the application.

** I submitted everything by myself -- I actually went to VFS with parents, but only 1 representative per group is allowed inside. No authorisation letter was required.

*** They have blank forms/templates that you can ask for from the reception for free, as well as bond papers if you need to write letters instead of availing their printing service. I got Letter of Guarantee forms and handwrote an explanation letter as mentioned above

Happy to answer questions!

Japan Visa Application

Hi! So my family (ages 51, 20, and 13) is planning a trip to Japan this coming December. My mom will be the one funding the whole trip, but I just wanted to know if it might make our application stronger if I submit my own bank documents with around Php 5xx,xxx in savings, even though I am still a student? Or would it be better to just stick with my mom’s financial documents?

Is the type of hotel important on the Itinerary example for Japan Visa application

Hello! It will be my first time traveling to Japan and I am completing my requirements.

I am a solo traveler and of course I want cheap accommodations. Would it matter on my sample itinerary for the Visa application that I put hostels instead of a pricey hotel?

I am choosing the cheaper option (I don't have anything booked yet) but I am kinda worried I might get rejected because of it... and if I choose the fancier option and my ADB is not that high (₱1xx,xxx) I might also get rejected.

I am sorry I am just scared, any advice please? Maybe give me recommendations on budget hotels too! Please!

Travelling with Foreign BF

Good day, may I just ask if there is a risk of offloading in either Terminal 1 or 3 at NAIA, if I travel together with my American BF (from PH going to Vietnam) anytime these coming months?

For context:

  1. Nagkita na kami sa thailand last april 2026.

  2. We intend to stay in Vietnam for 6 nights, 7 days.

  3. Were in a relationship for 6 months.

Me: 28, Filipino, Lawyer, employed as contractual worker in the govt, paid for our hotel in Vietnam, with COE, payslips, bank statements, proof of admission to the PH Bar and IBP ID, and proof of leave from the Court where I work in, signed by the presiding judge (cause no need for contractual govt ees to have travel auth as per the Supreme Court)

Him: 36, US citizen, paid for our roundtrip flights from PH to Vietnam (which is cheaper than the hotel I booked and paid).

Please respect, thank you.

Does applying for a Japan visa during the off-peak summer season increase approval chances compared to peak seasons?

Does applying for a Japan visa during the off-peak summer season increase approval chances compared to peak seasons?

I’m planning a future trip to Japan and wondering if the timing of the visa application matters. Does it make sense to apply now during their off-peak summer season rather than during peak times like December or the Sakura season? Does the season affect approval rates at all?

For context, here is my profile:
Currently unemployed sa company and I am currently freelance/self-employed as a private academic tutor. In my mid-40s.
Financials: I have a 7-figure savings account balance under my name, along with stock investments and other bank investments.
Assets: I own a condo unit that I actively rent out for passive income.

I have been to Japan four times already, (different perfectures in JP) I was granted two single entry and one multiple, Pero the last I visited was nung 2017 pa.

I don't have immediate plans to travel to Japan since I already have a few sea trips lined up for the rest of this year. I'm looking at visiting next year instead, but I'm thinking of applying now if the season makes it easier to get approved?? If they issue a SE visa, I have no problem booking a quick flight to use it within the 3-mos validity window.
Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences on whether application timing matters

Thanksss

Work or leisure? For US visa application

Hi, I'm a virtual assistant and my employer from US plans to bring me to Hawaii for our company meeting this August. All-expenses paid. Trying to research thoroughly before committing so I' d love input from anyone who's been through this recently;

-how long is the processing? Is 3-4 weeks still accurate?
-what documents do I need to provide aside from the standard ones? What are the possible questions?
-purpose of travel: work or leisure?
(I know people who both stated they were travelling for work, one was approved and the other was denied)

Financial relief in upcoming travel

SavingsJourney
Am posting this for people to believe that we can do it.

1st time to go out of country and I just noticed a LOT of extra fees.

Not sure if ganito din fees ng ibang bansa, pero andaming fees ng Pilipinas. Wala pa jan yung Travel Tax. Hays.

Local Seaman-First time int’l travel ako with family.

Problem/goal: Asking for advice po kasi Kinakabahan ako sa immigration as a first time international traveler.

4 months prior the travel pa namin na-book yung flight.

Ano mga kailangan kong dalhin as a proof of returning kung sakaling tanungin ng immigration?
