Still reeling from Asian Nunsploitation Month...
We're almost ten days into June and I'm still winding down from Asian Nunsploitation Month here on r/Nunsploitation_Movies and Nunsploitation.Net. I'd love to get your feedback. I hope everyone enjoyed it. We got a serious uptick in hits, clicks, and new members.
It's a big task tracking down and saving up Asian Nunsploitation movies for May. Asian Nunsploitation films are difficult to research. I have to search using Asian-language characters for words like "nun" and "convent". You also need an eagle to not accidently order a European film you already have that's just been given a Japanese title and new art.
Then, just acquiring them can be an ordeal: ordering them, paying for them, getting them shipped. (It doesn't help that most foreign vendors stopped shipping to the U.S. for months because someone thought it would be a good idea to impose tariffs on everything with no plan in place for how to collect them.)
If you've been reading the reviews, you'll note that sometimes I detail what I had to go through to get my hands on certain obscure Japanese films. Some took years to acquire.
A lot of films didn't make it. I'm still waiting on my Blu-ray edition of Nun in Rope Hell from Australia. I have a review for Ladybusters: Virgin Servants of God still waiting to be edited. So, we may see a few stragglers trickling in during the month of June.
I have some sad news. There was blowback from my review of Convent Vibrator Punishment. Amazon decided the review constituted a violation of their terms of service and removed Nunsploitation.Net from their advertising program! And! And! They kept all of the money they owed me! If you violate their TOS, you forfeit your funds!
Now, there is an argument to be made on both sides whether Convent Vibrator Punishment is or isn't pornography. In my defense, it was purchased from Amazon and Amazon solicits reviews of products on their own site. I guess what's good for the goose is not good for the gander, at least in this case.
I'm not going to fight them, but it's worth noting I somehow violated their TOS by reviewing their own product.
I'll be spending the next several weeks converting all of my advertising links over to DVD Empire, a tedious task I am not looking forward to.
Well, I'm still exhausted, but it's good to be able to get back into the swing of things by reviewing Speed Demon and Falling. I've got a stack of movies from my trip to Spain that need reviewing, so look forward to seeing more about La Abadesa, En Silencio, and other Nunsploitation gems I picked up!
