How to use Incline Press machine
Two tens under the machine to get it at a proper incline angle, and two matts on the pad so you get the rom to where the handles could be at the level to almost graze your chest, you’re welcome!

I was curious if any other planet fitness locations were having issues or if it was just the location that u frequent. It seems like nothing gets done to maintain the club. Brand new equipment broken already. Takes months to get anything fixed. Just all around dirty. Lazy staff. Maize, Kansas.
I love this machine for glute growth, I’ve been using it for months and steadily adding weight. I’ve been able to do 120lbs before. Did it today and at the end of the set (10 reps each leg) I felt awful, so lightheaded. My vision went completely black. Didn’t completely pass out though, was able to lean against the machine and let myself sit down gently without falling.
Why would this machine cause me to pass out? Is my form wrong, like am I leaning forward too much and putting pressure on my abdominal aorta? Is there a way to fix my form to not be leaning forward too much? any other tips?
I was balancing my spreadsheet just now and noticed I got charged a $49 dollar fee from PF when upgrading basic to black. Is that normal? It just confused me, as I asked specifically about that to the girl at the front desk when upgrading after their promo of being able to use massage beds w/o being a black card member at the end of may. She told me that I wouldn't since I had recently paid my annual $49 fee in March from when I joined.
I alerted staff after a bolt fell off the power rack. I wonder who they contract to assemble these. There’s a large gap inbetween the top joint
A few times now after I get done with a machine and go to get the spray bottle I notice someone is already sitting down on the machine before I got to wipe it. So I figured well I guess thet are already sitting there I am not going to wipe it now. Is it a jerk move for me to do this? Otherwise usually I always wipe my machine down.
.
I work at a planet fitness and the last month has been just waves of people at odd times. Last week it was at 2pm on Wednesday. Our system said we had 50 people in but it felt more like 100. Same thing at 8:30pm on Sunday nights. Just curious if this is a regular thing to expect. It’s usually just me at the front desk so stepping away can be hard especially if I want to step out to use the bathroom or have a snack.
Ive been out of shape for a while and have never used an actual gym. I signed up for black card at 1 am and want to go late nights. What should I expect?
I have very slightly toned arms but still some jiggle, but that tini bit of definition i do have, always has made me want to start lifting/getting “fit” so this is more or less just my book mark of my first steps after getting the teen membership for summer!!
Ive been in gym’s/weight rooms before for sports, and just to try it out hut never actually committed to going. My anxiety and lack of knowledge has kept me away but I made a plan and went this morning for about 1.5 hours!! Im still kind of clueless on muscle groups, and the best workout to target each but I tried out a few different things today.
(what research can I do other than videos? I can copy the motions people do but form wise I feel like im doing little to nothing!!)
-I started with walking for 10 minutes, running 5, then walk 5, for a warm up
not knowing the layout of the gym i kind of cluelessly walked around lol.. kind of felt dumb but made my way to a quiet corner with the hip abductors and did 2x10 with 30lbs then 2x15
I have 0 clue what I did with the barbells other than curls (?), did squats 3x10 with 15 lbs, before heading to another leg machine that I didn’t catch the name of.. after that headed back to treadmill for another 20 minutes of walking before taking off.
Although I didn’t do much today Im still proud I got there and am starting to make progress, as just going today and sweating/pumping more than I usually do really made me feel great. Cant wait to go back!!
Apologies in advance for the odd post.
So. Introverted nerdy woman here. A few months ago, I was suggested to join a gym as a way to take a daily break from living too much in my mind (because: astrophysics) and be “forced” instead to spend some time just being in my body.
I’m enjoying cardio a lot (rowing, running, stair climber on a daily repeat), so I’m always facing the strength training area of my PF, which eventually has started to make me pay attention to the people who work out there.
And suddenly now, if my mind wants to wander somewhere while I’m working out, it doesn’t go to loop quantum gravity or dark energy, but instead finds its way to what I know of biomechanics.
At my PF, “hot” is the most recurrent adjective I hear when I accidentally catch comments about the people in the strength training area, and while undoubtedly true, when I hear such observations, I always itch to point out the small stance adjustments that you people do to ensure center of mass or to target different muscle groups, or how you (usually) keep to a drastic minimum the amortization phase during the SSC, or how it’s not guesswork what you do but a real understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy, and also what kind of mind it takes to embrace the struggle, turn it around, and have such control over one’s body.
And since there is precisely zero chance that I’ll ever tell anyone at my PF how much I admire what they do, I thought to leave a post here for all of you doing strength training, because yes, you are hot, but more than that, you are one extraordinary and beautiful example of discipline and resilience.
So, from someone who still lives a lot in her mind, thank you for the daily reminder how effin amazing the human body can be.
(And again, apologies for the odd post.)
Can I wear a Nike shiesty as a privacy and anxiety relief. I have social anxiety and I ordered one because I would hopefully not be recognized. Im not important or anything w no ill intent but if I explained this could I do it or cancel the membership??
Something seems off with the weight on this calf machine 🤔
Not sure if it’s something related to body dysmorphia but I’m just not seeing that “WOW.” change yet..
I just turned 17, been lifting since mid February, and have lost around 12 pounds since then (175-163).
I have been doing progressive overloading every week, I remember I was around 60s on the big compound machines and now I hit triple digits the last few weeks!
I won’t lie, definitely can’t say I have been hitting my protein goal every day. It’s hard and oftentimes I only hit half of the goal.
Regardless, tips and comments are highly appreciated, and thanks in advance!
Hi y’all, I’m 5’2”, so for the majority of the machines I have to heavily adjust them to be able to reach everything and feel it where I’m supposed to feel it. I was wondering am I supposed to switch the adjustments back after I use them? Or is that not a huge deal.
Am I able to go into a different one with the classic membership without paying a fee?
Edit: Location is Carol Stream, IL
I saw an australian tiktok-er posting about how she was getting a spray tan at a planet fitness, to white my pasty skinned self was like wow that would be sick. ANYWAY its mostly in australia but I found all the ones in the states and every other thread seemed to be asking where to find them/if they exist but they were locked so I couldnt answer :')
Also if anyone knows how the general spray tanning experience goes I am incredibly curious!!! So pls lemme know haha
if you later wanna try and use the same method of how I found it this is my search query
"Spray Tanning" site:https://www.planetfitness.com/
i have been trying to sign in on the app but it keeps on putting me back into finding a club then asking me to select a membership and sign up but i dont wanna sign up but in and the sign in button leads to the sign up button i dunno what to do
Planet fitness needs a complete overhaul as far as the locations go. It's time to rethink which equipment is important and which isn't and come up with a new layout that fits in with how people want to workout in 2026.
Since the 30 minute circuit area is just used as a free for all by everyone but me I think it's time to get rid of the stupid stoplights and just integrate that space and those machines into the rest of the gym. The gym is already so short of weight machines that many locations desperately need that space and those machines. In addition to that:
Squat racks
Free motion cable cross machine
Dedicated stretch and sled pull area
It's 2026 and a lot of Planet Fitness locations are still stuck in 2008
