I had planned to wear a totally different dress but after knee surgery and better mobility I am 25lbs down.
These were in my closet and though a bit loose I think they will be okay.
Ignore the droopy boobs I will be wearing a proper strapless and will ensure straps are properly adjusted etc. I just put them on for the photos!
So, please pick which you think with proper structure looks the best. Thanks!!
I had a long engagement, about 10 months before my wedding I bought a wedding dress. Lost too much weight and had to find a new dress 5 months before my wedding. This wasn’t budgeted for and I ended up really liking a dress I bought off SHEIN. I lost too much boob and the chest was a bit loose and it needed to be hemmed. I look it to a seamstress and I don’t even know what happened. She took the top in so it would fit flush to my chest and now it kind of buckles out under the armpit??? I don’t know I just know I hate the way it looks. Also she refused to remove whatever the thick piece on the back is for and I hate that too. She did cut the seam she created so now I can’t undo the top alteration. I don’t have the capital to find a whole new dress at this point and my wedding is on less than 30 days. Please tell me what you think, I’ll include pictures of before it was altered and after. It’s technically wearable but because she took it in on the sides, the back is kinda wide open now too way more than it was before. Ugh 😣
I am a size 22-24, and the shop I went to measured and wrote measurements in the order. I tried on a 22 which fit basically perfectly with a couple exceptions, so we were going to order a size 24. The stylist ordered a size 20, and I didn't know. It just arrived, and i found out at my alterations appointment. I'm furious. I returned the dress, and my aunt payed for it. They're not wanting to give her her $200-300 tip back. They admitted it was their mistake and were really apologetic, wanted me to come in to try on more dresses they had in shop, etc.
I can't believe someone could be so careless. Maybe she had things going on in life. We all make mistakes, but this one absolutely screwed me over. I didn't even like the dress, wasn't excited about it, just wanted to be done dress shopping. I don't want to put another 10+hours of effort into this dress now. I did that in the spring to avoid the extra stress this fall. I ordered something online from KissBridal, and now I just have to pray it's here early enough for alterations to be done. Plus size things aren't easy to just find in the snap of your fingers. I've never been so angry with a stranger.
How would you guys style this dress with accessories? Earrings, bracelets, necklace?
For context, this is not my first wedding. My first husband passed away tragically and traumatically in March 2021. My 3 boys and I have found an amazing and unbelievable Chapter 2, and next fall we are eloping to the Glacier Park mountains in Montana. 🏔️
I felt so beautiful and emotional in this dress. I need to come up with some sleeve options though, and a different cathedral veil. I did not buy the veil. Thoughts and suggestions?
ETA: I’m really liking the whimsy, lace sleeves. Is it too different from the classic style of dress I chose? Example in picture 3 (done by AI) in the comments
I’ve gained about 50 lbs since my relationship has started, and have really struggled with self love. I now have my first bridal shopping appointment in the next few weeks and am finding myself wanting to cancel because I am worried that I will be embarrassed and upset that nothing will fit me (especially in front of friends/family).
Has anyone else had similar experiences, and are they any tips on overcoming this fear?
I wore this dress for my recent wedding, and loved it! I knew that it was not the regular color that most folks use, but I thought it looked great to wear it. What are your thoughts?
My wedding is this October and I’m trying to find a wedding dress. I found one that I like but my body has weird measurements. I really like this dress but it’s from selkie and I’ve never gotten anything from them. I also don’t know where else to look I can’t find anything I like or anything that looks good. I’d have to get a 4X to get that one dress. It’s expensive and it would take a while to get here probably because it ships from china. I will genuinely take any help I can get.
So when I tried my dress on when I went shopping for my dress I didn’t get to see the back of it, well it’s in and I got to try it on and I’m so excited and in love with it. It’s definitely more sparkling and a lot of dress than I remember as well but I love it.
After feeling really anxious and uncomfortable at a couple of bridal appointments, I decided to go all custom for my wedding garments. This way, everything is made to my measurements and fit really well, the materials are all high quality (my getting ready gown and the slip dress are 100% mulberry silk), I had a lot of control over the style and fit (and was able to create 3 looks with the same dress), and it was really affordable, especially when compared to buying a dress in store. Hopefully this could give another option to brides who may be feeling self-conscious and frustrated with the traditional dress shopping experience like I was.
Here are all the Etsy sellers I shopped from for my wedding looks:
- Silk slip from Myan Atelier
- Tulle overlay from Joyful Bride Design
- Lace bolero from MooreSee
- Silk getting ready gown from Lela Silk
Whatever you decide to wear, I hope you feel as beautiful and radiant as you are on your wedding day!
So, I was previously struggling with the decision of whether to wear my hair up or down on my big day (two months left!!) but then I guess I solved my problem with a manic episode hair cut. Now I’m wondering if I’ve made a mistake. I love it and my fiancée and I are both very non traditional brides, but still 🫠 What do yall think?
Here's to being fat and doing it anyway! In March, my love and I had the Scottish elopement of our dreams, and I was so happy with how we both looked even though we're both bigger than we'd like to be. I think my husband might have attempted to lose 5lbs due to a shirt fit issue, and I didn't change a thing. We both looked like freaking royalty. You're beautiful in the body you have! Wear the dress!
I just recently made my decision on the dress of my dreams. My only issue, the girlsss.
The dress is strapless and I need to find the world’s best strapless bra to hold the ladies up.
I have very bottom heavy “relaxed” ladies (especially after a 50lb+ weight loss, they are a little looser than they were). So it’s hard to find a good strapless that holds them up with enough support to make them look good.
Any suggestions for your favourite most supportive strapless bra or even for a shaper with attached strapless bra, I would beyond appreciate it!
For reference my normal bra size is a 40DDD (40F).
I was watching a docuseries yesterday and saw this dress, and I fell in love and want this to be my wedding dress.
Can someone please help me !
I either need a designer/manufacturer or connect me with someone who can recreate it, please?!
Wedding is in April, 2027
Thank you!!
