Got this today from real-debrid : Warning Type: Sharing

So is there a way to use realdebrid while away from home while your wife is at home using it at the same time? I guess having two separate accounts would be a solution but wondering if there are any other ways.

How to buy real-debrid vouchers from India?

Hello all, I have been using real-debrid India official reseller utop since last 2 years to buy yearly vouchers, but since last few days I have noticed that the vouchers there are out of stock, and the utop website displays a message that Real Debrid has stopped offering vouchers now. Has anyone from India noticed this issue?

I don't want to use my credit card for international transactions so I want to buy vouchers instead which is like one time payment done for the whole year. Does anyone from India know any other resellers of real-debrid?

Real Debrid FAQ - May 2026 Changes

Making this post to help those that are out of the loop or looking for answers.

Is Real Debrid Down?

No, the service itself Real Debrid is up and running. However, there are issues with caching and downloading/streaming specific types of torrents as detailed below. Most file hosters are up and running as is the core service.

What happened?

Around May 9th/10th (depending on where you are in the world), Real Debrid began the implementation of filtering to mark cached torrents with specific keywords or string matches as infringing on copyright. These terms are frequently used for torrents of movies and tv shows that get added to the Real Debrid cache.

Why did this happen?

Real Debrid previously announced in 2024 that they would be applying "a filtering by file name" for files hosted on the platform. While the other criteria in the tweet was mostly implemented, keyword filtering wound up getting delayed indefinitely until it was put in place earlier this month (likely due to mounting legal pressure in France in order to comply with the EU Digital Services Act).

What is guaranteed to be marked as infringing file? What are the banned keywords?

The following is pulled almost verbatim from here (changes made for formatting and clarity).

Two types of filename patterns cause blocks. If the filename contains any of these five strings (case-insensitive), the torrent is rejected immediately:
web-dl, webrip, bdrip, hdrip, dvdrip

OR, if when a source tag and codec tag appear dot-separated and directly adjacent, certain combinations are blocked. The check is case-insensitive:
BluRay.x264, HDTV.x264, HDTV.XviD, WEB.x264, WEB.h264

Why can't uploaders just rename the torrent names to not include those keywords?

Piracy is made up of a lot of players, but some of the largest are the scene groups that distribute torrents. The scene groups use standard naming with these keywords which resulted in a large portion of the RD video file cache being removed as infringing. It has operated this way for a while, so while some torrents may be reuploaded on a small scale without those names, most will not. The scene groups are very unlikely to cater to the changes because entire workflows have been built around these strings for years, Debrid users are seen as taking away from seeding torrents (sharing parts of them with others) and Debrid users make up a small portion of the torrent community.

Real Debrid is working fine for me, why all the commotion?

If you use addons within apps like Kodi, Stremio, Nuvio, etc., it's likely those apps are already filtering out the above strings. You may be missing streams and have limited options to pick from, or things may be fine.

If you use Real Debrid for premium file hosters, torrenting movies and tv shows at 1080p or below, torrenting anime or games, or for older content, it's completely possible the service is working just fine for you and you haven't ran into many errors. As mentioned, the filtering is targeting specific content (movies and tv shows).

A large part of the draw to Real Debrid is the large cache for the price. If you use Real Debrid for streaming high quality content (4K movies, Dolby Atmos, etc.), the value proposition is arguably much worse now when compared to other Debrid services.

Didn't the same thing happen in 2024? Can't I just wait until Real Debrid fixes itself?

Real Debrid made changes to their API calls in 2024 among other things to make piracy more difficult on the platform in order to appease regulators. Streaming addons went down for a few days because they couldn't query the API to see if something was cached (API endpoint /instantAvaibility). Popular addons implemented workarounds. Unlike 2024, the keyword filtering makes it impossible for most existing torrents to exist on the platform so there is no fix this time.

Is there any workaround?

Maybe, if you use AIOStreams I posted a guide a few days ago that I recommend looking at. As mentioned in the guide, this is a workaround not a long term fix. Many addons are already implementing keyword filtering to avoid torrents that have been removed.

Do I need to seek out other services?

Nobody knows for sure what will happen next, but it's very likely Real Debrid will keep these new measures in place to comply with regulators. It's also possible that they add more criteria to the filtering in order to remove more content in the future. If you are part of the use case for the platform affected and notice the drop in available streams/torrents, it may be time to seek out other services. However, if you don't stream using Real Debrid or fit a use case that isn't affected by the filtering, you may be fine sitcking to the platform. Experience will vary.

Are other services at risk of the same?

All Debrid and DebridLink are at risk because they are based in France. Basically any provider in the EU is likely to face the same issues. This particular crackdown won't apply to T0rBox because they are based in South Africa. Same with Preimumize being in Belize/Malaysia.

How do I easily compare Debrid services if I'm looking to switch?

Use this article and/or included interactive web app to compare and contrast different providers.

Please comment if I missed anything or made any mistakes. I'll edit the post as long as it's up with any future changes.

Real-Debrid/XT update

Saw this update on the TF article but hadn't seen the update posted anywhere. I would say all services based in the EU are at risk from this service degradation at some point.

>Update: Real-Debrid’s parent company, XT Network, responded shortly after we published this article. The company explained that the current situation is unrelated to the corporate restructuring. At the same time, it confirms that it indeed uses filters to block content.

The company positions Real-Debrid as a technical intermediary operating within the framework of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and French law (LCEN).

It cites a Paris Court of Appeal ruling of March 19, 2026, supporting its view that Article 8 of the DSA prohibits any general monitoring obligation on technical intermediaries.

The filtering actions it has taken are a response to keyword lists provided by trusted flaggers, which is in accordance with Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (DSA).

In other words, the company says that it implemented a keyword filter in compliance with its legal obligations. XT Network says that Real-Debrid users are welcome to report errors, if they see any.

RD other use cases?

I still have a one year subscription with RD and I am totally fine with less availability of movies/tv shows as I don't watch that many. Other than caching torrents, has anyone else used it for other purposes? Like file sharing, storage etc? Sorry if this is a noob question. Thank you!

Any DDL sites supporting RD

Are there any DDL sites with actual download files. Example- HD encodes have rapidgator. However, those are RAR files so we can't directly play them.

Real-Debrid Web-DL links are now working!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up: the Real-Debrid links with Web-DL sources seem to be working again. I'm using Aiostreams with the weak instance, and all the previously filtered-out streams are back as well. I tested a couple of titles, and everything played without the copyright infringement message.

Not sure if the issue has been completely fixed yet, but for now, most of the things seems to be back to normal.

EDIT: Newer titles seem to be working, but it's a hit or miss overall. Some links are resolving fine while others still aren't. Will update if the situation changes!

The cache can be rebuilt and it's already happening

All it takes is a bit of the jolly roger spirit - grit, and being willing to work a bit and share that work with everyone. Source content and pack your own torrents. Make sure the torrent and file names contain no problematic keywords. I'd recommend little more than the title (both the native and English name if applicable), the year, and maybe barebones info about the quality (I have tested that e.g. 1080p works fine). Paste your magnet into RD and seed it.

Not only will this make the content available to you for instant streaming, but for everyone.

Sure, you could just give up and move elsewhere, but there's no guarantee that the same thing won't happen to them. Plus we know that RD still has the infrastructure in place to bear the load, something that can't be said for competitors that have billed themselves as a lifeboat only to sputter many times under the load from poaching RD users.

Real debrid is amazing and working fine

Just here to say I've seen all the posts and none of it seems to have any impact. Real debrid works fine in every way and we don't see that changing any time soon. Good luck convincing others to jump ship to your service. Not everyone believes fake news.

RealDebird for downloading from one click hoster (mega)

I’ve never used Real-Debrid for anything other than downloading files from OCHs. In 90% of cases, I download from Mega or Rapidgator. Files on Rapidgator are usually ZIPs and still work most of the time, but files on Mega usually aren’t. Most of the stuff I download is from Mega, so right now I can barely download anything.

You think this is going to change? I don’t care about a refund, I just want a reliable multihoster for downloads again.

Best alternative to Syncler/RD that can be installed on a fire stick and that's good for older movies and shows (90s/2000s)?

I've been using Real Debrid for ages and using Syncler since the week it came out. I've been able to find almost everything under the sun, no matter how old or hard to find using this combo of services. But now with the recent RD issue, I'll obviously be looking for another Debrid provider but I'm also thinking about going with a free app (Syncler is a paid app and my yearly subscription is almost up).

So I'll need something that pulls links for older movies/TV shows in addition to the newer stuff (I watch a lot of stuff from the 90s and early 2000s) that can be installed on a fire stick.

Something that's easy to set up/use please. I'm so used to Syncler and RD that I've honestly forgotten how to set up and navigate anything else. 🫠

I prefer something that I can also add 🧲 links to if at all possible. Once in a while I'll have a hard time finding something older but I can usually find a 🧲 to convert for streaming. Also, what is everyone's favorite place to search for T0rrent 🧲? I used to use TorrSE but I need a new place, its been giving me an error lately.

Thanks!

Is this service back up?

I've been silently following the threads and saw the errors about files being removed in my stremio. I tested for a couple of days with the movie "They Will Kill You", and got those messages in the past days, but today I was able to watch Faces of Death and just out of curiosity, I retried "They Will Kill You", and the 4K option was there, and was able to load it.

Is this just temporary? Are they renaming files to bypass the filters? Not sure what's going on.

PS: Yes I like horror movies.

How to circumvent infringing file?

Hello,

I've recently been trying to watch this korean variety show I enjoy. I noticed that the old torrents I downloaded have been taken down on RD with infringing_file error. I tried to upload my own torrent with the same files, but the same error occurs. Is there any way to circumvent this?

Debris + IOS

I’m pretty new to the whole “cancel Netflix/Disney+ and self-host” world and looking for a cheaper setup that mostly just works out of the box.

I’ve used Plex shares before and they were decent enough, but I couldn’t download anything for offline viewing. Not sure if that was a Plex limitation or just the provider I used.

My setup is:
- Apple TV
- iPhones/iPads
- Just me and my girlfriend using it daily

What I’m looking for:
- Works well with Infuse (seems like the best app for Apple devices?)
- Offline downloads
- Fast and reliable
- Easy to use

I don’t mind spending some time setting things up at the start, but once it’s running I want something simple enough that my girlfriend can use it without issues.

Also, does Infuse handle stuff like:
- Continue watching
- Skip intros
- Watch progress syncing

Would appreciate recommendations from people with a similar setup.
