Humber vs Seneca Nursing Program, or can I switch later if TMU / Centennial offers?

Hi everyone,

I recently received offers for nursing from Humber and Seneca, and I am trying to decide which one would be the better choice.

My Humber program starts in September 2026, and I need to accept the offer by May 24. My Seneca program starts in January 2027, and the acceptance deadline is November 1.

I am also currently waitlisted for TMU, and my Centennial application is still under review.

I am thinking of accepting Humber now to keep a safe spot. But I have a question: if I later receive a better offer from TMU or Centennial, can I cancel/change my Humber acceptance and accept the new offer instead? Would there be any issue, or would I only lose the deposit?

For students who are currently in the nursing program or have graduated from Humber or Seneca:

Which school has a better nursing program overall?
How are the professors, clinical placements, workload, student support, and NCLEX preparation?
Is Humber or Seneca better for clinical experience and future nursing jobs?

Any honest feedback or advice would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

Creepy Cabins Seneca King

TLDR; Anyone know the story behind the creepy cabins around the lake?

My friend and I explored this area at the King Campus, around the lake, and we are slightly creeped out but curious what it is. There's a bunch of cabins that appear to be run down and abandoned. One had no window coverings, one had curtains but through the cracks in the curtains you could see some lightbulbs on the wall were on, and the other's windows were completely covered with a vinyl of some sort. Just wondering if anyone knows the story behind these!

Social Service Work Program

I'll be going to Seneca @ York campus for Social Service Work in Fall or Winter and I'm interested in hearing people's experiences. I'm most nervous for the counselling courses because I'm very introverted and have a hard time with communication because I'm Autistic. I've already completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production and am making a career pivot. I've done 4 years of volunteering for non-profits and hope to gain more social service experience.

Full time or Part time??

I applied for full time OSAP for the summer term because I had thought that 3 courses (worth 3 credits each) meant full-time studies. My confirmation of enrolment is being delayed for so long and I came across reddit posts saying that each school has a different definition of full-time and part-time.. so it had me thinking did I make a mistake?? And if I did am I gonna get in trouble for applying for full-time cause how would I know I just went off of what OSAP said. I'm not even sure what my course load is considered.. full time or part time? does anyone know?

Nursing January 2027 (BSN)

Hi everyone,

I’m excited, just got accepted into nursing! I’m doing the regular 4 year stream instead of the bridging. Would someone be able to tell me what their schedule looked like the first year?

I wonder if in person classes are just 2 days out of the week.

No class attendance except for electives?

I’m old now and I’m confused as why class attendance is so low in main courses but people show up in drones to electives that don’t require attendance? It’s me and the prof in this class and it’s almost been like that for all 6 classes. No more than 5 people show up. Is it because it’s summer? I’m genuinely curious

Does anyone know this professor?

Recently, my professor for SMS315 has been changed to Leroy Dacosta. It wasn't the professor I initially picked when I signed up for the class. I looked him up on Rate My Professor, and he has AWFUL reviews (like actually abysmal). Everyone is saying not to take the class with him. Should I just drop the class while I still can? I don't want to ruin my GPA.

Seneca delaying confirming enrolment ? Potentially scamming students.

Is anyone else having trouble with getting Seneca to confirm your enrolment for OSAP to release funds. first week of school is over and payment has been due. I’ve went to the service hub in person, called them over the phone, and even emailed them.. they keep telling me that it would be done tomorrow but it never does. A lot of ppl on campus tell me that Seneca profits off of charging late fees by delaying confirming our enrolment.. it doesn’t seem fair, a lot of us rely on the grants we receive for living and travel expenses. Why are they delaying confirming our enrolment?? It’s like everyone around me is complaining about the same problem.

BTA First year

Hi everyone,

I recently accepted my offer for the Biotechnology Advanced program at Seneca this Fall. I’m really excited, but also kinda nervous about starting 😅

I’m mostly worried about the workload in first year and keeping a good GPA since I may want to transfer later. For anyone already in the program, how difficult was first year? Was it manageable to stay above a 3.0 GPA?

Also, how hard are the math/chem courses and how much lab time do you usually have in first semester?

Any advice would really help. Thanks!!

Course Delivery

For courses that have multiple delivery options am I correct in saying that the course can either be taken entirely one way or the other? Obviously online only spots are first come first serve/subject to availability but I would like to be prepared for how frequent my commute to campus would be.

Humber or Seneca SSW?

I previously wrote another post comparing Humber to Seneca for the ssw program. What do people think in regard to Seneca vs Humber? Which program is better overall?
