Do you wish the characters were able to wear more than one outfit?

It seems like characters such as Shampoo, Ukyo, and even Ranma and Ryoga often wear the same outfits, or very similar variations of their default outfits. Does anyone else wish the characters would wear more casual outfits once in a while?

My favorite Rumiko Takahashi anime with my favorite characters from Ranma.

My s.h figuarts (old versions) figures and my laserdisc collection of maison ikkoku, it's a bit old due to time but the discs are still wrapped. ( my old laserdisc player reader broke and I got a new one very recently)recently.

Even thou I love Ranma a lot my favorite Rumiko Takahashi anime is actually Maison Ikkoku.

I enjoy laser discs a lot and I wanted to get more of my favorite anime in laser disc format.

Am I the only one who read the Ranma 1/2 Manga just for the Shampoo portions of the Manga?

Me being me, as I'm slowly reading the manga, maybe I have a short attention span when it comes to the manga, but unlike the 1980s Anime, aside from Shampoo, a few fights, and comedy, the Manga is pretty hard for me to read without getting bored and moving on to something else, not like Inuyasha or Urusei Yatsura that had me invested.

Would you have preferred for Shampoo to become the main character like Lum? Or are you okay with her being supporting and iconic?

For me, I am torn. On one hand I want more Shampoo and I think she deserves her own show because her design and charisma scream main character energy to me. But I admit I love how she's supporting yet she defeats the main characters in merch and popularity 🤣 I find it badass in a way.

Ranma chan's voice actor shocking experience

Megumi Hayashibara (Female Ranma voice actor) received a ton of hate mail (allegedly even razor blades in her post 😱) after her debut in the original Ranma anime. In one comment made on her blog she even says she was glad there was no internet at the time. 🥲

Personally I love her work and my favorite characters of her are Ranma, Jessie from Pokemon and Rei from Evangelion.

Do you have any favorite characters voiced by Megumi Hayashibara?

Shampoo's female audience

There seems to be a misunderstanding when it comes to Shampoo's reason for popularity. Some people desperately claim it comes from having only "male pervy fans who waifu her" and no female fans. However they are factually, wrong. Shampoo was proven to have a huge fanbase of women when it was shown what the demographic was of the majority of people who voted in the Rumiko's NHK poll. Not only that but, a huge amount of Shampoo's merchandise is marketed towards women, high heel shoes, conditioners and shampoos (Shampoo's shampoo yes), fashion outfits and pastel colors everywhere. Those things no matter how you look at it, are bought by girls. I am glad to be one of those girls 😺

Shampoo was always popular

Even in old merchandise, Shampoo was always prominent, this is not anything new.

She was even used on magazines as the poster girl. Anyone that claims, this is a new thing is wrong, she was always prominent. She wouldn't be featured on covers of Ranma videogames or cds if it wasn't so🤯

Looking for an old Ranma fanfic where he uses Hidden Weapons to walk through walls

I know this is a hell of a long shot and Ranma is an ancient fandom but hey, I still gotta try.

Anyway he learns Hidden Weapons from Mousse and figures out how to use the spatial distortion to do more than store stuff. He figures out how to phase through wall, it's ki-expensive but he can do it. I vaguely remember a scene where the narrator describes his thought process as contrasting between what a scientist who actually knows the topology and physics involved versus Ramna doing hulk speak.

I vaguely remember some kind of infiltration scene where he enters a skyscraper using said technique and he senses several strong ki signatures among the staff (it's possible Nabiki was kidnapped? I don't recall, the fic is definitely 2009 or earlier)

Shampoo's early color scheme

What do you think of Shampoo's early design with green hair and blue eyes?

Fun fact:

Shampoo's purple hair, just like Ranma's red hair, apparently wasn't Rumiko's original idea, they were both supposed to have dark hair, but the anime gave Ranma red hair, and Shampoo purple.

Rumiko Takahashi's interaction with other works

Rumiko Takahashi has openly expressed her support for ToloveRu (Harem manga with inspiration from Urusei Yatsura ) and surprisingly Prison School 😆 (not harem but.. very very weird manga). She was even featured on the last volume's obi of the manga.

https://furinkan.com/takahashi/takahashi59.html

What do you think about Rumiko's taste? Did some people expect her to be into other romcom or shoujo manga? 🤔
