Airport arrival time
I have a domestic flight tomorrow at 9:00AM. I’ve already checked in but have to drop my bags. It looks like it’ll be a 30 minute drive to the airport from my apartment. What time should I leave? I have kids with me.
Update: Honestly was the easiest airport check in experience I’ve had in Europe. Left at 7:00AM, arrived at 7:35AM. Didn’t realize I had purchased priority check in so walked to the front of the line and was through security in about 10 minutes. Even had to go back to check-in when security wouldn’t let me bring my son’s scooter on the plane and still arrived at the gate 25 minutes before boarding after getting coffee and food for my family.
- Dedicar bastante tiempo a aprender español
Outlet
Visiting Seville next week and noticed there is an outlet
Near to the airport, departing whether it’s worth a pit stop or not? Anyone been and recommend or is it not worth it? Thanks

Going to Seville next month
Hello I was seeing if anyone could help me with my trip to Seville with my partner. We want to see the different sides of Seville like what life is like where to go and where to eat. We also like rock music and was wondering if there are any cool rock bars or cool clothes shop or just general cool places to see.
We want to see the main sights as well like the gardens and Alcazar ect. I am also learning Spanish and would be happy if I can put it to some use.
Thanks for any help
Where to go on weekend getaways
Hey guys, I live in Seville with my husband and his birthday is coming up in June, he loves nature/mountains/fields/farms and I’d love to be able to take him on a day trip or weekend getaway to somewhere close with a nice nature view. We don’t have a car. Any suggestions or ideas??
Seville nightlife spots for revealing outfit
Hey everyone,
My wife and I will be in Seville next weekend and we’re looking for fun nightlife spots, bars, parties, rooftops, or neighborhoods where people dress boldly, flirt, and enjoy attention/social vibes.
She loves going out in very provocative outfits and feeling glamorous and noticed, but we’re not looking for swinger clubs or anything explicitly sexual — more stylish, wild, sexy nightlife with an open-minded atmosphere.
Any recommendations for:
rooftop bars
upscale clubs
cocktail lounges
late-night streets/areas
themed parties or events
places with a fashionable / daring crowd
We’re staying central and happy to taxi around. Thanks!
One of my favorite restaurants is reopening in a new location
Hi guys! As maybe some of you know, I run food tours in Sevilla and I’m always sharing places I truly love. This one is easily one of my top favorites.
They’re reopening in June at a new location, and if you love good food, amazing wines, and supporting real local businesses, this is a place you need to know, its called Sr. Cangrejo and they will open at Alfonso XII st.
Lets support local business!
Kamakaze taxi driver tacked on a 6 Euro surcharge
We were all set to walk the Camino but then I busted a herniated disc, so we just turned into regular tourists. We had been using Freenow in Madrid, Valencia, and Granada, and we just paid the meter rate, and everything was reasonable. As soon as we got to Seville and got picked up at the bus station, the driver gave us both a thrill ride and a "surcharge" we didn't ask for. I didn't know there is a button on the meter where the driver can enter a surcharge. I actually saw the driver pressing the button, paused and thought about how much more he can scam out of two stupid old Americans, and kept pressing until he got to 6. A 12 Euro ride turned into 18.
Tattoo shop/artist recommendations
Looking for recommendations for tattoo artists in Seville. I am travelling to Seville next month and if I can find a good artist I'd like to get a tat.
Only looking for artists that tattoo traditional style work.
Lunch/tapas?

Sharing my Sevilla experience
Location of hotel
Stayed in Sevilla for one week at Fernando III hotel. For me, hotel was so so as it was letting in a lot of noise but location was great. The pool was on the small side and I did not use it. A bottle of champange was provided on day 6.
Tourist sites
- El palacio de las dueñas was the highlight of my trip. Stunning and beautiful.
- Did a day trip by the tour bus to Ronda and that was interesting to see the landscape and other white towns.
- Alcázar was interesting but I think I could have skipped the chapel. I thought the La iglesia de Santa María la Blanca was actually more interesting and I feel like after seeing one church, all other churches pretty much look the same.
- Plaza de España was a nice walk to look at it.
- I wanted to take it slow so I did not pack in too many things to do. The fun part for me was to just walk and get lost in the old city (I used the compass on my watch to get a general sense of direction) and the run to explore the city.
Food
I did not have good luck with food. They all were just bread and jamón to me.
- Tried to check out El Rincochillo but there were always lines of people and it was on the pricy side.
- Tried La Bortula after waiting for 30 minutes. Food was on the salty side but nothing to rave about. Then I tried all the different places and I thought they were just too bland or too salty for me.
- Naturalmente Real Food. Overpriced but was decent. The most greens I have ever seen on the trip besides espinaca con garbanzo (Spinach and chickpeas).
- Churros are deep fried dough dipped in sweetened chocolate. Try them but they all taste the same. I think they have to be freshly made to be good.
Other activities
- There was a 10K race on Sunday, May 10th and I was able to participate partially. That’s when I realized that the people here speak like the people in the Caribbean - "Vamo" instead of "Vamos."
- Did a total of over 15 miles run over different days to explore the city. Not many runners out but they have dedicated paths for walkers and runners.
- I also just took a local bus ride just to explore the city. It was 1.40 Euro for each ride.
- Jacarandas (the purple trumpet clusterred flowers) were blooming and that was a nice sight. I did not see a lot of orange trees bearing fruits but they were everywhere.
The locals
- People were very nice and kind. They don’t look so friendly but they also don’t bother you either. I would sit at the park to read and no one came by to bother me to buy something from them or made me feel uncomfortable around them.
- If you ask them for help, they all were helpful. Many people smoked and ate outdoor. Reminded me a little of on-the-street dining like they do in Vietnam but in Sevilla they sit on proper tables and chairs rather than the plastic stools.
- They really eat late. Most places stayed open until midnight and it appeared to me that locals would also drink with their meals. I wonder how they could drink at lunch and return to work? I think work culture must be very different over there.
- For example, when I joined the 10K race, I just asked, "¿Cuántos kilometros más para esta la carrera?" They lady looked at my foreign face and replied back in English, "We have 7 more kilometers to go!"
- I don't think a lot of English is spoken there but I tried to communicate with them in my level A2 Spanish at all times.
Edited to add more things that I may have missed and other items observed.
Looking for hangout excuses to stay outside in the sun
Hola! I’m 30f doing a course here all May. Love the course but was expecting it to be a bit more sociable after-hours…. After spending lots of time in places like Brasil/greece/berlin I thought it would be wayyy easier to meet people and get inside the society a bit here in Spain! But nope, and I’m getting some fomo in the evenings seeing everyone chatting and tapas-ing in the sun. After 9-5 in a windowless room I need some sunny sociable hours before homework at night. Had my fill of solo walks around and kinda hoping maybe other people here that wanna get a ≈6pm cervezita sometimes or take a walk or show me around? My Spanish is basic but present (:
Need help obtaining coasters from Orange in the Sky
Hello! I saw a similar post from 4 months ago and wanted to try my luck too. I created a reddit account just for this!! I am trying to obtain some coasters from the Orange in the Sky store in Seville to gift to my dear friend for his birthday in August. I would be happy to pay for the cost of the products, shipping to the US (Los Angeles), and an additional fee for your troubles. I made a reddit account just for this -- hoping that a kind soul is interested and can help a girl out. I am happy to provide more details if you chat me directly. Thanks!

Kid-friendly spaces in Sevilla
Dear parents of kids under 6 who live in Seville area, could you please share your favourite places to eat out with your kids?
I’m talking about:
- restaurants or cafeterias with designated play areas
- where you like BOTH the cuisine and the kids facilities
So we all know about Muerde la Pasta and IKEA, is there anything else? Any museum your toddlers or very young kids loved?
I’ve been to a cafeteria called Plácido y Grata and it was amazing, but it’s always a bit far from my house. Anything else you would recommend?
Thanks a lot for your input
