Poutine perogies. Sauteed onions, mushroom gravy and some local cheese curds. God damn 🤌

The first poutine I have had in Canada since moving out of the country 19 months ago.

Edit: this poutine was from Murphy's Fish and Chips!

$13, ~1700 calories... No gravy so not a poutine, but pretty big portion for cheap!

This a July flavour from a local ice cream shop in Calgary. Ice cream base tasted really close to sweet cheese curds, with frozen cheese bits in it. There was a crispy potato crunch throughout and it was swirled with caramel / poutine sauce.

Loved the texture, cause I love crunch in my ice cream, but the overall experience wasn't great. Really confusing mix of flavors.

They could have leaned into a maple cheesecake, but I felt they wanted to match some of the stampede midway foods that's going on this time of year. I am pretty open to new flavours but this was weird. (The peanut butter pickle flavour is really good).

Why, why would he do this?

Like griot is fine (fried Haitian pork) but veggies, I feel like it’s kinda weird/wrong. Like no body bought this. I told her to remove and just say regular poutine cuz it feels kinda strange. So she did and turns out it worked lol. I also did a quick search and there’s literally no restaurants selling this. The closest thing I’ve seen is the galvaude.

Edit: The poutine griot seems to have made a lot of you guys hungry and requested the location. We are located at Marché Publique pointe aux trembles. From 10-2pm

I dont mind adding random things to poutine, but this, this is too far. Vegemite in the gravy, and on top!!

Added brownie points for using the right type of cheese though.
