MCP4SH® v1.1.12 - initial localizations, clearer haptics, 4-corner preset effects profile & safer/more convenient future updates

MCP4SH® v1.1.12 continues the v1.1 refinement line with another focused update aimed at clearer tactile feedback, smoother and more reliable setup, and easier maintenance going forward.

What improved:

  • clearer Engine & Tyres feedback, especially in games that send a lot of telemetry at once
  • better suspension and tyre detail at high speed, where some titles can otherwise become noisy or muddy
  • improved detection of small wheel-lock events, while keeping the existing ABS/full-lock safeguards intact
  • stronger Chassis Load feedback for left/right movement, front/rear balance and vertical load changes
  • further refinement to clutch feel, tyre behaviour and Road Feel
  • updated and matched Standard and 4 Corners SimHub profiles
  • UI and Helper localization for English, German, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese
  • clearer Setup Assistant routing information, profile generation diagnostics and onboarding
  • masked licence-key display and improved licence validation resilience
  • new manifest-driven update awareness for the plugin, profiles and supporting content
  • Updates remain user-controlled

MCP4SH can now detect and prepare verified updates, but it will not silently install software or replace/import your SimHub effects profiles.

You remain in control of when an installer is run and when a new SimHub profile is imported.

Physical .sichannels files are still generated locally by Setup Assistant for your actual audio device and shaker/channel layout. These files are specific to your hardware and are not distributed as remote updates.

  1. Install / Update
  2. Close SimHub.
  3. Run MCP4SH_v1.1.12_Setup.exe.
  4. Open the MCP4SH Setup Assistant > Mapping Wizard and read and follow the steps in order.
  5. Import the supplied Standard profile, or the 4 Corners profile if you use a true four-corner layout.
  6. If your physical device/channel mapping has changed, generate and import fresh .sichannels files in Setup Assistant.

If your existing device/channel mapping is already correct, you normally do not need to generate new .sichannels files just because MCP4SH was updated.

For the smoothest experience, use the current MCP4SH plugin, supplied SimHub profile and Setup Assistant together as the supported reference setup.

Also, freshened up the UI a little bit, and I've yet to receive any reports of someone finding the easter egg :(

Just a quick update for anyone using MCP4SH for SimHub

A small update for anyone using MCP4SH.

v1.1.11 is out now. This version mainly improves how suspension and continuous effects are handled. Suspension movement, road texture and sharper impacts should be easier to tell apart, with improvements to background oscillations as well.

The ST Tensioner also does more to keep continuous effects under control when several effects are running together, further reducing remaining buzzing - you can test this feature via the premium panel in the plugin settings GUI.

Heads up, the testable time and availability will be reduced in a future update.

There is also the new TCR system, or, the Telemetry Clarity Rating.

It shows how usable the telemetry from a game is to MCP4SH.

It is not a score for the game itself.

A few other changes are included too, such as better fallback routing for pedal effects, UI cleanup, installer updates and smaller fixes, among which license validation hardening.

The plugin was developed for SimHub's ShakeIt Bass Shakers primarily but its output properties can be used for ShakeIt Motors too. Instructions are available in the guide via Setup Assistant > SimHub Helper.

A few things worth clarifying:

MCP4SH does not replace SimHub, ShakeIt Bass Shakers or your existing hardware. It runs inside SimHub, uses the telemetry available there and shapes it into output properties that ShakeIt custom effects can use.

TCR only describes how useful a game’s available telemetry is to MCP4SH. It is not a score for the game, its physics or its force feedback.

The effects are designed to work together as a mix. Judging one effect in isolation will not always reflect how the system is meant to feel while driving.

Results will still depend on your transducers, mounting, amplifier settings, crossover and rig construction. No software can make every hardware setup behave identically.

Mounting discipline remains important. If you hear the shakers clearly but feel very little through the rig, check for rattling, resonance, poor energy transfer, unsuitable frequencies or loose mounting. Isolate the shakers where necessary, and use rubber, polyurethane or silicone washers, bushings or pads to reduce unwanted resonance. A frequency sweep feature will be coming in a near future patch to help find ideal frequency ranges for your hardware.

Feedback based on genuine interest or actual use is welcome.

MCP4SH v1.1.11 is now live - big ST Haptics refinement + TCR + setup/licensing cleanup/hardening

MCP4SH v1.1.11 is out.

This one is mostly about making the haptics cleaner and more consistent across sims. Suspension impacts and noisy telemetry handling had a big refinement pass, especially for titles where the impact layer could feel too constantly active. Brake Feel vs ABS/Lock separation was improved, and Engine & Tyres now has a bit more articulation without changing the intended front/rear drivetrain balance.

Other changes include updated canonical SimHub profiles, initial layout preset support, better pedal-effect fallback routing, safer license input handling, OneDrive support, unified local state storage, and a new TCR (Telemetry Clarity Rating) to show what kind of telemetry/haptic clarity to expect from a given title.

If you tested earlier v1.1 builds, v1.1.11 should feel like a much more mature baseline.

As usual, available on GitHub, OverTake and GTPlanet

Or via the TytoSensoryLabs.com/MCP4SH.html website.

MCP4SH v1.1.10 update - assorted fixes and refinements, haptics polish, rF2 tweaks and improved support, and updated Standard effects profile

MCP4SH v1.1.10 just went live.

This one is mostly a refinement update rather than a big new-feature release, but quite a lot changed under the hood based on testing and feedback across different sims/cars.

Main things that changed:

  • Clutch-in and clutch/free-rev behavior has been refined
  • Load Breakaway is a bit more authoritative during real breakaway/cornering events
  • Rear Engine & Tyres feedback has more punch for RWD throttle pickup
  • rF2 steering detection/fallback has been improved
  • rF2 E&T / Tyre Scrub has been calmed down a bit on straighter high-speed sections
  • Kerbs, rumble strips, sausage kerbs, dome kerbs, and sharp runoff/off-road hits should now feel more defined and violent where the suspension/load data supports it
  • License restore behavior has been hardened for a rare case where the plugin could briefly show Free or partial license text
  • Setup Assistant state storage has been cleaned up under the TytoSensoryLabs app-data folder
  • The installer now includes an updated MCP4SH Standard SimHub profile and gives clearer import guidance

Profile note:

The updated Standard profile is copied to:

Documents\SimHub\MCP4SH

You can import it manually in SimHub:

ShakeIt Bass Shakers → Effects profile → Profiles manager → Import profile

It does not overwrite or silently activate your custom profiles.

As always, feedback is welcome.

Regarding bases shutting down since the last update during intense FFB events in-game

Hi all, just looking to help confirm if it's just me or if it might help Fanatec sort this;

I had the base shutdown issue twice in DR2.0 yesterday.

After the second one, i turned down the FFB setting in the app to where it just went from 5.9 to 6.0Nm output. And then set FUL to 50, then 100.

No shutdowns since on either DR2.0, AC, ACE.

I've had no other issues with the update otherwise tbh, except the usual restarting from the setup causing my PC to get stuck during said restart, forcing me to reset it. Quite annoying indeed.

I have noticed the graininess in the FFB, but I'm just assuming it's part of the new FFB implements?

It'd be great if r/Fanatec would confirm or provide some update on what's what.

Some pics of my rig and screenshots of the new UI for the SimHub plugin I built to make haptics a little easier to set up across games as well

Hi All, just wanted to share some shots of my rig and screenshots of the new UI for the haptics plugin I built for SimHub.

happy to share further details about what it is/does or where you can get more info via the comments since self-promotion is limited, but if you have haptics, you might be interested.

I hope the screenshots are okay to share; included some pics of my rig too for completeness' sake 😛 (they're older ones though, made some slight adjustments since)

MCP4SH v1.1 - String Theory Haptics for SimHub & Setup Assistant are now live! This is a big one.

MCP4SH v1.1 for SimHub is finally out!

For anyone who hasn’t seen it before, MCP4SH is a SimHub haptics plugin for bass shakers, haptic pads, transducers, and similar tactile hardware. The idea is to turn telemetry into clearer tactile cues rather than just making the rig vibrate more.

v1.1 is the biggest update so far, mainly because it tackles setup in a way that it becomes more intuitive.

The new Setup Assistant helps you:

  • select the shakers / haptic zones on your rig
  • test-pulse output channels
  • map what you physically feel
  • generate a matching SimHub sound output profile
  • follow the SimHub Helper flow to import/apply it

So instead of needing to understand every bit of SimHub audio routing up front, MCP4SH now helps walk you through the physical mapping side of things.

The free version includes the core MCP4SH String Theory Haptics experience and the Setup Assistant.

The license is for extra control: advanced haptic controls, deeper tuning and dynamic effect prioritization, future configuration tools, and supporting continued development.

Free gets you driving.
A license gives you control.

v1.1 also includes the current haptics work across Engine, Drivetrain, Tyre Scrub, Road Feel, Suspension, Braking, ABS, TC, Clutch, Gearshift, Chassis Load, and Engine & Tyres.

Important note: close SimHub before installing/updating, then restart it afterwards.

Feedback is very welcome, especially from different shaker layouts and games. This stuff only really gets better when it’s tested on real rigs, not just mine.

A little preview of some of the more visual updates to the plugin for the next release!

Hi all,

figured I'd tease a preview of the new UI I've built for the plugin, should make things a bit more self-explanatory in terms of how to use and tune it to your liking. Note that the vid is footage of an older version, some significant improvements have been made there too.

On the feel side of things, there's some updates too:
- improved tyre scrub
- improved engine & tyres (feel what the tyres are doing even better
- improved GT7 support (thanks to Wotever's efforts in SimHub as well)
- improved brake feel effect
- more accurate locking, ABS and TC effects
- clutch-bite feedback worked into the clutch freewheel, now called clutch engagment, effect (covers missed gears too now)
- improved drivetrain load and limiter hit effect
- first iteration of the chassis-load effect
- significantly improved suspension effects
- roadfeel now contributes to sense of speed too instead of just texture
