Bass Shaker Disconnection Issues in iRacing

Good morning, everyone.

I currently have three pairs of Dayton BST-1 bass shakers connected to my PC through three Nobsound Mini amplifiers. I use them with SimHub to simulate different car sensations while racing in iRacing.

Every once in a while, I experience very brief and completely random micro-disconnections. When this happens, the Nobsound sound cards disconnect and reconnect almost immediately, which causes a very short lag or stutter in the game.

I've already tried several things to troubleshoot the issue, including using higher-quality USB cables, shorter cable lengths, updating my BIOS and drivers, and changing the USB connections, among other things. These steps have reduced the frequency of the issue, but the micro-disconnections still happen occasionally.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with multiple Nobsound Mini units / USB sound cards and bass shakers? If so, were you able to identify the cause and find a permanent solution?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

My fully customisable analog gauge for simracing

Heya Everyone,

8-10 months of time on this project and I have made a working fully customisable gauge for sim racing. I would love to get some ideas and suggestions on this.

Details:
Its an 80mm PLA cube. A single USB-C port for power only (5v). I have ran 3 on a Sabrent Powered 7-way USB hub with no issues. The back panel houses all the electronics and gets a little warm, but I never seen more than 35c even after 24hrs.

RGB backlight and a super quiet motor. It uses Wifi to handle the simhub data. A single button for resetting and wifi configuration. I've got the motor speed super low but even in this slower mode it can still go from 0 RPM to 9000 RPM quicker than any road car I know.

I can swap the face plate and needle and so I can customise it for different sims super quick. My end cost for one gauge was about £45. It is 100% possible to do it for much cheaper, I was overly cautious as I was new to electronics. Print time is about 3-4 hours.

End goal is build a dashboard for these to go in.
Cheers !

I spent hours redesigning my MOZA LED effects with SimHub + AZOM. Here's the result.

I wasn't completely happy with the default MOZA LED behavior, so I ended up spending quite a while customizing nearly every lighting effect using SimHub together with the AZOM plugin.

The goal wasn't to make them brighter or more distracting—it was to make them more informative while still looking clean and premium during racing.

I used AI as part of the creative process to design and refine some of the animations, then adjusted them manually until they behaved the way I wanted in-game.

I'm genuinely curious what community members think:

• Do you keep the default LED effects?

• Have you customized yours?

• What's the one telemetry effect you'd like to see implemented?

For anyone interested, I recorded a short showcase of the finished animations:

Constructive feedback is very welcome—I already have ideas for a V2.

12pos absolute switch to rotary encoder via software?

I'm trying to figure out whether this can be done entirely within SimHub using its scripting/formula capabilities.

My controller is an STM32 running FreeJoy. I have multiple 12-position rotary switches connected to it. It behaves as an absolute switch: each position corresponds to a separate joystick button, and the button for the current position stays permanently pressed.

So essentially:

  • Position 1 = Button 1 held
  • Position 2 = Button 2 held
  • ...
  • Position 12 = Button 12 held

I'd like SimHub to treat this as if it were a normal incremental rotary encoder.

For example:

  • 4 → 5 = CW
  • 5 → 6 = CW
  • 5 → 8 = 3 x CW
  • 5 → 4 = CCW
  • 1 → 12 = CCW
  • 12 → 1 = CW

Since the current position is always held, SimHub could also determine the initial position when it starts without generating an input. It would then only need to remember the previous position and compare it against the new one whenever the switch moves.

Ideally I'd like to end up with two SimHub events/actions, CW and CCW per rotary switch, which I can map like the outputs of a normal encoder.

I specifically want to solve this inside SimHub. I don't want to modify the FreeJoy firmware or move all devices to a new microcontroller, because on Arduino i solved this already.

From what I've seen in the past, i would not be surprised if there is a way to create these 2 new virtual inputs based on that logic.

Has anyone done something similar, or is there a good way to create these CW/CCW events per a defined set of 12 inputs? I can work with JavaScript and have the feeling i am just one nudge away from knowing where t start.

Thank you for anything that leads me in the right direction!

[SimHub] AIO Race Monitor – Lightweight 4th Monitor/Tablet Dashboard for Sim Racing (looking for testers and feedback)

Hello everyone!

I've been working lately on a SimHub leaderboard designed for a 4th monitor or tablet. The idea is to combine all the necessary information you need while racing, without relying on any extra plugins (except for LMU).

The goal is simple: I wanted something lightweight, easy to read, with no subscriptions, no telemetry being sent anywhere, and as much versatility as possible.

Some of you may already be using my AIO Dashboard, and today I'm sharing my AIO Race Monitor.

The AIO Race Monitor has 2 pages:

Page 1 – Leaderboard

  • A standings widget
  • A class leaderboard widget
  • The class leaderboard can be switched using Action A in SimHub (you'll need to assign a button/key to it).

Page 2 – Race Monitor

  • Track map
  • Inputs telemetry graphs with ABS and TC activation
  • And other useful race information

I've been able to test the AIO Race Monitor with AC, ACC, LMU, and F1 2018, but I don't own any other racing games.

If you can test it with games you have in your library and share your suggestions, feedback, bugs, or issues, it would be greatly appreciated. Your feedback will help me fix and improve things before the final release.

For LMU: the NeoRed plugin is required:

Download AIO Race Monitor:

Any feedback is welcome, and I hope you find it useful! 🏁

Which one is better for wind simulation, ShakeIt Wind or ShakeIt Motors?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently building a wind simulator for my sim rig using Arduino and SimHub.

I've been watching a few YouTube tutorials on how to set everything up, and I noticed that many older tutorials use ShakeIt Motors to control and tune the fans. However, I've also seen some setups using the dedicated ShakeIt Wind feature.

For those who have experience with wind simulators in SimHub, which one would you recommend using, ShakeIt Wind or ShakeIt Motors?

Is there any advantage to using ShakeIt Motors, or is ShakeIt Wind now the better option since it's specifically designed for wind simulation?

I'm mainly looking for smooth fan speed progression based on vehicle speed.

Thanks in advance!

MCP4SH® v1.1.12 - initial localizations, clearer haptics, 4-corner preset effects profile & safer/more convenient future updates

MCP4SH® v1.1.12 continues the v1.1 refinement line with another focused update aimed at clearer tactile feedback, smoother and more reliable setup, and easier maintenance going forward.

What improved:

  • clearer Engine & Tyres feedback, especially in games that send a lot of telemetry at once
  • better suspension and tyre detail at high speed, where some titles can otherwise become noisy or muddy
  • improved detection of small wheel-lock events, while keeping the existing ABS/full-lock safeguards intact
  • stronger Chassis Load feedback for left/right movement, front/rear balance and vertical load changes
  • further refinement to clutch feel, tyre behaviour and Road Feel
  • updated and matched Standard and 4 Corners SimHub profiles
  • UI and Helper localization for English, German, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese
  • clearer Setup Assistant routing information, profile generation diagnostics and onboarding
  • masked licence-key display and improved licence validation resilience
  • new manifest-driven update awareness for the plugin, profiles and supporting content
  • Updates remain user-controlled

MCP4SH can now detect and prepare verified updates, but it will not silently install software or replace/import your SimHub effects profiles.

You remain in control of when an installer is run and when a new SimHub profile is imported.

Physical .sichannels files are still generated locally by Setup Assistant for your actual audio device and shaker/channel layout. These files are specific to your hardware and are not distributed as remote updates.

  1. Install / Update
  2. Close SimHub.
  3. Run MCP4SH_v1.1.12_Setup.exe.
  4. Open the MCP4SH Setup Assistant > Mapping Wizard and read and follow the steps in order.
  5. Import the supplied Standard profile, or the 4 Corners profile if you use a true four-corner layout.
  6. If your physical device/channel mapping has changed, generate and import fresh .sichannels files in Setup Assistant.

If your existing device/channel mapping is already correct, you normally do not need to generate new .sichannels files just because MCP4SH was updated.

For the smoothest experience, use the current MCP4SH plugin, supplied SimHub profile and Setup Assistant together as the supported reference setup.

Also, freshened up the UI a little bit, and I've yet to receive any reports of someone finding the easter egg :(

pfa, but also, outdated, i upgraded the fans #Woah #SpeedAndPower

How do I fix the delay on my LEDs?

I have a gt Neo and I have been using ATSR hub, for some reason no matter what I try I can’t seem to fix it. All my LEDs always lag behind compared to the game so rpm lights don’t match up and so it’s super noticeable when I shift and especially when I turn on or off the pit limiter as the animation will take half a second to show up after I already turned on the pit limiter. I have already tried the higher Process priority and nothing seems to work, please help me out here.

Anyone running Ulanzi stream decks (D200X/D200H) in their sim rig?

Hey folks! I'm looking at getting into a Stream Deck–style setup for my rig, and Ulanzi's D200 line caught my eye as a nicer-on-the-wallet alternative to the usual Stream Deck / Simhub dash options. Leaning toward the D200X (the "creative" one with extra knobs), but also curious about the plainer D200H.

Would love to hear from anyone who's actually using either one for sim racing — button boxes, telemetry displays, shift lights, or anything creative you've done with it!

A few things I'm curious about:

  • Have you got it running alongside SimHub?
  • How's the build quality / button feel for racing use compared to a proper button box?
  • Any software or firmware quirks I should know about before I buy one?

Thanks in advance

F1 Flag Status plugin for Simhub connected LED Matrix

I have vibe coded a plugin for simhub that pulls the flag status data from the Multiviewer api and displays it on an LED matrix that is connected to Simhub.

It shows status for: Green flag, yellow flag, red flag, VSC, VSC ending and full safety car.

Testing on my laptop but will be adding it to my rig for the next race.

Wind sim not working, help me please

I recently started making a wind simulator using a few tutorials on YouTube, I had bought an elegoo uno and a an adafruit motor shield v2. When I first wired everything up, one fan was not working, I switch it to the m3 m4 side and now both fans where working. I tidy everything and suddenly when I start configurating them they stop working entirely, I tested every component, I know for a fact that the fans and the power supply are working perfectly. I tried troubleshooting the boards with the help of google Gemini, he said the problem was probably from the elegoo board(fake arduino). So I bought an arduino uno and tested again. I encountered the same problems again, the fans aren’t spinning through the motorshield. Gemini told me that the fans can generate current and shoot it back at the board, frying it. But the last thing he told me before that was straight bs so idk. Help would be greatly appreciated cause I’m loosing money on this project. Has anybody encountered this problem before ? It isn’t mentioned in any windsim tutorial or video online. Very frustrating. I am using it with gran turismo on my ps5.
Please help me.

E36 gauge cluster

I need help. I’m trying to set up my e36 gauge cluster. So far I have only gotten the Speedo to work. Fuel, temp and rpms are dead.

After 3 days of scratching my head I’m just lost.
I don’t rlly care about the fuel and temp at the moment but I rlly would like the rpms to work.

I’m using a
arduino uno r3
BMW e36 VDO cluster
12v power
Jumper leads.

I have everything wired up as it should be (the tut I’m following) ie rpms is pin 20 on the x16 chip. I have power ect ect. But nothing. Ports are all set correctly in sim hub.

Is my 5v signal from my arduino not enough power ?????

Side note, the original video I watched

https://youtu.be/L59NL9EuEdM?is=tMx66QoqIw7-6uvx

Is out of date and does not work one bit.

I’ve sent a picture of the wire diagram I’ve followed
