Found in about 8-10ft of water off Boca Grande. About 2 inches wide.
Does anyone know what creature this may have come from? I’ve had it for like sixteen years and have no clue
Really proud of how it turned out
I made it out of popsicle sticks, it's held together by glue and prayer✌️
Seashell, coral, moonstone, agate, and citrine
Mr. Crabs has a weird looking face 😂
I was in Hilton Head, SC this past week, where my bf and I found these gorgeous shells. I don't take a lot of beach vacations so I don't really know anything about shells, and I'm curious if anyone would be able to help identify them!
The lighter one is very thick, with an almost waxy underside. The red one had what looked like some natural debris left in it that we removed. Any info will be appreciated!!
Found this shell on a beach in the northsea island of Foehr, Germany. It's hard, thick and not fragile at all.
Looks organic and somehow fresh.
Any marine biologists, shell collectors, or | beachcombers who can help ID this?
I posted a few months back about my grandfathers seashell collection, which included an old pirate chest filled with shells.
I've been slowly going through them and while doing so I decided I'd make a TikTok account for them, and at least try to show them off the best I can
In the meantime I completely forgot to post updates here sohere are some photos from the past few months/days for you guys!
I'm trying to set up a website soon and post them there for people to acquire.
If you'd like to see closer videos of the collection, and you have TikTok, I have a channel called "MyGrandpasTreasures" on there
Something that surprised you about the hobby or that you discovered while shelling.
What exactly are these? Found these beautiful red spongy coral looking things on the beach today in Connecticut
Again, no idea where they were collected.
It looks really close to a pulchura I have, but not exactly.
I found this mussel shell on vacation (the measurements are in centimeters), and I'd love to make it into a pendant for a necklace. I've cleaned and scrubbed it really well, then polished it with mineral oil. How would you polish/seal/protect it and drill a hole for the necklace? Thank you <3
