how do you compete in this job market?

Schulich students aren't able to minor in anything technical like CS or stats, while specializing like every other BBA degrees. Their clubs compared to other schools also aren't that good in terms of placements(i've heard). So what helps you separate from others in the job market?

How was first year?

Hello, I was wondering how difficult the first year at Schulich was, as I heard it's the hardest. If you don't mind sharing, what advice would you have for fellow incomers, and what percentage of people dropped out after the first year?

Incoming Tech MBA Student

Hi guys I'm an international student (M) coming to start the Tech MBA program at Schulich kinda excited to experience a lot of new things. Not sure if there's anyone willing to give tips and pointers on what to look out for I will be staying on campus so just trying to prepare myself for any culture shocks or things I need to know as someone coming from Zambia before I get there in the fall.

Incoming Schulich Student: Best Non-Business Electives + Any First-Year Advice?

Hi everyone!
I’m starting the Schulich BBA program in Fall 2026, and honestly, I’m already a little stressed about first year.
I need to take an extra 6 credits of non-business electives, and since I’m an international student who’s probably going to specialize in Finance, I’m trying to protect my GPA with my life.
So… what are the easiest, most GPA-friendly non-business courses you’d recommend? Is it better to take two 3-credit courses or one 6-credit course?
Also, if you have any random Schulich survival tips, things you wish you knew in first year, professors to avoid, clubs to join, or literally any advice for a stressed first-year student, please share. I’m already low-key panicking and classes haven’t even started yet. 🥲
Thanks in advance!

Will my offer get revoked

I am an incoming BBA student. The deadline for all courses to be on ouac is June 30th, and you must finish all exams by June 26th. I finished my final exam for my ovs redo Advanced functions on the 25th. So I finished it before that deadline but the problem is that it might take my teacher a couple days to mark and it takes ovs time to put into system of ouac. so I'm wondering if I don't get my redo in ouac up by June 30th. Will they revoke my offer? I already emailed schulich regarding this on my 25th and im waiting for a response.

update: my ovs teacher marked my exam and i sent a request for ovs to put in my mark into ouac, just waiting for ovs now

I have been screwed over so bad! Someone please help if anyone has been faced with the same issue!!!

So what happened is that I recently got a mail from schulich associate deans office that my exam has been flagged for using chatgpt during the ACTG 2011 exam. and yes its june end rn and exam was on april 13, its been very long. The thing is that i did not use the chatgpt during the exam obv and it was a lockdown browser exam so there is absolutely no way i could have cheated and used chatgpt.

So i saw online and it said it could be because of background activity but still i mailed them i'll attend the meeting and i requested the evidence they have against me and they said they will share it in the meeting. so without worrying much i attended the meeting that happened online and the guy did not properly show the logs to me and said there was data packet transfer which means i used chatgpt. I panicked and tried to defend myself saying there is absolutely no way possible to access chatgpt like i could have not access it and i had not motivation to do it cause

  1. Exam was fairly easy
  2. I'm good at accounting and received 90+ in all test and exams from 2010 midterms to 2011 finals
  3. Till now in all of the subjects, the grades are just A and A+.

So as meeting came to an end they told me they've concluded that i've cheated and either i can appeal this decision further or accept this decision and get a 0 on finals and get a grade lower than what i would get after getting 0 on finals. So i have A+ rn, if i accept then grade goes down to like 55 percent so that like D+ smth and then its gets demoted to a D.

If i appeal the decision (which i am gonna ofc cause i did not use chatgpt), idk how can i prove myself right like what can i do here. Any help is appreciated.

This just feels unfair like they show up after 70 days for this, i mean if it was earlier at least i would have logs from my macbook but i dont even those and then that guys didnt even show the logs properly, didnt even let me speak the whole time, I literally had to ask him to please let me speak and justify my self then I had no technical knowledge whatsoever (Im educating myself know how could this be a false falg or anything) and they didnt even share the evidence when I asked on earlier note and even during the meeting I told them to send me the evidence and they still did not, HOW TF DO THEY EXPECT ME TO DEFEND MYSELF LIKE THIS. It feels i dont have any way around this, its really gonna hurt my gpa and gettting internships or good jobs because of a thing i didnt even commit.

TL;DR: I was accused by Schulich of using ChatGPT during my ACTG 2011 final exam on April 13, despite the exam being conducted through a lockdown browser and me not using ChatGPT. About 70 days later, I was called to a meeting where I was told there was "data packet transfer" evidence, but the logs were not clearly shown or explained. I denied the allegation, pointing to my strong accounting performance (90%+ on tests/exams and mostly A/A+ grades) and the fact that I had no reason or ability to cheat. The university concluded that I cheated and gave me the choice to either accept a severe grade penalty or appeal the decision. I plan to appeal, but I'm concerned because so much time has passed that I no longer have access to device logs that could help support my case. The situation feels unfair and could significantly impact my GPA and future opportunities.

York Residence

I’m an incoming schulich student and planning to live on residence for my first year. Since I’ve heard schulich/york is more of a commuter school, I was wondering if there are many other first-years staying on res, and what the overall environment is like.

I mainly chose residence to make it easier to get familiar with campus and meet people, but I’m a bit worried about whether it might feel empty or hard to connect with others. Are there usually a good number of students around, especially first-years? 😭
