Online shops vs physical stores for singles...which is better?

Hi everyone! I’m very new to collecting, and I just wanted to ask if you guys know any physical stores that sell singles. I only started collecting last May 17, and I really want to experience buying cards in person too!

Do you happen to know any physical stores with reasonable prices? The stores near us (Lower Antipolo area) seem a bit more overpriced compared to online shops on Shopee.

Would love to hear your advice!! Should I just stick to buying online, or are physical stores/vendors still better? If physical stores are worth it, which ones would you recommend? I’m willing to go to Metro Manila or even the South if there are cool places there too!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Understanding the logic of buying/selling trading cards

Hi all! This is just out of curiosity. I saw a post of someone here post a Mega Gengar Ex SIR, which is one of the biggest hits. The thing is, it is Korean Language. I understand that Korean cards are not a good sell here because of the quality, as it is not on par with Japanese and English.

English sells the easiest because they are also playables, because there are actually some people who play the TCG. Japanese because of quality. Korean sells the least because of quality but it is the most affordable option for those who want to collect.

Since some vendors and "investors" like to buy slabs, would it make a difference if these Korean cards are graded and are given high grades also? Because I noticed in the last card show I went to, all I saw were slabbed cards of hits, and I was wondering if the less popular languages like Korean and Chinese would have a chance of being sold if they are graded? Since people who collect these slabs are probably not players.

Japanese cards are also non-playables I believe, so just maybe Korean cards will have a chance of being sold if they are slabbed?

Skyridge *Complete Set. Finally

Finally done with this set!

144/144

*mix of normals and rev holos

*counting this as a complete set 😅

While I have some Holos and a couple of crystals, I do not intend to complete all of them, because obviously, money 🤑

A chunk of these I pulled when I was younger when a booster pack was just 150 PHP (2.5 USD). I remember Pokemon was losing its popularity during those times and no one wanted to buy this set. If only I had known that it would become one of the most sought after and expensive sets now 😅

Anyway, enjoy the amazing artwork!

Im just really anxious on this types of places, im shy to haggle and talk to people pero gusto kong pumunta. Im not really familiar yet on terms being used nor differentiate kung anong rarity ng card.

Ano ba dapat kong iexpect or gawin sa cards shows? i wanna buy singles and packs lang hopefully cheaper kaya i wanted to come and experience it ayun lang po hehe.

Saya Tsurata Card Art Appreciation 💕

Just an appreciation post to one of my favorite card artists! This might be common knowledge, but I find it so cool that there are always hidden pokeballs in the cards 💖I almost have the whole collection completed (except for the shiny ones—I don't like them), I'm very happy!

Here is the List of their cards if anyone's curious :DD I could spend all day looking for them and encircling, but I highly encourage everyone who's interested to look for them themselves too (especially the Blissey V and Greedent), its very fun!

Hellooo!

Hello! I want to start collecting Pokemon cards. This all started when I bought booster packs in Japan, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience!!! I wanted to ask for tips or advice on how to start collecting here in the PH like where to buy cards, where NOT to buy, and where I should begin...

I recently went to a hobby store and checked the prices of ETBs, booster bundles, and booster packs, and honestly, they were insanely expensive. I know this hobby can get really pricey, but grabe naman yung presyo 😅 I even converted the prices from what I paid in Japan, and the difference was huge. I didn’t even go inside anymore dahil nahiya na ako magtanong. I also joined a Pokemon trading Facebook group and tried buying from someone there, but sadly I got scammed and received fake cards. That experience honestly discouraged me from collecting because ang daming scalpers and scammers dito sa PH. Na-trauma na rin ako bumili online 🤣 So if you have any tips, tricks, advice, trusted stores, or beginner-friendly recommendations, I’m all ears. Thank you!

Any sellers who still sell EXs/FAs at market price?

I keep seeing sellers who sell their EXs/FAs cards starting at ₱60 to ₱100 even if market price is only ₱30-₱40/₱70 I know it's a small difference but it's still not following the market price and it tips me off. why do we only follow collectr prices with the big cards?

I remember people a few years back being true to prices when troll and toad was still the basis for prices.

PSA & BGS Grading

Hi everyone!

May nakasubok na ba dito personally mag-submit ng cards for grading to PSA or BGS sa US or even Japan or China? How's the experience and process?

How was it compared to submitting to 3rd party service provider (e.g. HobbyStadium, Ricco's Card)?

Was about to try Xlegendary kaso nagstop sila. Hobby stadium removed value bulk. Saan pa po kaya meron standard waiting time?
