Is It Worth Dropping Aegis?
I've had kinda the idea of being the best female player for this game, but is Aegis the character to do it with? I was practicing online, and she's given me my best tournament runs, but people always camp, teabag, or do anything else to waste my time and take the fun out. I'm a little tired of people friend requesting me after changing their name to something dirty, even after 2-stocking me. Is she in any way viable anymore, or should I look higher on the tier list? Is it worth dealing with this constantly after work just to slowly improve against people with play styles I'll never meet in bracket?
Very satisfying kill screen
Your block was a false prophet
I feel as if it's time for me to throw my hat in the Potential Smash Roster Ring.
Certain characters such as Crazy Dave are meant to be catch-alls for their series. As in I'd want him to function more like Pokemon Trainer, and just have some certain plants.
I'm happy to share my reasoning for any additions or cuts. But please do mind that I kinda did just forget some series and their reps..
I don't know how to get good and I want to cry
So I've been playing Ultimate since 2021, and I have no idea on how to actually get good. I never get opportunities to play with friends because I'm still in school and can't drive, I don't have (and can't afford) Switch online, no one else in my family likes playing video games, and I can't consistently beat a level 9 CPU (not like that would help, since they give you bad habits). Is there any way for me to get better at the game?
When you go into a bunker for 3 months and you're completely fine with heat, food and safety, which 4 characters would you choose to spend your time with?
Basically just that.
You have enough Food and Water
You have enough heat
You are completely safe
You only have to decide, which 4 characters you would spend time with in these 3 months.
Also, sorry for reposting: I for some reason lost full on observation of this post despite it not getting removed by mods or Reddit
How it feels discussing potential Mario newcomers for Smash:
Lingering Falcon Punch visual glitch
I was playing online with my friends and idk what happened with the falcon punch, but the visual effect lingered for the entire match. He spammed the move afterwards for a while to test if it would go away, but it didn't. Unfortunately, none of us saved the replay so we don't know what happened or if we could even recreate it.
What Would the Official Smash Tier List Look Like if Final Smashes Were Allowed in Competitive Play?
I’m not asking which character has the best or worst Final Smash. What I’m wondering is: if FS Meter or Smash Balls were legal in competitive Ultimate, how much would the tier list change?
Which characters would move up the most, and which would fall off?
For example, I feel like Zelda goes from bottom 10 to maybe around bottom 30–40 just because her Final Smash is so strong and consistent. Meanwhile, I could honestly see Peach jumping into top 3 with hers.
Those are just my opinions though. What do you all think the tier list would look like?
Who you think is the smartest character in Smash?
**Ness-Lucas-Clause**
(Chosen displayed characters are not my own choices but instead often discussed nominations. Therefor don't flame the OP for "Oh, OP added [X] and [Y] but not [Z]".)
When you would need to rebuild and repopulate civilization after an apokalypsic event, which 10 Smash Characters would you choose to work with? (Read Rules)
In the end have can't have more people than 11 (you are one of them).
Means that you can choose 10 characters out of almost 90.
To make it more diversive and interesting, every character's strengths and defense get lowered to wall levels or lower (they keep feats like Magic, Healing or Teleportation though, just obviously tuned down).
feel free to ask me about my decisions if you're curious btw
While you were busy making memes I learned Ryu's DP
You must defeat my Shoryuken to stand a chance.
Can you flip spawns in trainingmode?
Im worse at doing my combos going left, so i want to swap spawns for easier learning
Size of the Problem
No seriously, what the hell is going on during the home stretch portion of the final level in World of Light? By all means it’s a cool effect to see parts of Galeem & Dharkon appear far bigger in the background, but it’s genuinely making me wonder who we’re really dealing with here.
Big enough to look the way they do in Shots A, B, and C, but once they're close up like in Shot D they're not so high & mighty.
Do you prefer the idea that Galeem & Dharkon’s true forms could be astronomically bigger than we thought, or do you prefer them being only marginally bigger?
Series Icon tier list (my opinion)
EDIT: In retrospect I should have put Xenoblade in "I don't know enough" tier lol, y'all hate my placement of that.
Detailed opinions on the bottom 4 and my ideas on how to change them:
Final Fantasy: If we had representation from more of the series, I'd have put this one in "boring" tier since it's just initials, but since literally everything FF-related in this game is from 7, why not make the "series" icon the meteor from the FF7 logo? It'd be much more visually interesting than "FF" and it'd be all-encompassing to what's actually in the game.
Persona: I have the exact opposite problem from FF with this one, we do have stuff from games other than P5 in Smash (a couple songs basically, not even so much as a spirit, but hey one of those songs is a remix so...), but the series icon is the Phantom Thieves logo, which is a P5 specific thing. I'd make the series icon a butterfly, as that's a common recurring visual motif (character arguably) in all 5 (6? P2 is weird) games.
F-Zero: The existing icon is Captain Falcon's insignia on his helmet and I think the Blue Falcon. It makes some sense given the only playable fighter is Captain Falcon, but there's various spirits and other things (also trophies in previous games) that aren't Falcon himself. I feel perhaps the series initials "FZ" with the lightning bolt from the logo inbetween the two letters would better represent the series and other characters as a whole. I know I criticized Final Fantasy, DK, and Street Fighter for this exact design but I feel like the SNES title screen font and the lightning bolt would be visually interesting and distinct enough to make it work.
Wario: There aren't even 2 letters here, it's just one. Imagine if the Mario series icon was just the M on Mario's cap instead of the mushroom. Recognizable I guess but the lamest solution possible. The issue with Wario is that there are 2 primary series to pull from: Wario Land and WarioWare. WarioWare is the newer and more active of the two, and a common visual motif between a lot of the games is Wario's nose and mustache. Given it's literally part of his face I would also argue it represents Wario as a whole, even if it's being pulled from WarioWare, and given how hilariously narcissistic Wario is it'd fit him like a glove. Also his nose looks kinda like a garlic bulb.
Fire on my Emblem
I giggled more than I should've when I first cooked this up.
Now it's your problem.
Best Nair in the game
I see a lot of discussions about overall characters, but how about we get super specific today?
I wanted to kick it off with who you think has the best Neutral Air. Everyone be biased, but sell your case. My vote:
Wario - Obviously, because I love playing the little fat man! His spin into a belly flop gets me every damn time. It also can double hit, has a lot of protection, and maintains a continuous hit box. Lastly, it combos into a lot of options, including itself.
Now it may not be the strongest Nair, but that's not its purpose in his kit. I mean, Wario IS the greasy king of sour hits... and farts.
Volcano tilt 🔛🔝
I love when I can squeeze in a volcano tilt LOL
