Thoughts on Of War and Ruin

I just finished reading OWAR and HOOOOLLLLYYYY SHIIITTTT.
First 10/10 of the series if I count out The Exile.
Man does Ryan do a fantastic job of fleshing out so many characters from differing factions, having their own choices and paths, painting a beautiful world with good lore, sweeping action scenes and amazing beatiful storytelling.
And how do I even describe when the POVs collide such as >!Ella meeting her brothers, Calen finally snapping at Aeson, Farda coming with Ella to Aravell and sooo much more!<.
Having read Mistborn og trilogy before and The Bloodsworn Saga, this has been a truly epic fantasy series on a scale I haven't encountered before!
I cannot wait to read OEAD but I think I will be taking a break coz this one was chunky and the next novella and OEAD are even more.
Anyways, just wanted to say that Ryan's done a marvellous job and I am soooo hooked!

Can you guys please suggest some books to cleanse my palette?
In addition to the books I mentioned earlier, I just read Warbreaker before I stopped reading OWAR a third of the way because this series is too choncc.
I would like to step away a bit from similar fantasy series with dragons and so much action on an epic scale.
Maybe something scifi or some other fantasy book or small series?
I was thinking maybe Elantris? Thoughts?

Of War and Ruin Prologue Question

At the end of the prologue >! we see a dragon attacking Easterlock seemingly allied with the Elves. Looking at the map Easterlock is right at the eastern edge of the Lynalion forest. Who on earth is this dragon? I’m only chapter 12 about to start it so maybe I just haven’t gotten to it yet but unless it’s the one dragon that’s part of the dragon guard idk who else it could be. I’ve been trying to google spoilers but I haven’t found any answers. !<

If anyone knows i would not mind being spoiled to find out because it’s been bothering me for the last 12 chapters lol.

History of Epheria book.

I really hope that when Ryan is done writing this series and novellas, he writes a world book with a detailed history, lore, and maps and great artwork. Kind of like the history of Westeros book from Martin. This is the first series in a while that I want to get lost in world-building like I did with Westeros or Lord of the Rings. Has Cahill ever discussed doing a world book?

OBAF Editions

Hello! Can anyone please confirm if the US and UK versions of OBAF have different sizes? 🙏 A side by side photo might be too much to ask but well appreciated 💜

Where is the home of Knights of Achyron?

Hello
Recently, I made it to Book 3 but while reading the series, it has helped to keep looking at the map of Epheria.
However, I have tried to find Ardhome (idk how to spell it properly, I listen to the audiobook) but I just never could find it on the map?
Also, in book 1, it made no sense to my why the group would go to Darkwood to get to Belduar? I get that there was that teleportation thing but wasn't Belduar much closer to Midhaven?

Of Blood and Fire - New reader - Father/Mother/warrior/maiden

Been looking for a decent series to read for a while. got Of Blood and Fire after seeing an instragram post of books not to miss.

Really enjoying it so far, about a third of the way through in a couple of days, dont normally read as much.

One thing that pops out was the Father/Mother/warrior/maiden stuff.

MY son saw me reading it and from the title and the dragon egg (I assume) on the cover he thought it was a Game of Thrones book, which I could understand. But that list above is also in the GoT books. Or is that just a trope used commonly in fantasy?

Broken Binding - Ryan Cahill - Of Blood and Fire - Limited Time Deal

Amazon has a limited time deal for Ryan Cahill's "Of Blood and Fire" signed collector's edition for $21.82. The design is from Broken Binding Publishing, a wing of Broken Binding Subs. They also have a signed collector's edition of book 2, "Of Darkness and Light," coming out in November.

Thought I'd share if anyone was interested in the limited time deal. Had to add a flair and picked the most appropriate one...I think.
