Found in Kennebunkport, Maine at Goose Rocks Beach between July 25-31st, 2026. I have never seen such tiny shells before. And there was lots of shiny silver sheets (mica maybe?) all over in the soil too. It looked like gum wrappers. You can see some bits in the sand.
I am so curious! I tried to look it up and maybe it’s because there are a lot of shallow wading pools that form?
I kept going outside to take photos and then running back inside so fast because of all the residual thunder and lightning. The rain pattern looked like giant buckets of heavy mist.
To any of the new moms out there what would be an ideal dream gift basket of stuff to receive? No budget. And is there anything in particular you have or would want lots of multiples of to make life easier day to day? Thank you so much! Oh yeah also doesn’t have to “fit” in a basket lol
This is a screenshot from a video I took. Lots of flashing columnar purple lightning before the storm over and over for extended period of time without thunder. High heat and humidity. Almost looked like a strobe light.
I saw skinny repetitive wide horizontal purple lightning on 6/6/26 (like a light lilac) during the storm and then on 6/11/26 I saw this repetitive burst (no thunder) lightning I guess from the high heat and humidity. Interesting how both were notably purple and over and over (especially on 6/11/26 was going on for like an hour or more). I remember seeing blue lightning a couple years ago, too.
