Anyone know what makes this thing sound so crazy?

Hey guys I’m new here. Super fascinated with rockets like these. Can anyone give me any insight as to what makes them scream like this? What is in this and what do I need to build it? Can I use store bought headers?

What's a good capable ball mill for a beginner?

Looking for a ball mill for making black powder (specifically lift/burst) as my hand-mixed stuff turned out embarrassingly slow.

Preferably under $100 USD if possible.

Planning on using it with 1/2" brass media as I don't like the idea of lead contamination and I can live with the longer milling times.

Beginner looking to join this hobby.

Ive recently got the itch to start making my own crackers for holidays. Im looking for advice on what will make the best, most efficient crackers. I have no knowledge about any of this and could use any help at all such as materials and amounts of materials. Mainly just looking to make loud booms. Thanks for any help.

How’s this media for grinding black powder?

They are ceramic. I don’t know about sparking or deterioration/contaminating product, but I found a bucket of these for free. Thoughts?

Be careful lol

I got hit by a cylinder type of artillery shell that must have fallen over. Burns and cuts on my chest/arm. Could’ve been worse.

First 3 inch shell

Worked perfect, timing and color. But why was my break so small?! I packed about 30 grams of high quality granulated BP into it hoping for a huge break. Same as the lift charge (22.5 grams). I had a second shell with Nishiki Willow effect and the break was larger but still disappointing

Unscheduled Rapid Disassembly 😆

PSA: always use HDPE for this reason. Or fiberglass. All safety measures were followed. There was a barricade between us and we were all 30 feet away. Thankfully no one was injured.

Paper mortar tubes

I want to make 1/1 style big bore cakes and was wondering if anyone knew where to get thick paper tubes (inner diameter of 2-3 inches) I have HDPE and a few large 3 inch paper cores, but I wanted to order a bunch to make large show in the box style cakes. Thanks! Happy 4th and stay safe!!

Any tips on sealing the time fuse in canister shells?

Third canister shell attempt was a successful intube Cato. At least the others left the tubes lol.

Tips on better smoke ring?

This is my first successful gas mine. I used homemade black powder and added titanium sponge to it. Water just to cover lift charge and gas the rest of the way to the top. 4” inner diameter pipe 24” long. How can I get a bigger black smoke ring that goes into the sky high? Diesel? If yes what’s the mix of diesel to gas?

Please help me find these fireworks

When I was a kid about 15 years ago my dad’s cousin gave me a bag of what I assume were Japanese fireworks. I remember specifically pink hello kitty fireworks and yellow pokemon fireworks. I cannot find a picture on the internet to show my husband !! Please help me find these fireworks 😄

Fireworks experts: how long would it take you to plan for a show that included 800,000 fireworks? What would be your biggest concerns, logistically speaking?

What are these things I saw at my local city park?

They're set up at the dog park which the road to was closed for a "special event". These weird tubes in wooden holders were scattered on the grass. Some are bigger than others, seems like three different sizes.
