Wondering what this says, if anything

My wife bought me a pair of these recently, and I'm wondering what the runes say, mainly because I'm aware some hate groups fixate on Scandanavian heritage and symbology. The spearhead and raven motif makes me think it has something to do with Odin, but I have no idea

Spelling assistance

Hi guys. I got reddit a while ago and have never really posted, but I really would like some help with something.

On July 1st, my father passed away from a severe infection due to the hospitals negligence of his pressure sore. Me and my mom talked about getting tattoos to honor my dad, because for about a year before everything happened, my dad became invested in the entirety of Norse and Viking culture. He was particularly interested in the tree of life, and the rune alphabet.

All of that aside, I really would like to have assistance in spelling a couple words that we can use to brainstorm tattoos, or if anyone can help come up with ideas that I dont include, that would be amazing. (Im only asking for help because I dont condone the use of AI, and the only other option I was seeing used AI)

These are the words I would like to have help with:

Daughter, or Child

Father, or Dad

Husband, or Spouse

Or any other words you would think would work best.

Thank you.

What would be the most a accurate rune alphabet equivalent to latin?

I want to get a tattoo of a phrase and I honestly want to just write it in english, but in its "equivalent" runes. I found this alphabet, but I'm kinda afraid that it could be totally wrong or even have some shitty meanings.

I'm not looking for the most historically accurate meaning, I just want to not mess it up like some people who get tattoos in other languages without looking what it means

Any help would be appreciated!

Screenshot from Merlin

These look like Futhark to me but Othala is upside down and I don't think the third rune is right thought I feel like I've seen it before.

Can anyone decode this? If it helps, it's a label on a box holding live beetles.

Younger Futhark help: "Stormr líðr" tattoo accuracy?

Hi all,

I'm planning to get a small tattoo that says "The storm passes" in Younger Futhark.

The version I currently have is: ᛋᛏᚢᚱᛘᛦ ᛚᛁᚦᚱ

Transliterated as Stormr líðr.

Can anyone with experience in Old Norse or runology confirm whether this is a historically plausible Younger Futhark rendering? If not, what would you change?

I'd also appreciate any academic resources or databases where I can cross-reference the spelling. I'm trying to avoid modern rune converters and make it as historically accurate as possible.

Thanks for your time.

What are victory runes

So I'm making a sword for myself currently and wanted to carve some victory runes in the hilt of my sword. Similar to Sigurd's in the Sigrdrífumál poem.

it was said to carve Victory runes in the hilt and invoke Tyr's name twice. What specifically are victory runes though? Just runes that's spell victory or was it a bind rune of sorts? I've tried to look up pictures similar to it but am getting conflicting results.

Two runes

Hi! For my alternative Nordic game world I created a magic order, magic runes. In the picture there is a heavy cauldron, enhanced with magic runes. They express "kenaz" (fire, furnace, Blacksmithing) + "Uruz" (brute force, resistance). These runes are supposed to ensure that the cauldron is not damaged by heat (lava usually has a temperature of 1000-1200 and theoretically I can have a material with a resistance of 3000 degrees Celsius) and also to keep its temperature in the range of 1000-1200. For me, a pretty good way to incorporate some rune magic into the game, what do you think? PS: The purpose of the lava is for the second round, I won't bother with that now :)

Runes carved on an old game of Hnefatafel by the maker

They were carved there by the man who made the board, he speaks Russian, polish, English and Belarusian so it could be complicated to figure out! The first few spell out ‘FUTARK’, and translating badly from online rune alphabets, the best I can make out is:

F U T A R K G A
H N I J Ey P A S
T B E M I L ng D O

What do you think? I’m posting on behalf of my girlfriend, who was made the board years back by some fella who was crushing on her, and who incidentally I’ve just crushed at Hnefatafel lol.

Thanks for your help all! Much appreciated.
