The ranma fandom has weirdos too obsessed with rankane that tend to always portray Ranma as someone that hates Shampoo, when in the manga canon, he called himself her friend, and does hang out at the cat restaurant when he wants to eat.I don't get why the fandom acts like Ranma is a trophy boyfriend and like his personality revolves around Akane, but the same people that seem to have problems with Shampoo's obsession with Ranma seem to turn Ranma into an almost yandere obsessive boyfriend.

For example Ranma was initially supposed to have dark hair like his male form, and Shampoo was supposed to have dark blue hair, while Akane brown hair, and Ryoga had light green eyes which was barely noticeable in the original anime.

The popular fanroad (ファンロード) magazine was a fan magazine launched in 1980. Its unusual feature was that much of the magazine was made from reader submissions. The most fan favorite characters would get the covers.

It may have been cliche but I liked Ryoga and Ukyo

I've noticed there is very little appreciation of the main character of the show, Ranma. So let's have a character appreciation post, what do you like about Ranma? Only liking his design and female Ranma design is ok too.

Some people, including people I've argued with in this sub, will pull their hair out over Ranma officially finding Shampoo cute, even though in the manga he calls her *かわいい* which literally means cute.

It is true that Ranma thinks other girls are cute too, but he never had any lasting reaction to Ukyo being cute or to Kodachi's appearance. Shampoo thou clearly left an impression on him, on the rooftop while thinking he notes to himself that she is cute, and wishes akane was affectionate. He also said her leaving at the end of her arc was a waste, specifically because she was attractive, not because of her personality, which caused Ranma problems.And no, it's not Rumiko speaking through Ranma in some weird form of character possession.

Rumiko Takahashi also confirmed that Shampoo was the most attractive of the female characters, with Taro being the most attractive of the male characters.

The interviewer asked her using these words:

一番 (ichiban) = most / first 美形 (bikei) = beautiful person / good-looking person 設定 (settei)= established characterization / setting キャラ (kyara) = character 誰ですか (dare desu ka) = who is it?

Onna no ko da to yappari Shanpū ni narimasu ka ne. Otoko wa... aa, Pansuto Tarō wa utsukushii.

She specifically says 美しい (utsukushii) in Japanese, which means “beautiful.” And やっぱり (yappari) on top of that is an additional indication of how obvious the answer is to her.

The interviewer saying 美形 (bikei)refers to a character who is established as conventionally beautiful or attractive. 設定 (settei) here refers to the character being established or characterized that way. It does not mean “beautiful configuration,” as some people who clearly don't understand how Japanese works would like to claim.

So yes Shampoo is the most beautiful girl in Ranma, Rumiko Takahashi confirmed that, there is no questions about it.

Side note, apparently, some people are hating him, because he dared to say, to care about Shampoo too, and not only rankane.

It seems like characters such as Shampoo, Ukyo, and even Ranma and Ryoga often wear the same outfits, or very similar variations of their default outfits. Does anyone else wish the characters would wear more casual outfits once in a while?

My s.h figuarts (old versions) figures and my laserdisc collection of maison ikkoku, it's a bit old due to time but the discs are still wrapped. ( my old laserdisc player reader broke and I got a new one very recently)recently.

Even thou I love Ranma a lot my favorite Rumiko Takahashi anime is actually Maison Ikkoku.

I enjoy laser discs a lot and I wanted to get more of my favorite anime in laser disc format.
