So what's up with the intense hate against Sombr?

I am aware of the concert where he made the audience bark. I mean... isn't part of performing figuring out how to engage and control the crowd? This could be one of his mistakes that he will fix in his later performances. He got big really early in his career and life, now all his mistakes are for the world to see and judge.

Also suddenly everyone is angry at this line:

Nearly every critic quotes this sentence wrong btw. The whole song is about him going through a rough break up and is conveying his thoughts.

>I don't want to kiss someone else's neck and have to pretend it's yours instead.

This is a song about someone clearly incredibly hurt by a breakup. Probably written for people that are going through the exact same thing. The song doesn't even talk about stalking her, or wishing her or her boyfriend anything bad. Rather the song talks about his own emotions and how he really doesn't look forward to move on. It's centered around his own feelings.

Critics call it creepy, immature and petty, but isn't addressing these thoughts and expressing them in healthy ways (for example through a song) signs of emotional maturity? Genuinely, some comments confuse me. I might listen to his entire album just because I disagree with his negative image.

sombr haters are hating on him more than d4vid...which is saying some DISGUSTING things. a guy is just trying to fufill his dream of music and when he finally gets there he gets all this hate? he worked SO hard to get to this place.

if you want to talk abt the concert situation, i could go on and on defending him. his previous concerts were 18+ (i believe) and even if it wasnt it's not like he was directly asking a individual minor to bark for him and call him daddy. it is quite obviously known that it was a joke. and honestly, it is so clear than shane has an amazing bond with his fans to the point where he is able to go INTO the pit with them and still be respectful, and respected. i just don't understand why the internet is targeting him when there's literally a video of sabrina carpenter, someone bigger than him, asking a minor (individually, need to emphasize that) if he is HORNY. and everyone moved on from that so fast. and its not just sabrina, many, many others of a similar situation.

if you don't like his music, thats fine. no one is begging you too. but hating on someone doesn't make you a better person. he has definitely seen the hate and i am so sorry to him. of course every celebrity gets hate but when someone gets it even more im sure it hurts like hell for him. so please stop making jokes about his music especially in a sub where everyone here supports shane. ❤️

I've read that sombr released an EP in 2023 called "in another life." Apparently it was released as "mainly streaming" with "limited physical copies available." Did anyone manage to buy the vinyl? I don't even see it listed on Discogs.

I have seem soo many people saying that he is jewish and stuff but i have never like see him say that was. Is him being jewish just misinformation or has he said that he was before?

Ever since sombr released 12 to 12 and went full pop, he has become ubiquitous: he hasn't missed any major awards show as a performer and has been coverboy of countless music and fashion magazines. Lately, we have seen him twice at Coachella and last week at the MET gala. I wonder if this overexposure is paying off or it's getting a little exhausting. He is talented and clearly ambitious, but I think all these marketed moves are damaging his musical reputation.

I personally didnt like it at first but every time i listen to it i grow to love it more and more. Now its one of my favorite sombr songs and i rlly hope he plays it on his tour.

im not parasocial i promise but i was just wondering who his songs were written about because he clearly yearns for them badly and so i searched it up on tiktok and im not going to name her name here but i found a girl's instagram so i went to go check it out turns out it was a priv acc. but i requested to follow her and she let me in !

she def knows sombr as he is in some of her posts but idk if its his ex or just a friend. i've also heard he's been on and off with this girl.

any thoughts?
