Gatekeeper

Call it gate keeping but I hate seeing some people enter the hobby when it’s clearly all about money for them. Can’t even name the the cards they just know it’s a hit that would sell for a lot. Might as well just put the peso bills in their binders and show those off.

I get it it’s part of the hobby and I myself enjoy watching my collection grow in price. But the fact is if it crashes and everything goes to 0 I’d still enjoy my cards. There was a sweet spot between 2020 and now where the resurgence of Pokemon was just enough for those who grew up with it to rediscover it but still under the radar for scalpers to notice. (25th celebration products were super easy to get, no early morning lines, no crowds)

Ngayon sorry pero ang jeje na ng mga tao sa hobby. Not everyone has to be a super fan from the start. I love seeing kids become fans. Specially with their parents who were fans before and now get to share it with their kids. But with all these hustlers and scalpers hopping on the trend, they’re probably gonna run this hobby to the ground. So yes maybe sometimes gatekeeping isn’t so bad.

Best lugia art

For those saying crystal lugia art is the best, I beg to differ. That regular lugia v from silver tempest done by Arita is perhaps its best art.

Pardon my editing skills just wanted to picture it out haha

Hot take? Not a fan of the michi method

I get it. Creative? Sure. It’s a unique take on how to do binder collections but there’s something about it that doesn’t feel quite right to me. Maybe it’s just not for my taste and I know a lot of people like it. I don’t really mind honestly collect how you like to collect. I just wanted to know if there are others or am I the only one who thinks this haha

On a different note need suggestions for the 2 slots beside pikachu vmax. Was thinking of misty and lapras and Brock? If he has a card with a Pokemon cameo with him

Never got the appeal of keeping it sealed. Everyone wants to believe their etbs will hit 1st edition base set booster boxes prices. I know it increases in value over time but it’s low key scalping behavior but over a longer period and I think it’s part of the problem. Scalpers may be the problem on release but sealed investors stall out collectors who want to have fun opening and hunting for their chase. Eventually people will be priced out and would lose interest effectively killing the hobby in the long run. Rip it now open it now collect the cards not the boxes
