Mic Drop Radio looking For Guests!

Hello everyone! Our name is Mic Drop Radio, a good vibes station located in Western Australia.

Mic Drop Radio has been live since June 2026 our weekly live show, The Weekly Drop, has been running most Saturdays since launch (around 8-9 episodes so far, but they were mostly testers since we didn't have great equipment, but now we have a rode duo caster and a pod mic. If your looking for the shows, you can't find any, because they weren't great quality and we are sort of treating these coming up episodes as a bit of a 'debut').

We are of course open to new topics and ideas for the show. And at the moment we only have one show, but are hoping to expand. (Weekly Drop on Saturdays 7pm AWST, approx 35-40 mins long)

Rode Duo Caster Or Scarlett 2i2 4th gen

Hello,

I am after a new interface as I recently upgraded to a Rode Podmic, and now have need an xlr port. I would like a few xlr, two is fine, and I like the bluetooth in the Rode Caster, as it allows us to take live calls on air. However, I am torn between the price difference of a Rodecaster Duo and a scarlett interface, nearly 200-300 AUD. I do a bunch of live shows, so sound quality matters, and even though the scarlett can have a bunch of effects, are any of them quality? I run mixxx of an old windows laptop, so would the cpu usage destroy it? I also love how the rode caster has faders and pads, but I also have a donner midi pad that I have mapped into controls, and used a Maonocaster AM-200.

I use mixxx for streaming during a live show. Anyone in a similar pickle?

Any help is appreciated.

Focusrite Scarlett 4th Gen 2i2 + RØDE PodMic Combo

I am currently looking at the Focusrite Scarlett 4th Gen 2i2 + RØDE PodMic, but unsure if the actual combo is worth it? Is the pod mic actually a clear crisp audio? I have read a few posts that talk about how much gain it needs, but that isn't really a problem.

I have also seen that the Shure SM58 come up alot too, with good audio, but found I can get the pod mic cheaper. Does anyone have any good experience with these combos? I am after a good clear audio set up, and hoping to buy it once and not have to upgrade again.
Thank you in advance.

Good Microphone For A Slightly Sound Proofed Room For Radio

Hello,

I run a small radio, and was looking to upgrade my mic! I have a Maonocaster AU-AM200 that I am hoping to plug it in via a 3.5 aux. Any one with good experience? Anyone use the same console? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Will plugging in a Beyerdynamic M70 Pro X Dynamic Microphone with a xlr to aux cable into the back of my Maono work or will there be a downside and maybe not work fully.

Just wondering as i am currently in the market for a new dynamic microphone.

Thanks :)
