are there any fashion careers in putting together/styling an outfit?
I like curating outfits based off of one or more pieces of clothing, regardless of the target style. I enjoy finding items that work well with the original items, and things to avoid. Colours that work, colours that clash in a bad way etc etc.
I'm considering applying for a college degree that teaches fashion, photo and product styling, visual storytelling and window display techniques, social media marketing and digital design, product knowledge and trend analysis, prop concept design and activation, floorplans, merchandising directives and store operations, colour theory and design principles, budgeting and resource management, communication and teamwork.
I know this degree is for visual merchandising, but I was considering taking this degree and the skills I already have + the ones it teaches me futher to do something more. I like being the creative one that visions the outfit that's put together. Like if someone had to advertise a new top, I give them a portfolio/document/pdf of all the garments for the style they need to showcase the new top, accessories and everything that work well with it.
Maybe I'm just talking out of my ass but I'd really like to know if there's anything like this I could do for a career other than visual merchandising or fashion merchandising.
If anyone does something similar to this in their own career please let me know what you do and your experiences!
